I have been perscribed Simvastatin 10mgs by G.P.,as my chlorestral reading was 6. 4, but my feet have become very swollen. My GP assured me as it was such a low doseage I would have no side effects, but I am still worried.
There was a thread not long ago about Statins, would somebody please nudge this up as I don`t know how to do it.
Many thanks

There is a very good thread re statins on Sagazone which is a good site.

It might be that if you stick with a good diet No cakes, crisps, pastry, fryups etc then you might be able to lower your chol readings

Only if your high cholesterol is caused by what you eat. Mine is familial, parents must have had it - so changing my eating habits failed to bring my cholesterol down from 9.5 - it went up to 11.5!!! Now I'm on statins for life and have been for over ten years - no bad side effects fortunately, only good - latest reading was 4.5
