When I used to work at Booths (small family run supermarket chain in the north west) we used to get random fruit and vegetable tests, where they'd take the stickers off the apples etc and we had to put them through the till and type in what we thought was the right code, then they'd mark us on how many we'd got right.

(There always used to something unusually shaped in there like a fennel, though.)

oh grief! I worked for the opposition (Sainsburys) for 8 years.

We were expected to know our fruit and veg. We used to get spot training done, where a supervisor would get a basket full of junk and make us scan it.

Whats wrong with the youth of today (mines not helping my headache.. its playing the piano LOUDLY)

My mouth is watering at the thought of marrow and ginger jam. I love it, and rhubarb and ginger too. Baxters do a good one.
