When you have something a tad on the hot side mix some yoghurt into it - really works and tones it down.

Milk is supposed to help cool the mouth. If OH is allowed to have a curry hotter than a korma at home, we divide the mixture in to 2 - my half has creamed coconut added to t which is another way of calming the 'heat' down. Mind you, taken to extremes, coconut milk is supposed to aide the stimulate the bowels as it were ;-)

'Enjoy' using your new machine Maz when it arrives. In the meantime, A could be encourged to takes his to do at work; you might be able to slip a couple of loads through at yours especially if you have a night shift before then. :-D :-D

Enjoy your new washer, Maz. Mine is brilliant, although it does take longer than the old machine, but has very flexible programmes.

I don't like chillies either DET, or any spices, come to think of it!! I wouldn't eat curry if my life depended on it and I can't stand chilli con carne. I need a fire engine with a long hose to keep my mouth cool! :-D :-D :-D

Morning all ....

Chillies? Can't stand them, not even a hint! It swamps out the flavour of what ever they are added to. Its got to a point where we have to stand and read the ingredients in cook-in-sauces before we put them in the shopping trolley. Most of the Lloyd Grossman sauces are rejected. :-|

Thanks for the Ramada suggestion Errol - had a quick look last night but the nearest one is at a service station miles from public transport. OH wanted somewhere we could park the car and use the bus. A couple of the Colleges do have rooms, but again it's the parking problem as they don't have any. The prices seem to be a £90+ pn where ever located. May be we'll have to fiddle with dates and see if that makes a difference. I don't mind Travel Lodges, but OH is put off by them as he tends to get the side of the bed where a mattress spring digs in to his back.
We probably need to decide if we are going to have a full week away this year, or couple of 'weekends' and apply the budget accordingly.
Maz - you went there in the last couple of years - where did you stay?

It's a mucky morning at the moment, that light drizzle which soaks you in time. Hope it dries up later!

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 19 May 2013 21:34
