power cut, i couldnt dry my hair,
iron my work clothes,
boil kettle ,
watch gmtv

then at 815 it all came back on, piff paff puff just like that
lucky we got gas cooker, i boiled water in saucepan for cuppa tea

when I was a child we had no electricity in our cottage until I was in grammar school - about fourteen years of age - gas lamps downstairs and candles upstairs

We had power cut last Sunday afternoon. Was cooking dinner and i got electric cooker. First one i ever had. I was well stuck!!!!

Very true words from your mum julie ann. Wish i'd gone for gas again. only had it a month, so guess im stuck with it. Will have to buy a camping stove just in case xxx
