but i dont care lol, earlier this year i planted some sweetcorn seeds, i now have 7ft plants , i thought the sweet corn grew out the top where those seed like things are but ive been told they grow from the feather like things growing out of them and ther is more than 1 on each plant

Puss...the cobs grow on the sides of the plants.....you should hopefully get three or four off each plant. Mine are forming but are not ready yet.
Hope you don't get earwigs in yours.........lol

when we first gre them hubby thought he had done something wrong as tought would be out top wasnt until they formed lower down he realised they were ok

The grass seed like thing at the top drops the pollen.
That is why sweet corn is best grown in a block ( square ) as the bits lower down get fertilized by the pollen blown on the wind...........I hope the explaination isn't so rude that the post gets reported....lol
