been busy (again).

The only D's I could come up with (for quite a while) were Dull and Dreary, so decided to give it a pass.
Then suddenly, I remembered DRENE the shampoo my mum used to get in the 1950's when I was a child.

Does anyone else remember this shampoo?

Still going to my exercise sessions each Tuesday.

The sessions (and the trainers) alternate - one week it is Tai Chi and the following week it is EXTEND. This is the only "E" I have been able to come up with so far.

it is all good fun, we do marching (on the spot,) as well as boxing, into thin air (which gets rid of any pent up aggression we may have), as well as singing laughing and generally having a good time.

Two of my grandsons were here last weekend. They are going to gymnastic sessions close to the Birchfield Harriers traing ground.
Had a good time watching them do all the hard work.

Family lunch today at a local pub-restaurant, it is my baby brothers 56th birthday.

Thursday today, he was born on a Thursday too.

The only down side, was that I didn't have room for a pudding.!!! :-(

The grandsons will be back tomorrow evening, so I must tidy their bedroom and sort out the curtains.
But not before a have a strong cup of coffee.

1. Exercise! I have never been good at Exercising but now I have to because of my dogs and to get from the road down to my house and then back up when I want to go out.

2. Eat, Drink & be Merry......I do try to do this, do you?

3. Easter. In many places Egg Rolling is an important tradition and usually takes place on Easter Monday. Egg Rolling in Germany was very common where the Pagan Fertility goddes Eostre originated and was introduced to America along wth The Easter Bunny.
From a christian view links are made when rolling eggs down a hill to the rolling away of the stone from the Tomb of Christ.

For most of us it is a jolly good reason to have some fun and to eat Chocolate, i used to boil eggs until they were well cooked and then paint them and hide them in the garden so they had to hunt for them...lovely memories.

Well that is all at the moment, hope that evryone is will and hopfully have some time to add on here, not necessarly about anything in particular.

C is for Camara! The Box Brownie my mum (and a lot of other people) had when I was growing up.

The film only took eight photos. The camera was held at chest height close to the body. Two different view finders, depending if you wanted portrait or landscape.
When taking group portrait the people always seemed to far away in the distance.

C is for Cinema! Sometimes as a child I would go to the childrens saturday mattinee. Loads of children and very few (if any ) adults. There was usually part of a serail, as well as the main film, trailers and other esciting stuff.

C is for Chimneys and Coal.
The sky line and the air quality was so different when we had coal fires. As well as the smoking chimneys of industry.
There was always the possibilty of a chimney fire and the excitement of the fire engines. All part of out outside play.

Thinking about the non-religious part of Christmas (if there is such a thing ), -

C is for Christmas Crackers.- a tradition in my family.
The funny hats, the unfunny jokes and the surprise gift, plus the anticipation - Will the cracker go off with a BANG! ?

C is for Carnival - The Caribbean Carnival with wends its way past my house once every two years.
Music, Dancing and Colour and great fun.

When I was at junior School, - C was for "There is no such word as Can't"
Which used to annoy me no end when said by the teachers. Especially as we were not allowed to argue back.

A family memory is by brother saying "Can I have a cup of coffee?" but as he couldn't pronounce his C's it came out as "Tan I have a tup of toffee?"


Perhaps the best of all ----

C is for COUSINS! :-) I always had a lot of magical cousins, but since "doing my tree" I have found (and sometimes met) so many more! :-D

Hello to you all. At last the sun is shining and the temp is 19 so quite pleasant.
Susan, hope all goes well on your journey and that you have a good day, i am looking forward to reading all about it.
Not a lot happening in my family today nor are we expecting any visitors, main meal which we tend to eat at about 16.00h cooking nicely and the aroma is quite enticing. we have a snack in the evening and this way we have both lost some weight.....could do with loosing more!!!

The wedding party was stunning the brides dress must have cost a great deal of money, it was not overdone but fitted like a glove and the flowers were beautifully arranged. there must have been around 300 people including the children.
We were the only UK people who were invited as soon as the church marriage had been completed. At around 9pm another English Couple we know came and joined us...we arrived home at about 11pm.

