Lol Allan~~~

Hubby often does the hoovering cos it gives me dreadful back pain, he's a good cook too, can iron..... but I can't let him do it all can I..?..Lol

He recently completely revamped the bathroom, large corner shower cubicle instead of the bath, smashing mirrored units and vanity unit so plenty of storage. That is now my pride and joy and he doesn't have to lay a finger in there for it to be spotless ! I'm back an fro when anyone showers... 4 times a day on average.lol

Sandie, I must get you to chat with my wife...I do the ironing. I also enjoy cooking( but I'm no gourmet!) I will wash up, particularly if I've done the cooking. I detest cleaning and polishing

Hi Ethics folk~~~

I'm shattered , my gorgeous hubby has done the washing up after lunch, done tea for himself and helpless son !!..... They know I don't 'do' Sunday tea.
But.. I have some shirts to iron, I don't shirk my wifely duties on that one.:)

Allan ..both places my cousin Kay lived / lives in were near Sydney.
Her son Andrew, from whom she is estranged has lived in the UK for a few yrs, he is returning to Oz after their 2nd child is born in June /July. They wanted dual nationality for both children. His Aunt Aidre also estranged from her sister thinks of him as her son, but they will keep in regular contact. Aidre's son committed suicide after finding out his wife's infidelity :((

Less on the morbid side hope you are all as well as you'd wish for :))

G'day Tony, I hope that you are not too badly affected by all the rain in Victoria. It seems like all the eastern States are copping it at the moment.

Sandie I am currently working at Waroona: there is a Wahroonga in NSW and also a town, north of Sydney called Woy Woy. So many place names are either the same or sound very similar.

Barbra, our housing market hasn't been as badly affected by the global financial crisis as other countries but there have been a few adjustments in prices mainly downwards. Perth, however, continues to have overinflated prices due to the mining boom.

In some of the actual mining towns houses are scarce and rental proerties can fetch up to $2,000.00 dollars per week!

Good morning from the east coast of Oz.

Haven't been on the thread lately, as there is to much going on in this part of the Country at the moment.
Busy trying to make contact with various relos and friends that live in the flood effected area's. All are safe at the moment.

"Droughts and Flooding rains" as one of our popular Aussie poems reminds us!!

Oz is a vast Country as you say Barbra.

At the moment one could possibly think that Allan and myself live in different Countries....lol

We are flooding in the East and they are fighting fires in the West.

Have a great day/night to all.

Hi all~~

Allan
My cousin used to live in what I thought was Waroonga, is there such a place or is it Waroona where you work? She now lives North of Sydney, if I heard it correctly it sounded like Warway ? Worway ?
Funny how we all wish we had different weather, when I was about 10 the seasons were what we expected them to be, but now.........?

Nite Barbra~~~

Hi Barbra

The job is totally boring: I don't know why they got me in, it's just a wast of their money. Still, as one person said, "Is that your concern?". It isn't, of course, but I'd pefer a bit more work to justify my charges!

We have just had the driest period on record and our temps are in the mid to high 30's.

Hello All, sorry not called in recently, trying to clrear out a lot of irelevant paperwork from my FH files. (Not really working as I keep getting sidetracked by finding letters/emails from people that have to be re-read.

Allen I wish Spring was on the way. There are some snowdrops out down the road but only a few, it is so damp and dark that spring seems a long way off.

The floods will also have a devastating affect on the Tourism Industry and Immigration. There are about 150,000 NZdrs living in Queensland and our lot will still go there no problem. I have rellies in the Gold Coast area... just hope they are all okay.

Update on the fires: yesterday the roads in the area were still closed but FESA (Fire and Emergancy Services Authority) took affected people on a tour of the area to see whether their property was one of the twelve destroyed.

I have ben asked to consider extending my stay at Waroona and help in assessing the state and safety of the remaing houses, about 100 in all.

I'm not sure if I could face all that devastation, so I said that I would consider it.

Hi all~~~

What barstools for those deliberately lighting those fires in OZ :((((

We get it over here , locally ,in the summer, but the temperatures ain't half as high as yours, chop their bleeding hands off !!!!

Wet and grey here , but rain not as heavy as they forecast.
Cold tho, just changed from a 3/4 sleeved cardi into a full sleeved fleece and going to up the thermostat for the heating to kick in.:)

Edit..It already had at 15 but I've just upped it to 20 :)

Hello all

I have come to the conclusion that I may be a bit of a Jonah,

I have now worked at the Shire of Waroona twice, and each time there has been a major bush fire.

The first time was in 2007 when the fire threatened the town of Waroona itself and now there has been a massive fire in the locality of Lake Clifton about 100kms south of Perth.

Fortunately there has been no human casualties but 10 homes have been destroyed.

Seven fires were deliberately lit which then joined together to form a massive fire front. The news even got equal television time with the Queensland floods.

My heart goes out to the people in Queensland, particularly to those in the affected areas, and there still seems to be no respite!
