Sun is blazing in Jakarta (as per usual), after an amazing lightening display last night. Some of the city got a good downpour but we only had a little bit of the wet stuff here.
We had planned on dinning by the beach at a seafood place last night . . but the rain put paid to that . . that met with my approval because it meant we got to go to one of my fav's . . serve the best soft shell crab I have ever tasted . . of course I had to have an extra serve just for the Dr Printheth . . teeheee

TLR took me back to Sarinah yesterday and we finished of the Chrissy shopping . . I am really thrilled with my little finds . . got my snuggles with Ryan, Reagan and Rubes . . but will have more time with them during the week while TLR is at work.

Just hit 7am here so best go get showered and ready for the day ahead

Take care and keep grinning . . luv Laurie

Tonyand all the Wattlers
I just came on and read the reminder for the lotto and I am so sorry I completly forgot all about it I have no real excuse except my memory is atrocious
What can I do now I am so sorry

I flew home Thursday and it was was pretty awful as Cassie had to drop me at the airport and leave me there for my fight at 12 at 10 o'clock and at 12 they said plane was delayed and at 12:30 they said it was canceled altogether and then they said go and get your luggage from downstairs and book in again and then they paged me and said for me to go to gate 46 and we were leaving from 39 so I had to race off down the terminal like a mad woman and then when I got there they said all that were getting another plane from Sydney were going another flight that was leaving there and then when we got to Sydney the other plane was waiting for us and had to get straight on it I got to Albury at 5:30 and then by the time I got home not only was I pooped to put it mildly but slightly exhausted I spent most of Friday in bed but as I said no real excuse
And even though Tony sent me a reminder I just opened my lap top and it still didn't make me remember when I saw Lotto until I opened it wondering whether we had won anything .
Please let me know what you want me to do like should I get an extra ticket for next Saturday or for one during the week or what Please ???

Lara...Lotto
Mmmmmm.......Wattlers.......shall we ang her from the yard arm. Perhaps a quick keel-haul...... or sent to the Colony of Orstrayler fer a 7 year stint in Van Diemans land.?...for forgetting the Lotto.......lol Barbs great, great was sent out from Ireland for 7 years for just nicking a hanky....so a miss on the Lotto is gotta be worth 14 years at least......plus G.S.T of 1 year ( for Government Tax purposes only )...........:>)))))))

Lara. Most important thing is you are o'k mate,and me thinks you have enough to worry about.
The Lotto was formed as a bit of fun....... and thats why we agreed never to use the same numbers each week...Re:Quick pick ..... In the real world we are all busy with our lives, and ups and downs.Some of us have more downs than ups at the moment.....lol
If you want to buy a Lotto for next week or whenever, then no probs....... Jest means we have more chances......:>)))

Loz. Love reading your travel tales.
Singa's is one of Barb's and my favourite places.

Daughter number two ( Kizza ) hubbie ( Dazza ) soldier boy, is off again next year, for a stint on the Solomon Islands and then posted elsewhere.
She sounded quite pleased he was going,again.!!!!!!!!......lol

Hope everyones had a great weekend.

Well Tony and Wattlers all,
Orstralia it is then cause being swung from the yard arm doesn't sound Like sumfin I would enjoy being quite weird about having things put round me neck as I am lol Mike is taking me down the street with him in the morning on his visit to the physio especially to get the ticket I will tie some string around me finger so as I won't forget when I get to the newsagency what I am there for ok

Marie good to see you on here and hope the halter will work out your problem so as they can fix it all up I have only one thing to say to you though how could ya give away the mighty magpies and go now for the swans Tony and I are just slightly maggie fans. teeheehee
my hubbie's mad geelong and my Pa played for hawthorn before they joined the league. so soft spot for geelong and the hawks but not when they play the pies .

Hi Loz will do that if we can arrange it would be lovely to meet the boys at long last too and we also had tea at the other pub the Belverdere own and it was nice too as usual can't remember the name of it .
Hello to the Dr Printeth at Mudgee have you any pills for memory please Doc I have a really crook one , like the day I was in the supermarket trying to find these capsules that I'd heard about and Iwas laughing away and this bloke gave me aweird look so I said" I am not mad mate just looking for the capsules that are supposed to be good for your memory BUT I CAN'T REMEMBER THEIR NAME "he laughed and said "well you find them show them to me cause I need some too" I did get them ginko and something beginning with B but they gave me shocking headaches so the Dr said to stop taking them apparently they increase the circulation to the brain too much for some peeps, so I now know what is making me memory bad no flippen circulation at all to the brain pmsl maybe the blood couldn't find it haha

hi Sandra it was a nightmare I thought I was going to have to ring Cassie and tell her to come and get me as it was no use going to sydney without a connection to albury ,and I don't get enough sleep without sleeping at the airport

Hi all Been a very busy few days but very enjoyable ones..My pal from New Zealand left Friday morning and I think we were both ready for a rest as we had been on the go all week..lol.It was good to catch up and fill in 3years of news..

