Mumps bridge still stands and is a railway station. Very few cotton mills still stand, just a few chimneys on the horizon. The road layout is totally different from the days of WW2. Lots of dual carriagways and motorway intersections.

The Town centre is all new and good for shopping called the Spindles also Tommyfields market is also good for a wander around.

Catch a train from Manchester Victoria. They are quite cheap for a day return, you can also get a ticket to get you on the Trams in Manchester aswell. Get on he one that takes you around the Mumps, Oldham line, (the other line, goes direct to Leeds through Rochdale), that way you can get off at Mumps and have a wander around.

Dont expect too much from Oldham. It is a typical town that has lost its industries and trying to survive in the Manchester belt