My husband Peter decided today that he was no longer going to have a mobile phone. We have been having quite a time with the m phone and the last thing was a cost of 80euros!!! for a month......I have not had a mobile for two years and it is a great relief, we use Skype a lot and this is a much more pleseant way to communicate. I wonder what other people think about this. We do have a very god main telephone and it is not expensive for using in Europe including UK.

susan busy busy, sometimes your life sounds exhausting. pity you didn't have a video of Henry, he obviously was not in the mood to perform. :-D

They say that if you bury a statue of St Joseph upside down at the threshold of your house you will either get a sale or move within a few weeks....worth a try.

Well...what can I say about yesterday.....gale force winds blowing everything and everybody about.

I helped out as part of the ring party and met even more people :-D

None of the dogs seemed to do as well as expected but My Henry took the biscuit on his second comp.....he got to the top of the A frame and decided to have a sniff and a look around.....not content with that when he decided to go on he walked off the walk way.....I think we would have gone quicker if I had picked him up and ran with him......He did however get 3 clear rounds....

While there I got his brother measured so he will be able to start competing the next time, now that he is old enough....He is much faster :-D

I can't wait for the little one to join in...another 6 months to go.....she is going to be a little cracker.

When we got home I was so tired that I went straight to bed....unfortunately I woke up in the wee hours.....am now off to finish gutting the garden.

Susan, how did you do at the show? I look forward to reading all about it. :-D

I think it is D day, so I must think of something funny, interesting or useful to write about.

Yesterday I spent a few hours with a friend helping here with her family history.......I am amazed at how many Peple in her tree have had such interesting roles in life, from Well known Wimbledon Tennis Players, to someone who played a huge part in learning about Physics which changed the minds of others, others went abroad and lived in various Embassies, I am learning so much from them all.

I need to think about D Day, I have a few thoughts but have to think about what would be most interesting.

Still no news from people who have viewed my house which is up for sale. We have made a few alterations in the last few months so thinking about contacting the agents. Have even thought of letting the house out for people to test if they would like to test living in this part of Spain.

Well finally we are back and I am feeling very pleased with myself.....I drove 100 miles without a gulp....We got to the show at 7-30 and at 8 we had our first competition......not bad but a bit slow......by 8-30 we had our second and got a clear round....... At this rate I thought we would be home by lunch time but it was not to be. our last competition was 5 and a half hours later......Not bad again but no win.....sheesh I am shattered.....we got home at 6-30 and up again at 5 am to start all over again.

I think I would have needed an umbrella to have my lunch outside Gerard :-( So lucky you.

C is for CARDS which I have been making this afternoon, it is also for CHARITY and the cards I made will be given to a local residential home where they are sold for the resident's entertainment fund. I only made three today because I was tidying up my stuff but I enjoyed making them.

The Letter C!

C is for Clothes, Cooking Cakes, Cheese, Cork and of course Champagne....

I realy enjoy getting dressed in evening clothes, with a good Mumm Champagne and some delightful easy to nibble food. It goes without saying the Champagne must not be Corked!
Tonight we have been invited to a wedding party for a Spanish couple we know. So I will be wearing my long blue dress with with shoes which match and the champagne will be available, the Cake was made by the young ladies mother and two people we know will be coming from Cork in Ireland to join in the festivities,

that is about all for my letter C...I am sure that others will find something more intersting,

B again, saw a Robin this morning perched on my garden fence.

Before clocks went forward, I heard BIRD SONG a few times .... at 2.15 in the morning.

Unluckily I am not able to distinguish one bird singing from another. So have no idea who the noisy beggers are.
Still doing it now, but somwhow doesn't seem so bad at 3.15!

Ooh I had forgotten to do a B post :-D

But Tess you have reminded me and two of yours are mine also. I love my BUS pass, it allows us to go into town and not have to pay a parking fee, therefore we don't have to clock watch and, if we have lunch we can have a glass of wine with it.

And I too love BOOKS they allow me to lose myself in another world as well as educating myself at the same time. And, even though I love my Kindle, I can't do without also having some paperback BOOKS because I just love the feel of a real BOOK.

*a funny story which involves a B. I was reading the D Mail and read out to my other half. "Apparently making BREAD (wonderful smells etc) is second only to s*x." His reply was. "could you go down the list a bit? What is third?" :-D

And another B.... BIRDS Where have they all gone? Our garden is very quiet so I assume they are all nesting elsewhere, but even at this time of year we are usually visited by a pair of BLACKBIRDS.

So that is the letter B visited for me. :-)
