Birmingham International does not handle BA flights and there is no direct service to Austrailia from/to Birmingham either (Birmingham's runway is too short for the very big planes). You can get to Dubai from Birmingham (2 flights a day) if you fancy a stop over on the journey |

I agree with you Gwyn, some airports dont give much choice on flights. I am closest to Luton about 30 minutes away, but generally travel from Gatwick as we have more choice. Also flown from stanstead. Gatwick is about 1 1/2 hours from me but much better choice. |

We are going to the UK in September this year and will be flying with Malaysia airlines, ,which we found to be the cheapest, but we are leaving from Adelaide South Aus...so that might make a difference price wise. A lot of the airlines will not let you chose seats now...which is a bit of a bummer, especially if you want to have leg room near the bulkheads ( exit doors) ...the last time we went to the UK we had a stop over in Borneo for 3 days, but my husband said that he didn't want to do it this time as he wants to spend as much time as possible in the UK...plus I will be wanting to get to as many as possible places that I might be able to find my family roots... |
