On ITV at the moment is a programme called Now that's what I call 1983.
It's celebrating 25 years of the Now that's what I call albums, and it's playing hits from 1983. They've just played Temptation by Heaven 17 and now Howard Jones is on.
Nik Kershaw, Nick Hayward and Tony Hadley are set to appear.

I am sure Paul Young is miming. OH and I saw him live in the summer and his voice was completely different

My mate just texted me and I'm taping it.
She said 'you had the first double tape and you thought you were great'. I told her i WAS great. lol

Helen1959 Report 21 Nov 2008 22:48

Yes Joanne, I thought that too.
Somebody had better get the smelling salts ready, as Tony Hadley is on soon and I know my blood pressure will go sky high.

I think that if you had heard Paul Young sing then you would have been very disappointed. His voice is very husky.

Now Ali Campbell singing this brings back so many happy memories. Happy summer and just left school.

Tony has just ruined the memories with his new version!!!!

Helen1959

Helen1959 Report 21 Nov 2008 22:56

now I thought Ali wasn't very good, mind you that maybe because the rest of the band weren't there.

I don't like this version either. But my pulse is still racing.

I'm trying to sing-along, and my version is completely different. I sing long notes and he goes and changes the line!

ah, they do that all the time Joanne. Sometimes they get the words wrong when I'm singing along, or they can't keep up with me. It's sad really since they're meant to be the professionals. lol