Lara You are getting as bad as me for remembering things.. I have a calender which I have to look at each day cos if I didn't I would never remember a thing..Hope you are rested after that horrid trip home,, The storms caused a lot of trouble for the flights and poor people had to spend the night in the terminal...There is always a bed here if you ever need one..

Merle Hope you are resting and getting a lot of tlc.. Bet you enjoyed getting out of the house and having a bit of retail therapy..just don't overdo it..hope the blood tests are showing an improvement..

Marie I can email you through GR,, I only have to click on your name on here and it takes me to a message box and I can message you and it is private,,This is how you can contact anyone who you think is a match in your tree..Just click on the tree owner or message poster and you can contact them..easy..I will send you a message so that you can see how it works..

Sandra How goes it mate..Don't hog the rain, remember to share it with us..

Had a lovely but brief visit from Vonny on sat. arvo.. Was lovely to see her and John,,Great people..

Ahhh Lovely Lara . . you gave me a good laugh . . TLR too . . it reminded us of the phone calls I get from him when he goes shopping for me . . I always give a list . . but he forgets to take it . . teeheee
You dont go getting yourself into a tizz over the darn Lotto . . as Sir T said . . its all for fun . . and we all have to have our priorities in the right place . . yours is to take care of you for us.

Well the other Ozi's have left this evening . . so we is on our own . . and I am glad about that - now I can spend this week catching up with friends instead of entertaining the other Sydney sider wife. We had a nice enough time . . but now I am going to be flat chat catching up with friends so as not to offend anyone.

This morning we went to the hairdressers . . got the full head, shoulders and arms massage . . cremebath (oils massaged into scalp and then hot towels) finished off with the hairdos . . and all for 32,000 rp (about AUD$4.50) Twas really lovely thank you . . :)
Then we went for YumCha for lunch . . ate sooo well . . and the bill for the 4 of us, incl drinks and sweet (yummy tapioca and mango pud) came to 230,500rp . . about AUD$32

Wouldn't it be nice to be able to stretch our dollar that far at home.

Mary . . When it comes to retail therapy honey . . a girl can never get enough . . teeheee

Merle honey, glad you were able to go out . . would be driving you stir crazy staying at home all the time. . but take care of yourself and get rid of that infection real quick . . sending love, prayers and positive thoughts for you . .

Most folks who have been to Singas love it . . so few venture to Jakarta that they dont know what they are missing. It is not a tourist destination to many, though the Dutch come here in droves . . guess it is because Indonesia is so much a part of their history. I enjoy showing the place to new visitors . . they are usually blown away by how "green" the place is . . they do grow lovely big trees here . . and masses of palms - they need them too because polution levels are pretty high. This evening it was very clear after the rain . . I could see right out to sea in the north towards the Thousand Islands . . where the cargo ships are all anchored waiting to get into port. In all the years we have been coming here . . we still haven't gone out to explore the islands . . must nudge it up the list of things to do.

Well have rambled enough . . best get on with catching up.

Take care all . . stay well and give the grin gear a good workout

luv Laurie xo

Hello all an extra lotto ticket is on the way 36 lines for this sat so we will have extra with who ever is supposed to buy the ticket this week gets it

Oh Merle you are so right darlin' I want "normal " so much never had it in me life lovie lol as the surgeon said to Mike "Well Mike normally" then she laughed and said "but then again nothing about you is normal "gosh I laughed as I said to her "oh Prue I coulda told you that " he is having another blood test next week and then goes to see Prue and he hopes she says goodbye to him he goes to the physio again tomorrow and he is swimming every day or more or less anyway, more walking and kicking his knee he has good bend now walking without the crutches just takes the stick when out and the only real prob is getting his leg straight pushing it down sort of to go flat on the bed don't know if I told you I offered to sit on it and flatten it on the bed for him he said oh gawd that's all I need woman lol
Loz hope your house wasn't in the path of the shocker of a storm that hit parts of queensland last night and today grief it was a like a cyclone Cassie said they just got the rain no hail but some parts were badly damaged so the boys would be ok too I guess .
I met my Aunty and two of my cousins for the first time while up in Queensland it was great they are the family of my mum's youngest brother Billy I have three more cousins to meet yet two girls and one boy so looking forward to that .I also met my second cousin once removed his mum was my grandfather's sister my grandfather was the third eldest and his mum was the youngest so he is about my age and he lives at Noosa he and his lovely wife cooked Cassie and I a beautiful lunch and we had a nice time talking up a storm . But still no one has a photo of my grandfather Joseph Smedley darn it's so frustrating .

