I have a gold ring that belonged to my Great Grandfather and as the story goes it was one of three, the other two being made for his brothers.
What I would like to know is how common was this amongst working class families. I believe the ring was made in the early 1900's and I'm curious to know how a poor family could afford to buy gold rings for their sons. Any information would be appreciated.
