Well this thread could not have come at a more opportune time. I too am thinking of purchasing a pair of binoculars for a Christmas pressie and did wonder what to look out for. |

Personally, I would take him out after having a look on my own first, maybe to Jessops as suggested if you find them helpful, and let him choose his own, then he will be able to weigh up the different ones and decide for himself. No one to blame then if they aren't quite what he had in mind! |

Yeah i know they can be expensive Brian, my ex hubby was into astronomy and apparently some binoculars are better and more powerful than a telescope. |
