Col, we have had our cooler for three years and are well pleased with it. It is a Convair Mastercool, and I think it originated in Australia. You do have to watch that you dont put too much water in or it will spill when you move it, but so would a bucket!

Nothing is OTT in this heat if it helps.I am even. putting ice cubes in the dogs water. It's the pillows I find get all sweaty and damp, keep flipping them overand swapping top for bottom one.

If it were not for the fan in every corner of the bungalow... I would be dead!! ;-0(

Snow and frost sounds lovely to me.

Yes Pigeon still here.Phoned Racing Pigeon Society and have been advised what to do.Only thing I can't do is pick it up to read it's number.
Apparantly the heat yesterday has brought down hundreds of pigeons.
TTA does the cold bottle work?,I will give it a go.
Separate beds again tonight for me,with big fan and magicool spray at hand.
Seems to be a little breeze today .

If the pigeon is still with you ...call the RSPCA and give them the number on its leg tag and they will tell you who to ring to get it home ......

For Old Geezer - think you've got a bug not heatstroke as I've been having similar probs for last few weeks and a friend in another county has been confined to bed with a severe dose of the bug

Have an air conditioner on in the main passage and fans in two rooms to disperse the cooler air. the cats love the fan and sprawl out in front of it. Cooler is one of those cabinets with fans passing air over cold water, and it works a treat. Dont want to know what the electricity bill will be, I cant stand this heat, 84f indoors. Jean
