Helloooo Kathleen, how lovely to see you again, I hope you are well, and don't you let the family hog your PC, please do post on here again, I am so pleased that you 'found' us.

And I am sure you are not old enough to be my Grandmother either!!!!

Well, still haven't got my car back. It's something to do with the electronic key,and the main garage says it can't do anything till the New Year, but my local one that we use for services etc has phoned around and thinks he can get the part from Anglesey and I may have it back tomorrow.
Went on the bus with my pass which I very rarely use and the shops were heaving, but I managed to get a whole load of things from Iceland and now awaiting delivery.
Was going to get a taxi back, but there was over half an hour to wait,so I got the bus and managed to walk up the big hill with only one bag,so I've had my exercise!Must say though that it was all clear of snow and quite enjoyable in the sunshine.
nice to see so many people adding to this thread.

Just a quick message for Ann. Raining quite heavily here and thankfully melting the ice. Not so cold either.

Have a safe journey tomorrow.

Thanks for that Sylvia, that is encouraging (well not the rain but that it is melting the ice.

Ann, good to see you on here, and Jude sneaked in there too.
Jean what a wonderful man, he is not going to let the weather beat him, and sending e mails too, good for him.

Ann...in Essex....How nice to have someone who knows Maentwrog,Penrhyndeudraeth,Bala, etc.I know them very well as I used to live in Barmouth and my children went to school in Harlech.Lovely part of the world and nice for children to grow up in with the mountains and sea.
Had a guest house on the front in Barmouth and a cafe at the end of the prom...hard work in the season, but really enjoyed the winters.
We're a bit nearer"civilisation" here, but still very quiet and the scenery lovely.
It's a small world!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

I have just seen this thread. I have added to the odd thread here and there over the 5 years I have been a member on this site. Ive never felt confident to strike up conversations with people and I think this thread is a great idea.

Well, I suppose I better introduce myself a little. My name is Claire and I am 29 years old. I am married but no children yet. I am from Sheffield but have lived the last 5 years in Manchester. I work full time as an Administrator in a medium secure psychiatric unit.

I started my family tree with an interest in my Polish ancestor and it escalated from there. Now researching every twig of my tree (its too adictive) and have started with hubby's tree.

I hope to try and spend more time on here in 2010 and get to know you all a little better :)

Take care everyone

Hi Ann, and everyone else.
I went away for a few days so have only just noticed tgis thread.

I am Tess (or Theresa) and 61. Had to leave work early because of ill health. (Loss of balance, severe tiredness and weakness, loss of concentration etc). Am now officialy retired. And yes, I lovemy bus pass.
I even used it when on holiday earlier this year in Somerset.

Live in Birmingham, been divorced for ages. (treated myself to a new surname for my 25th divorce anniversery)

Have one son and three grandsons, was visiting them before Christmas. They live in Herefordshire, near Shropshire boarder, very different from here.

Will be back later,

Tess

Hi, I'm a newbie. Just started looking for great-grandmother and cannot believe the response I had! Thought I would have a little mooch about and see what else goes on around here. I noticed a few notices about message boards getting a bit out of hand - I have seen that happen on other message boards, which is why I've always read them but not dared to contribute! I'm 59, looking forward to the bus pass (although I heard recently that they are changing the rules for 60 year olds now). Still work full time as a medical secretary. No children (apart from the husband). Love holidays in USA and Australia where we have family. Compliments of the season to all. Marilyn x
