Hmm, maybe I will leave it blank this year and tick it next year... Just so people can figure out where I went to (I was at the last house for 32 years LOL) they might think I died otherwise LOL

There are ways and means of tracking you, even if you tick.
I know someone who ticked and is ex.directory, but idling away on Google one day I searched various people's names and there he was advertised on the net. for all to see as secretary of a local club, ..address published too.

I ticked last time. We've lived here for years and are in the phone book. If any future researchers can't fathom out where we live from that information, I don't hold much hope of them finding more ilusive relations.

It's not so much future generations...but there could be someone out there trying to find me to tell me I've inherited millions LOL (I am kidding). Ok, so if I don't tick and then register with mail preference...I should be covered?

Well yeah, I know you still get junk mail as they have all different ways of big brother finding us LOL. But, would I get *more* junk if I didn't tick.

Susan with numbers, I dunno... with my family it's not necessarily a bad thing LOL. Can I swear at rellies who aren't on it if I then go and tick it myself? Ah the decisions *Sigh*

I ticked too. Still get the junk mail

On the other hand...if we all ticked...no-one would be able to find anyone.....good thing or bad....I don't know.

I understand your query - If you tick are you still on it for future genealogists.
But you don't want to be on it for identity thieves today.

* I can't smell you * LOL

To tick or not to tick for removal from the edited electoral roll? On the one had they're incredibly useful for family history research on the other hand they also go to junk mail companies... gah... the decision!

Thoughts?

ETA - I changed the title slightly as it looked misleading the other way.
