sorry no none of you are mean. Just my ex. He's really mean.

I'm sure anyone else who said the ice cream van was playing a tune to say sorry kids no more ice cream was acting out of love and kindness and being a very good parent lol

Don't do what my mean old ex did and tell the kids that if the van is playing it's tune it's to let you know he's sold out for the day.

Boo.

Ice Cream Vans

If you are bothered by noise from ice cream chimes, Environmental Health & Housing will investigate complaints of noise from vendors that do not follow the Cod of Practice.

Chimes should not sound:-

For longer than 4 seconds at a time - use an automatic cut out device
More often than once every 3 minutes
When the vehicle is stationary
Except on approach to a selling point
When in sight of another ice-cream van which is trading
When within 50 meters of schools (during school hours), hospitals, and places of worship (on Sundays and any other recognised days of worship)
More often than once every 2 hours in the same street
Louder than 80dB(A) at 7.5 meters (contact your local authority for advice)
It is an offence to sound chimes:-

Before 12 noon and after 19:00 hours
At any time in a way which gives a reasonable cause for annoyance

I do what my dad did to me when I was a kid......I tell them that I recognise the tune and it's the guy that picks his nose and puts it in the icecream lolololol soon puts em off xx

*Helen S Report 11 Jul 2008 20:10

I mean, I know the guy has a living to make but this isn't on in my view. I wonder if he's got a job and just doing this on an evening.
