Have those Aussies gone to bed yet?

Janetx Report 14 Jul 2009 12:43

I am here !! But watching Masterchef !!

Cold night here...sitting in front of the heater at the moment.

Berona Report 14 Jul 2009 13:21

Yes, I'm an Aussie but I'm a bit too fair to be a 'real' one!

Who is waiting for us to go to bed? Are you going to talk about us?
I would stay up just to keep an eye on you - but I have a nice warm bed and a good book waiting for me.

'night, everyone!

Allan Report 14 Jul 2009 13:35

Too early for bed in the West, but only cr*p on the telly so came on here.

Cold here, also. Last night 1oC.

SueMaid Report 14 Jul 2009 13:45

Not quite that cold here, Allan but I think I'll do what Berona's doing. Off to bed with a good book:)) You Brits can talk about us all you long as it's good.

Susan10146857 Report 14 Jul 2009 14:32

A bit of Aussie did you know.

Did you know that in the 1850's ( maybe before ) that Aussies born there were called 'Currency' and those born in England were called 'Stirling'.?.....Just been reading all 'interesting trivia as such in a google book.....lost the connection and don't have the name of the book....Helpful aren't I?

Good night

Allan Report 14 Jul 2009 14:38

Hi Susan with numbers

If you want an accurate description of Australia, read Terry Pratchett's "The Last Continent."

Allan Report 14 Jul 2009 22:39

The Waltons used to be my next door neighbours!!

SueMaid Report 14 Jul 2009 22:52

Good Morning SueMaid

SueMaid Report 14 Jul 2009 23:03

Hello, Allan. You're up early:) It's a lovely sunny morning here - very fresh but I had coffee on the verandah. Not bad for the middle of winter:))

Sue xx

Allan Report 14 Jul 2009 23:06

Hi SueMaid

Don't even ask, but most mornings I am up about 3.00am and go walking for two hours. I try to go most days but the last couple of years it has been a bit hit and miss.

Not as cold here this morning as it was yesterday

SueMaid Report 14 Jul 2009 23:09

Yes well Lynda. When you're upside down the sun slips off the sky and you get the dark. You're having a better summer than last year.

Sue xx

Berona Report 14 Jul 2009 23:20

Good morning/evening all. Now I understand why we lie down when it's dark and stand up when the sun shines.

SueMaid Report 14 Jul 2009 23:36

Good morning, Berona. You must have this lovely morning too:)

Winter Drawers Ever Near

Winter Drawers Ever Near Report 14 Jul 2009 23:55

Hello from Surrey, England.

Small world we live in.

My sil's brother emigrated to Perth and was walking down the road one day and a chap stopped him and asked his name.

Turned out they had both gone to primary school in Scotland.

The world gets smaller and smaller.

Aileen xxx

SueMaid Report 14 Jul 2009 23:58

It does get smaller, Aileen and ain't that a wonderful thing?

Good morning Annabel:)) Hope you have a lovely day before the rain comes. It's beautiful here on the east coast but rain is forecast tomorrow so I'll make the best of it.

A magpie has just landed on my verandah for breakfast:))
