Morning Daff and I hope you will have a better day today:-) And, Huia, I think you are on the wrong track. I think that Daff's thread was deleted because I castigated my dog on here for costing me £500 to have her teeth cleaned.. And saying my solar lights were *winking*...anyone who loves animals and hates lewd behaviour would be offended. There! Have settled that! lol

My little uns arrived last night and are sleeping soundly...awwww bless:-))) BC XX

Oh, BF, so it is all your fault. I can revert to my proper name then, or can I? I suppose now I have pointed out the English edict I would be zapped if I did go back to my proper name.

Morning all... R is home today... drove me to the gp surgery, a 5 minute walk away, lol.... appointment was for 8.40.... and as the nurse doesn't start her list until 9, and there is also only one gp in until 9... there should have been a virtually empty waiting room.... but the two patients before me took for ever... the one came out at 8.40, and there was someone before me to go in... she came out at 9.15, by which time I was really twitchy.... the waiting room was full of SICK PEOPLE, lololol Heaven alone knows what I might have caught... I did steer clear though, and resisted the temptation to pull my sweater up around my nose and mouth, lololol

Anyway, he wasn't too bad... told me I looked well (I do, the reaction to the chemo left me with skin pigmentation on my face and neck that looks like a suntan, the rest of my body is more speckled and looks like a dodgy self-tan, lol) I proudly informed him.... I told you I was ill, didn't I? But I did laugh... he was apologetic... then laughed with me... and said that he really wished it had been Thyroid problems rather than leukaemia!!

So, BP up a bit... am to go back and get it done by the nurse next week.... and he is referring me to a gynaecologist.... but I wouldn't let him peek... so we had to do drawings so I could show him what was wrong, lololol Don't know whose was worse, his or mine. But we got there...

Did a bit of Asda shopping... cats are eating us out of house and home, and all I have to nibble on for my snacks is Snickers bars... I've eaten the Turkish Delight.

Off to my mother's now.... there is a very good butcher near her, and I want to try him out!

See you all later.

Love

Afternoon Daffers and all!

Just back from Morrisons, with a large amount of choccie bickies (did I mention they were half price?? - lol)

You seem to be in fine fettle, which is good! Hope the gynae-Dr gets whatever is the problem sorted pdq.

Off out now to plant up my new set of pots (did I mention Morrison's are selling a set of 3 large glossy ceramic pots - all different subtle shades - usually £13.00 and now £6.50?)

I have some asiatic lilies for one, 3 lovely ferns for another and I'm splitting June for the 3rd! (June will be surprised!) June being a tasty Hosta.

Have a lovely weekend - bi for now

Just noticed the bit about the Butcher!!! when you say "try him out" I hope you are talking about his joints or cutlets! lol

Jac, great minds think alike, I too wondered about Daff 'trying out the butcher' Hmmm!

June is a lovely Hosta, she was really hard to get hold of when she first came out, I got one at the Malvern show last year. Those pots are good value.

Brought my netbook to daughters with me as I couldn't bear to miss anything

Well... today I went out with 2 of my sisters, my niece and my mother (we sent R home with the meat... Jac, I used to love chitlings when I was younger, lol) ... and off we all sallied to the garden centre.... and R is soooooo impressed with me cos I bought not a single plant, pot or gardening must-have accessory or tool, lol But we had a wonderful time... and now I am knackered but nicely so!!

Have a lovely weekend, Ann and T.

Hiya all.... Maz, I am soooooo pleased I am out of the NVQ arena, lol! I found as an assessor I was doing more work than the flipping students!! ;¬))

Aw bless them BC.... and all snuggled down and fast asleep.... it is so sweet watching those lovely sleeping faces isn't? I so love to tweak their blankets and cover them up, lol

Mamiddau... The red was lovely..... didn't have a second although I was sorely tempted!! And the butcher's belly pork was really lovely... full of flavour and very tender...... yummy!

I am now off to my bed... it has been calling me for about an hour..... see you all in the morning.

morning all i am trying to put the portfolio together now it is really hard work ,time taking lol
have just got up to try and get stuck in to it as well as all the other stuff to do

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 25 Apr 2009 11:11

Morning Maz... not all my students were as consciencious.... I'd go from one visit to the next... nothing done... I would end up with all my observations completed and written up... and they wouldn't even have the research work I'd set them, to cover the areas I was unable to observe, done... and that was minimal!!

And their portfolios!! I would leave a sample one in the home... so they could copy the format, as I know how confusing it can be... nope!! The only thing that made it worthwhile that there were always a few really excellent students... and it was lovely to be encouraging them to go further. I would also make sure that I translated the tasks into easy to understand English.... some of my students didn't have English as a first language. NVQ language is a bit, erm... well, how can I be polite? It is very difficult to understand, isn't it? It took me a while to get to grips with it, I have to say. Good luck with it all.... what is your NVQ?

It is a bit patchy here, weather-wise.... bit of sun, bit of cloud, and a cold wind blowing... we are going to be digging in some of the new plants I bought last week, and also R will dig up a few of the plants in the front, the ones that are doing well and we want to keep... they'll go in a temporary home in the back cos I want them out the front when it is completed.

The gardener (not the landscaper, lol) will be finishing his winter job soon, and coming back to play..... he will hopefully be able to finish it all off in time for the hard landscaping to be done.

I shall be doing a lot of supervising today, lololol!!

Well, let's go and zoom around the boards and see what has been happening in cyberworld, lol!

Love
