Jill in France Report 15 Jan 2009 08:48

Good morning to you all.
Had a great afternoon crafting, made a 3d dress shoe and decorated the front of a large card with it. I made it to show the craft group what can be done and its not just about folding a piece of card in half and adding a few bits.
Have a further few confirmed members for the group plus one wants some info to send on to a friends who has a lot of contacts in the area. Looks like I am up to two groups as just want about four or five as room has just one table that seats six plus think smaller is better so can spend more time helping.
There is the option of using gite but will have to keep dragging stuff around and if we have a booking then cannot use it. My new kitchen table seats 12 but John would kill me if it got covered in glitter or glue :))

xx Jill

Hi all,
Well think I am feeling better now. I am having hormone treatment so will be skipping around again like a young lamb! Heaven help us all!
Jo, could you mail those birthday messages to me from the other site as I don't seem to be able to get on there.
Had my sister in law and brother in law today. Johan picked them up from the station and I had coffee and cake ready for them. I made a large pan of fresh vegetable and tomatoe soup and we had fresh bread rolls with it. They went home again around 4 so then I did some ironing.
I've promised Johan that I would look at the English side of our paper work tomorrow. (Shh.. would sooner be making some cards, but a promise is a promise and I keep putting it off).
See you all tomorrow.

Hi all,
Jill, I am sure your groups will do better if you keep them small. people like to feel they get value for money (I assume you charge), and if they get more personal attention they will feel better about it.

Sylvia, Pleased to hear that you are feeling better, hope the hormone treatment continues to work. Soup sounded very tasty.

Sylvia, have email you.

Jill your card sounds lovely have you taken a picture?? Just looked in your bucket, love all the cards but especially the number 12 card.

Sylvia, perhaps we could all do with some hormone replacement treatment, you will have to let us know how it goes!!

Well the weather here has been sunny but windy all day, and now this evening we have gales, rain, rain and more rain. The neighbours have just lost part of their garage roof. Electricity went off for about 30 mins, could I find the matches to light a candle, knew they were by the log burner, but just could not put my hand on them, lit it in the end off the cooker. Fully prepared now in case it goes off again.

Hope the weather is better where you are and that you are all having a lovely weekend.

Hi, folks,

A belated Happy New Year to everyone. I only come on htis site occaisionally, but have bookmarked this and will try to keep up more often.

It is a very wet day today, but I don't have to go out. I am trying to walk more as I think I need more fresh air and excercise than I have had over the past few weeks.

Sylvia, I'm pleased the tablers seen to be working, and I hope that you continue to feel better.

I've done my January cards, but need to look at February's. This month I'm trying to concertrate on the family history, and went to the Library to use their edition of Ancestry. I was able to trace some family records in the USA, so that as exciting. I need to go back and check for some more.

Best wishes to everyone, and nice to hear from you Catherine

Love

Anne

Hi all,
Well every time I looked out of the window today it was raining. I had my help and she cleaned the bathroom and toilet and washed down all my cupboards in the kitchen, changed the beds, vacuumed. You will ask, what did you do? Well, I made some cards, what a life. I have no birthdays in February at all, not even a Birthday Girl!
I sat and had a laugh with my help. She told me of an interview she has just had for another house to clean. When she went there this great dog came and greeted her. She thought no way am I going to work here. She said the dog looked at her as if he had her weighed up for his next meal. She can tell it so funny too.
Tomorrow I have to go for an eye test again, but not until 2.00 pm so can do some ironing in the morning.
See you all tomorrow.

You all seem to be busy doing the house****, me I've spent the afternoon trying to find my eyelet setter, still have not found it. Put it away somewhere safe when I got my crop-a-dial, but was trying to set some eyelets in the middle of a card, really must get all my craft goodies sorted out. Hate it when I have packed everything away for Christmas, can never find anything. Is it me??? I have lots of family birthdays in Jan and Feb, so really must get on and get them all finished.

Hope you are all keeping well and warm.

Evening ladies, how are you all, hope you are keeping well and lovely and warm. Cannot believe the amount of rain we have had in the last 24 hours. At least we should not have a water shortage this summer!!
OH still has another 5 days before he can drive the car, he is going stir crazy not being able to do anything. Then it will be another 6-8 weeks before he can start work again cannot get any crafting done I will be glad when he can get back to playing golf at least he will be out of the house.

Have a lovely weekend.

Jo, they do get under your feet if they are 'confined to barracks' don't they. My OH is at a loss when he can't play golf, and so am I because he always wants to be doing something, and that doesn't include me making cards or scrapping.

How can you lose a hammer. I can't find my craft hammer anywhere, it is dark bue and yellow and part of a set that includes a stanley knife and a tape measure. Only the hammer is lost.. I had it in November when making Christmas cards and it should be somewhere in this office. I have turned out all the drawers and still can't find it. To make matters worse, OH can't find his small hammer either and that is indoors somewhere too. Help we have a hammer thief!!!!

Hey girls, it is February, and nobody has posted.
My new address book is almost finished so hope I won't be losing addresses, telephone numbers again. I have it all typed out in alphabetical order and Johan has made it into labels. These labels we are going to stick onto a rotating address book Johan had for Xmas. Neither of us liked the idea of writing these addresses on this new rotating address book, as both our handwriting has gotten worse with age.
I have a separate book for e-mails and one for birthdays. Still have to check and cross check there are no errors. So many friends change their e-mail address without telling me and also their telephone numbers. Are you one of the guilty ones?
I sometimes cannot keep up with my neighbour buying cards from me. She came down again yesterday and took lots more. I just need some more leisure time now. I have managed to get some more meals made for in the freezer. Last Sunday I asked Johan to cut up the meat so I could make a big pan of goulash. I chopped the onions in an electric chopper and the rest was easy. I had goulash for dinner and froze 4 portions in. I am planning to do the same with Chili con carne and Beef Stroganoff. It's like cooking one day and taking it easy the next.
I phoned my granddaughter this evening and asked what she had done about the jobs she had been offered. She is going to work in the same chain of shops as she works now and will be in charge, with a rise of 150 Euros per month to start. I am so happy for her. This shop is something like the English W.H. Smith. She will be working in the shop where she has done some holiday hours before when she was still at school.
The weather has been quite nice here today, even heard the blue tits calling each other. Spring is just around the corner, or is it?

Sylvia , it isn`t Feb yet -LOL

Jo Jo Report 27 Jan 2009 22:54

Not Feb yet Sylvia, well I hope its not!!! Still have cards to make for the beginning of the month, the one for my SIL who will be 70 is causing me some problems, would make something special but she really does not appreciate handmade cards.

Ann I still haven't found my eyelet setter, although OH said he remembers seeing it in his office - no telling now where he has put it and I refuse to go and sort it out in there, will use brads till it is found!!

Weather here today frosty and foggy, but rain this afternoon and evening. Wish it would dry out a bit as dog is missing his long walks over the fields, being cream he just gets too muddy and I cannot bath him every day takes too long.

I just wanted to say thank you for all the beautiful cards you sent me for my birthday today. They are all so gorgeous and each one is so different. It never fails to amaze me how we can all have such differing creative ideas. Lots of ideas for me to pinch.

Thank you all again.
