Who has got a Wii? have you had it long? do you use it or is it what OH calls an 'under the sink' object? i.e. bought with enthusiasm then discarded.

Would I, at my age (a fairly fit 67 albeit with a dodgy back) use the Wii fit? I still walk 3 miles 2/3 times a week and walk 5 miles and swim when in the L District.

Please be honest. No offence will be taken!

Muffy has one... and Maddiecow had one for her birthday a couple of days ago... I am sure there was someone else who needed to take it a little bit easier.... but then I could be wrong and it might have been my friend or sil!!

I am following this with genuine interest. I'm a rather unfit 61 year old, and saw an add. on the telly the other night. So how much is the Wii box and how much is the Wii Fit. Will it be money well spent, or should I just get some sort of exercise byke.

P.S. I don't want to get fit enough for the next Olympics, just want to be around to watch it

Me too Julia! I want to use it as part of a weight reducing exercise, I have lost half a stone since May with walking and eating the right food, but come winter I know I wont walk as much. It looks like there are varying prices on places like amazon.

Bev, i am sure you are fitter and slimmer than me! Well i know you are slimmer!

Stray, i have had a go at bowling on Grandson's Wii. was as bad on that as I am actually bowling!!! To the great amusement of 5 year old grandaughter who beat me!
I fancy the yoga and keep fit ones though.

Daff, if I get one you can come and have a go!

Bright Eyes - I try, I really do, lol

Ann in Glos - I would like to get abit fitter, my life is one continual diet. Consultant has asked me to try and loose some weight as it has all settled around me middle (lovely legs for me age, no varacruse), and he is going to do keyhole surgery for gall stones.
I just want something' gentle'. For years, at least thirty, OH has promised me he would take up ballroom dancing. I'm still waiting, but I feel it would be a form of 'gentle exercise'..I keep saying to him, "Good God man, I don't want you to go on Strictly Ballroom" but he is a busy man. Mind you, if I lost the weight, I wouldn't mind going on it. Didn't have frocks like that in my day, on or off the dance floor.

Stray!!!! are you serious or joking?????

Grannie, has it made you more fit?

Bev, I am 5ft 2.5 overweight and, yes, dumpy!!!

Julia, we have lost weight without dieting but by eating less. we bought smaller plates and it works proving we were eating for the sake of it before.

I have wii fit, an I love it.

My children (aged 14 and 12) bought the Wii with their savings and have quite a few games. I bought the Wii fit about a month ago - boys were shocked - "mum's got her first video game!!" they kept saying. It makes me sound like I'm 120, but I'm actually 43!

I use the aerobics and yoga sections mainly for me toget fit without the embarrassment of going to the gym. I enjoy doing them and can feel I've made progress already - I thought I might die trying to do the short jog, but can now do the Island lap quite easily. The boys have been warned that they will be evicted from the playroom for an hour every morning in the holidays for me to do my workout.

I have fun with the children playing the balance games - they take great delight in knocking me off the leader board immediately in the Football header game after I have spent ages trying to scrape in at 10th place.

I'd cancel my gym membership tomorrow, but wouldn't give back my Wii fit!

Oops - had to edit - I wouldN'T give back my Wii fit!

Ann!! you are so not dumpy!!

Now me... well, fine figure of a woman that I am... I'd be afraid of breaking it, lol!!

Don't you have to stand on something and try and balance on one leg?

My scales run away from me now when I drag them out ;¬((

Love

tinaj Report 19 Jul 2008 18:10

Daff - if I don't break them then no-one will lol - I did check the weight limit before taking any chances!!

There are some one leg balances - but you can hold onto a chair or something to prevent accidents.
