Good morning everyone

I have started this post as a place where we can start our day simply writing our thoughts of the day.

It is a quiet mornining where I live, the trees are still, the sea is calm and there is a feeling of tranquilty today. The temperature is already creeping up at 21c and everywhere feels so calm. My OH and my son and his girl friend are still in the land of Nod. Jet and Joe my lovely Cocker Spaniels have woken and came dowstairs to the study, and Joe is sound asleep by my feet and Jet is sniffing around the garden.
Yesterday we had a birthday lunch witha friend who was celebrating his 70th birtday. He generously paid for 40 friends to join him and his wife and we had a great time. He could not have chosen a better restaurant over looking not only the Med but my favourite Castle, Papa Luna castle which is surrounded by rocks and has the sea lapping all around. The sun was strong and the light therfore was wonderful, children, parents, grandparents etc were in and out of the sea and the world felt great. No...it wasn't just the wine etc ...

We did not go back to our friends house for the rest of the afternoon as our son is visiting along with his girlfriend and we do not know when we shall see him again so... also our frined lives about 10 miles inland and the roads are ....well not really roads at all so knew we would be tempted with the wine so took the cautios route!! Ha ha a pun and I didn't realise until I had written in.

Just come back from my 10 minutes of walking around the garden and thinking of all those who helped me in recent times, I would not have retired if it had not been for their support and encouragement, and would not therefore be so content, for those who have personal worries and concerns, for those for whom life is proving very difficult and for those who may be lonely even in a crowd.

I also this morning pondered on what a beautiful world we live in and decided to try to remember that. I also thought about my sons colleagues who have lost their lives in Helmund and other places and at the same time said Thanks that my son is still safe and well.

Bye for now and please add your own thoughts, I will be back tomorrow

No further down near Calpe, Alicante Province. Been to your part of the world though, drive through it on our way to and from Germany each year.

Good morning everyone. Well I didn't think I would be up this early. We had a splendid day yesterday and although the morning was rather grey the sun came through just in time for our BBQ. We had 14 here in total and everyone brought something with them. We all went into the pool as it was sooo hot and I won't say we frolicked but we did our best for people all over retirememnt age apart from son and girlfriend!!

It is coming up for 02.30 and it is still very warm, and dark skies. Is it a full moon tonight for it sure looks like it from my garden. There is one light not far from the moon , I have not called it a star because I cannot see any others...does anyone know what it is? I am thinking that maybe it is a space station.

King Keith what are your thoughts today, still thinking about that book for the future. I wonder do you keep a diary, doesn't have to have an entry everyday...

Mummo, I hope that you and your mum got to the cemetry ok and had your quiet moments with your dad.

Catch the Cat...If you are ever passing this way you could always stop by....

What made you decide on Calpe?

I had some sad news today a colleagues mother died just as she was about to leave home with my friend to go from Wales to Essex for a very special party so I have added her to my 10 minutes of what I now call contemplation when I think of all those who are having sad or difficult moments and also those who have come through them... Now I am most definetly not a saint or anywhere near that status but I do find that there is a great benefit in this short special time.

I will be around for a little while and then I am going to try to get some sleep...Bye for now and good thoughts to all of you

Jexx, Have a wondeful day and I am sure that the sun will shine on you all. When I married OH all the guests arrived at the Reg Office in wonderful sunshine, as we left home having sent children of both of us in their own Limo, the heavens opened. When we reached th RO , as I stepped out of the car I stepped into a puddle. My silk suit was covered in spots of rain , and my "hairdo" had disappeared.
We were all so happy it really didn't matter and we all laughed as the guests applauded us.

May your sisier have a long and happy marriage.

Bridget,
Another hot, sunny day...
Well we are not exactly in Calpe we are about 6ks inland 'the wrong side of the N332'. We began in Torrevieja but soon decided that that was a mistake so decided to look further up the coast and found this lovely valley and our tiny house and moved here almost 10 years ago.
Nothing's perfect but this almost is!!!

Your area sounds delightful and thanks for responding. We thought about living inland but having lived by the sea for most of my life we decided that we couldn,t be without it. Also around this area inland is plagued by flies for August ansd sepetember. The authorities have started to spray some ares and improvements are taking place but the sea is still the palce for me.

The temp is in the low 40s today and as our houe is cut into rather than rising out of we have our own tropical temps....howeber it is better than Weston Super Mare in UK where according to a friend I have just been talking to it is"bucketing it down ".

I hope that you enjoy your day and and post again tomorrow when I have written my thoughts or maybe you will beat me to it and write yours ahaed of me. There is so much doom and gloom I simply thought it would be a good idea to remember some positive things and thoughts....I hope this doesn't offend anyone as I do reply to many threads where people are having difficulties just as I did a few months ago when so many people here supported me.

Hav a good day

Good morning everyone and a rather late start for me.

Yesterday was another hot.hot day and this gave ius a good excuse fro being very lazy. We didn't do anything very special, simply the basic house work, sunbathed, did a little reading, chatted and chatted again.
OH went early in the morning to Lidl as they had an offer on beer and so they joined the queue and bought rather a lot between them ready for the August visits from family and friends. It was so busy with people rushing to get the beer that they took photos....now how sad is that.

Last night was the last night that my son and girlfriend will be here, this evening they are heading for Barcelona to visit the eldest brother, who lives there, and they are going out with him, then staying at his place until the get the coach to Girona airport....It doesn' seem more than a couple of days since the call came to say that they were having a suprise visit to us.

It has been a delight to spend some time with them and I have really got to know the girlfriend and she is exactly right for him and I am sending a prayer or two hoping that he asks the all important question very soon, i guess I will have to see if the positive thinking helps.

Although it is 08.00 hrs here it is so quiet you could hear a pin drop, not even the trees are swaying, the sky looks very blue not a cloud in siight and the world or should I say my world feels calm.
Even my two dogs jet and Joe are lying quietly beside me.

However like everyone life is not all smooth and yesterday we learnt that OHs youngest son and his 3 children will not be arriving on Sunday as the childrens mother has now refused to allow them to leave the UK for a holiday. She has also changed her telephone number so cannot even speak to them by phone. This is so sad not only for us but for the children as well and is also rather worrying. I may post more about this on another thread as the real story is about two people both of whom have bipolar Illness.

I shall of course have them in my quiet few minutes along with everyone else that I think about each morning and afternoon. I started this only this year because it was difficult for me to go to church due to work, distance and and a few other problems. I have found it has been a wonderful experience and I certainly do not do anything special I simly have a cup of coffee or tea, wander around the garden, sit looking over the sea or sometimes I am even doing my ironong and everyone Who I have promised to sgive some positive thought are given their special minute or two and then I add the family. As i learn that people have resolved their situtaion or that they are coping better they go into the group thought....I do hope that this doesn,t sound as if I am a freak...believe me I am far from Mrs Goody two shoes!!! Oh I could write a book!!!!

Well I have rambled on as usual so now it is your turn to either read or ignore but whatever the choice have a great day

bye for now
