The Swiss pharmaceutical giants, Merckups, have just confirmed earlier reports that trials of their new ant-viral drug, code named PUDNIW, have encountered problems.

A spokeswoman said that about 50% of those taking part in the trials suffered sore throats, aching limbs, headaches and high temperatures.

However, she claimed that the trials of the new drug had been a complete success ………………………… and that it were only those who took the placebo that reported the side effects.

The news comes amidst red hot speculation at Westminster that the Government is about to call a General Election for October.

YET MORE BREAKING NEWS !

The Schools Minister, Ed Balls, has just announced that the Government is calling up 5,000 Territorial Army Reservists with immediate effect.

They will assemble at a secret location in the Midlands where each of them will be given a two hour refresher course in Stage II level maths and English.

From there they will disperse to undercover locations in Southampton, Bristol, London, Birmingham, Manchester and Newcastle together with sufficient provisions and stores for 14 days.

Mr Balls went on to announce that he is recalling all SATS test papers for remarking, and making a final push to complete the marking of outstanding papers, and expects to let all pupils have their results within the next two weeks.
