Discussing the whodunit storyline, Santer told the drama's official website: "I've said before that the outcome is surprising and yet, like all good surprises, will be in retrospect inevitable. I think it's a good outcome, I think it makes sense - I know it makes sense.

"I don't think it will be one of those ones where the audience go, 'Huh?' I think it will be satisfying, most importantly. I hope so - it's for the audience to tell me."

Meanwhile, offering advice on how viewers can crack the case themselves, Santer revealed: "What I can tell you is that there are three big clues - one in the Christmas Day episode, one more recently than Christmas and there's another one that, if I were to tell you where it was, would perhaps give it away too easily.

"There have been numerous red herrings as well, so me saying that there are clues may or may not be helpful!"

It was Ben (Archie's love child with Kaff) not Phil & Kaff's son as everyone is lead to believe.

Ben dunnit with the broken snow-globe - after Roxy had had the row with Archie, after Bradley had had the fight with Archie, and after Phil and everyone else in the square had been to see Archie and argued/fought with him.....it was Ben, with a little help from Evil Janine!!!!!

You got me confused now. are you sure BC hasn't written this plot???

TeresaW

TeresaW Report 10 Feb 2010 13:54

No Roxy didn't know he had cancer at the time he died, thats why she had a go at Peggy for not telling her. She would have known he'd had it years ago.

Wasn't the snow-globe on the bar at the time Archie was murdered. Didn't he grab it as he went down, and when Ronnie went back into the pub and found him there, didn't she pick it up?

I thought it strange at the time, and now I can't remember if it got broke in the row between Ronnie and Roxy before or after the murder. But if it was after, why did Archie buy Ronnie another one? And if it was broken before Christmas, how was it on the bar?

I'm confused. lol

Thanks Rita and Ann, it has been niggling me about this globe ....... I was trying to see how it would fit into any plot.........but it would seem that it was something that Archie held dear and wanted Ronnie to have the same feelings about it...... another red herring....

.....and now Ann, the cancer thing, I always thought it was a Dirty Den/Angie type plot where he was pretending to have it to get Peggy back....... but I was wrong again......

I don't like the Beccy character either.....

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 10 Feb 2010 09:06

Aah but she could have known about the cancer years ago but not that it had returned.
Yes the original snow globe was smashed.

Think it is dragging on a bit now, they are having to pad it out.
Wouldn't want a friend like that Beccy she does too much letting slip.

didn't Stacey have a 'fling' with Ryan at some point?

Sally

Sally Report 10 Feb 2010 01:47

Perhaps I have this wrong........but did anyone else pick up on the glass snow shaker ornament.....

The last time it was seen was when Archie was looking at it just as the statue of the Queen Vic was coming down over his head........and yet.....

Ronnie has just opened her christmas present from Archie, with a card saying it was from him with love, and she has been holding it and looking at it for ages........now if Archie had it just before he died, how did it come to be wrapped up in christmas paper........or did he buy her a new one.......

It was mentioned somewhere that only yesterday have they had the scripts for the live episode, but they still don't know whodunnit, that is still secret until the day, they haven't yet received the 'reveal' scene.

They will probably do a lot of advance work on other storylines, catching up on the whodunnit after the live show? They've filmed things on the day before now to make it more current.

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s2/eastenders/news/a201674/eastenders-bosses-issue-live-ep-script.html

EastEnders bosses this afternoon released the top secret live episode script to all the cast involved in the 25th anniversary production.

Until today, cast members were in the dark over whether they would be appearing - or even speaking - in the episode.

The script, written by series consultant and lead show writer Simon Ashdown, was delivered to the cast ahead of the first read-through on Monday.

Producers, however, have held back the most important page - the 'Who Killed Archie?' reveal scene. The killer's identity will remain under lock and key until the night of the live episode and the actor playing the culprit will reportedly be informed of their character's sin halfway through the broadcast.

An EastEnders source told DS: "Producers wanted to make sure the script was perfect before sending it out. It's been the talk of the studio for the last three weeks - nobody knew a thing until today."

They added: "Still only seven people know the killer's identity - and that's the way it'll stay until the night."

EastEnders' live silver anniversary episode will be broadcast on Friday, February 19 at 8pm.

I'm not sure Marion, but if he's not, it's a fair likeness to what I remember under all that hair lol.

I'm beginning to think more and more that Jack did the deed, and now he's seeing poor Bradley as a way out, thanks to what Tiff told him.