Fred I will send you a list of some Bairds I found we have a lady on the net who collects all the wrong certificates people buy then realise the person isn't theirs they send them to her and then for one dollar each and a stamped self addressed envelope she send any of them to you that are your people there were heaps of Bairds on there so thought I'd PM them to you in case some might be yours
Vonny getting better but wish Iwas with Loz having a lovely head massage etc I can think of nothing nicer except maybe a foot massage oh funny story when I was down at Geelong my friend asked us to tea at her daughter's and when we were about to leave my friends grandson said don't go granny you are your feet sore? Cause you haven't had your foot massage yet, he is five so he makes her sit and have a foot massage and I said oh that's lovely and Lin said it costs me though he gets a gold coin for it and says he likes the smaller ones please meaning two dollars please haha kids !

Ok better get to bed oh oh what's this tied on my finger I know and I can take it off now I remembered lol goodnight all love to all Lara

Hello Wattlers

Gee where does all the days go, oh thats right its getting near Chrissy and time flies around this time of year, or it seems to at least.

Lara mmm thik we have all been in that spot, going shop[ping and standing trying to think what we needed. What a b*** of a trip home you had.

Marie, a lot of people dont seem to like Barry much, maybe he will leave footy and take up boxing, probably be better at it :-0
We have got our own little Bathurst happening here this weekend, with the V8's at Symmons Plains. Have to work out there on the Friday with the Hawks roadshow, so will be able to see a bit, but no V8 racing, I didint get to work on the Sat and Sun, but at least I can sit at home and see it in comfort of home.
Also have to go to Bob Jane and get my wheels rotated as I got new tyres a couple of months ago and they do a free rotation, so I booked it in for tomorrow at 9.30, it just so happens a certain "Smiley" will be there fro a meet and greet so might just have to take a mug and get a signature, might even get my Ford dash or steering wheel signed :-)))

Well better get out of here and do a bit more around the place.

Guess what????? The blood tests are clear and as of today I'm no longer house bound. YAY!!! Just as well coz my body finally decided to reject any more antibiotic and was a sick girl for a day or two. Couldn't even EAT so there. That doesn't happen too often. Am feeling much better already and able to eat a little. Doc says I'll need to take it slowly for a week or two till I get some strength back. Finally made that all inportant 90% today and start in the pool on Friday. and seeing I'm down from 106kg to 90kg(skite skite ) I don't even mind having to go buy some bathers.Not all I'll have to buy soon, me boulder holders don't fit any more. ~~~Hz by the River~

~~~Hz by the River~ Report 20 Nov 2008 08:21
Hello to everyone from the river.....
Bit hard to watch all that water running amok in Brisbane area when down south we remain so dry. Can't complain about 44 mm here last weekend and another 6 mm overnight, with perhaps more this weekend.
I can finally report that we have been going through a bit of stress medically here, but yesterday OH got the all clear from prostate cancer after having a raised PSA test. Oi started off the whole thing by saying casually, since the doc is going to make you have a cholesterol check dear, why don't you get your PSA level done at the same time? Well, the result was high. So followed biopsy - result all clear. Wait 6 months. Retest PSA : level slightly reduced, no symptoms, decided to wait for another 6 months. Latest test PSA back up, no symptoms, no physical signs, lucky break - drug company funding a trial for which OH fitted into the criteria, hence pelvic MRI done 2 wks ago which supposedly may identify any "hotspots" that the biopsy may miss, then earlier this week another biopsy ( this lot paid for by the drug company !) Result yesterday ALL CLEAR ! If anyone saw the article in Melb Herald Sun last weekend about Dr Harry Cooper and his brush with Prostate cancer, his PSA went from 2 to 4 and he had chemo and radiation for his lump - OH has a PSA level between 19 and 26 and no detectable cancer.
Anyway, there it is, we are relieved to say the least.
Merle, sounds like you are finally over the biggest hurdles and can now look forward to feeling good and enjoying life without pain. Congrats on losing so much weight too ! Pity about having to buy new clothes lol ! xoxo
This morning I joined my neighbour walking for an hour !! Hope I can get out of bed tomorrow. D is a tough cookie, she'll drag me out if I don't front on her doorstep on time though! It was fabulous to be out early, I want to continue......
Better finish and get tea on the table. DD is immersed in first term of year 12 and I am pleased at how she is coping. She is most astute regarding the politics of the school and year 12, and has decided she needs to get the most out of the year for herself, not just look good for the school. We are having great discussions relative to her legal studies, drama, art, and extension english courses. On the whole I am not expecting stunning results from her exams next year, but both she and I understand why!! She's not a conformist to the current way of academic thinking, and is doing subjective subjects ...... I did sciences where the answer to a calculation was right or wrong, it's quite different in the humanities. So I'm on a learning curve. I do have to say I think she has some very admirable teachers, but not all. She has progressed to 10 hours of her 120 hours required for driving test...... lots of 5 mins trips to and from daily appointments - she thinks she'll be thirty before she can drive by herself lol !!! It is a disadvantage when we do not go anywhere !
Have to check the chops, already nearly burnt the steamed veg dry !
Love to all, I hope to be able to post more often now things are on an even keel
