Is 1901 census free or not?

	Hi all. I'm trying to take a look at the 1901 census.... But everytime i find something of interest..im expected to pay! Yet..I continually hear on tv and on line that it is free to look at the census...So why is it..I keep being asked to pay? Bloody annoying!

	LOL...but that doesnt give you the info needed to know whether what you have found is what your looking for. Typical...nothing is free. I hate sites that continual use the word FREE..when really it isnt. Or am I being cynical?

	Hi Carrie, I was looking up relations of my aunts husband. You know...brothers sisters..parents..etc. Found a number of possible candidates...BUT..cant tell for sure without seeing the full info. For which you have to pay... Not really important..as such..though they are a family link..... Its just the frustration of continually being told..this is free that is free..when it isnt. Their websites are covered in the word FREE!..to tempt folks in. I find it so very very annoying...but alot of the web is like that....its misleading :(

	Er?...yes..I think..you mean ancestry.co.uk.? Ive been to so many in the past week..sign into many of them..I cant re-call...lol. Again...alot of these places....boil down to the same site. Most appear to be ancestry by any other name.... So what appears to be lots of sites to check out..are really the same site...again annoying!

	Well... I did have like 50 credits to start with..but...pretty much wasted 90% of them. I had little to go on then...so was shooting in the dark so to speak. I know more now..with help from some great folks here...but it's such a price to continual searching. I just don't have the funds....Im no longer working because or arthritis...so money is very tight. Shame can't get togther with other family members....all chip in with a few quid..to get full access..then let eveyone know the signing in details ..so we all can take advantage of it!..Would be a great idea.....its just I dont have much family...lol.

	Paul access to Ancestry is free in a lot of libraries

	I cant remeber Claire..been on so any sites. FreeBMD has been very useful....its not 100%...but its good for general searches. Found plent of info there. Guess I have to take another look at ancestry again..see if ive missed something. Cheers for replies Paul
