at what age is it resonable

our lads 17
weve given him a little freedom , well a lot actually
he goes out with mates at weekends and comes hme around 1am , and has so far been fairly sensible, well he has a laugh, and they are all good lads, but proper lads,

let him ave his girlfriend over and they watch dvd or chat in his room, !! ok im not nieve but he is respectful,
anyway,
he goes out to visit her and walks home around 2ish 3ish,
i text him so as not to impose, check where he is around midnigght or 1am just to make sure hes ok
he thinks i fuss,
last n ight i couldtn get reply so i phoned , no reply,
text OH in work, he said leave him he be fine

am i being too over protective

~~when They have left home...that way they wont be arriving at all hrs..Your roof your rules..Ive got a long way to go....(sigh!)lol

When they pay for the privilege of stil living in the home, !!,,not seriously when they are and act responsible young adults,,,,

I don't think there is a reasonable age. I think as long as you're in your parents house you should respect that & let them know when you'll be home so they don't worry.

I'd say up to 18 there should be an agreed time.

Over 18 there should be a call to say what time you'll be home or that you wont be home as you have other plans.

to accept your kids are all grown up and just let um arrive home when they do
