Yes you could say Jane!! What with all that colonoscopy business before Christmas, and now this, it was getting pretty scary!
Glad you enjoyed your trip to London. Eddie Izzard isn't for me, but I'd have loved the Soho bit !!
No supper for us tonight, still stuffed from lunch!!

Anne Report 6 Feb 2016 16:45

Good to hear you and the Hat are back Jane, shame about the hotel but at least Eddie Izzard was well worth the trip. He used to perform at the cellar bar before he became really well known he was also at the theatre a couple of times.

Timmy is about two, he was the one that adopted us and cost me a small fortune when he broke his front leg, just after we took him in, he is now insured and chipped. He is such a loving boy and a proper lap cat. I will have to try him with tin pilchards. Our first boxer Kim had these when she was a puppy and not eating very well, this was in the seventies, Amy is boxer number 6 we used to have them in two's

We,ve had lashing rain and sleet most of the day now and the orchard in the corner by my shed is flooded. My poor mauve crocus are only showing the tops of their flowers and they are the tall ones. The snowdrops are swiming in the muddy water too.

It can't hurt for G to have the test Ann. Oh had one a while ago. He has just come out here and turned the heating off cos he's hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well I shall just turn my oil filled rad on I keep in my desk well and warm my legs up.......lovely.

Going to fight my way round to the big girls now and give them some corn. If I am not back on here in about a quarter of an hour ring for a search party as I may have been blown away. :-S :-S :-S :-S :-S

Jane Report 6 Feb 2016 16:14

Afternoon Everyone
Hat and me are back :-D.. No Mandy it didn't grimy as I didn't take it out.I couldn't fit it in my handbag for one thing, and Hannah thought I was bonkers LOL
I just did the pic on the train(well spotted Mandy ,it was first class). It is actually really cheap if booked far enough ahead and also with using my senior rail card. There was only one man in the carriage and he was further down facing the other way so I whipped Hat out of my case quickly and took the pic. There was me thinking no-one could see me but as Chris says there is probably CCTV :-S :-S
I took 2 more pics. One of it on my pillows in the hotel (hotel was awful :-S) and then one this morning in the restaurant where Hannah and I had breakfast at St Pancras.
There are so many people around in London .Not like where Chris was ,where he could snap away with not a soul in sight. Love your idea Frank of everyone going away taking it LOL......But I have a feeling Hat my stay at home now..May change my mind when we go to France in May though ;-)

The show was absolutly fantastic.Eddie Izzard was amazing and just hilarious. He is such a very clever chap.We had face ache by the end and the whole audience just laughed non stop. The theatre was amazing.Beautiful in fact. The only problem was that it was so hot and the seats very small and so close together it was a squeeze even for a slim one like Hannah. We had a meal beforehand in Old Compton St.Heart of Soho.I love it there.Such a great atmosphere with 'all sorts' of folk :-D.Hannah had reserved a window seat so we had a great time people watching while eating and enjoying our bottle of wine :-D

The HOTEL :-S.......Well what can I say.It was just across the road from Kings Cross Station and I think mainly people just stay for a night before maybe getting a train somewhere.Anyway we signed in at reception and were told our room was right there.(Right next to reception). It felt a bit like student accomodation ,very basic. But it was clean and the beds were comfy. It was in the middle of the night at 3 .30 I woke to some commotion going on in Reception.Someone was kicking off big time and the person on duty was trying to get him out.I think the police were called to remove the man who was causing trouble.Hannah seemed to think he might have been drunk and trying to get a room.Anyway after that sleep was not good as I apparently started major snoring.I lost count of how many times she called out to me to shut up or to turn over !!.I think we both felt like wrecks when we got up at 8...I think Chris feels a bit bad now as it was him who booked that Hotel ....at least we now know never to stay in that area again.Hannah says it will be the haunt of prostitues, druggies and down and outs.I think she was right.

I sent the pic of Hat to Chris too when I was on the train :-DHe messaged me back saying I was a Hat Rustler lol

Liz that phone call must have scared you badly. But I am so pleased that your worries have lessened somewhat no after speaking to your SIL. I am sure all will be fine for Ian . <3

Oh dear Ann, How old is Timmy?..It is always a worry when our pets just stop eating and get lethargic.A day or 2 is ok but longer than that is when it starts to be a bit concerning. I do hope all will be well with him.

Gill I hope the builder chap comes back to you with an offer .He did sound quite interested from what you say.

Ann how is FIL today? I see from your post he had slipped back a bit :-(

Mel you talking about scones..I haven't had a scone in a few years.Mum used to make the best ones.My Sister does great ones and I only can manage rubbish ones.(So I don't make them any more.
How do you all pronounce SCONES....I say Scons ,,others say Scowns.....Scons is right :-D :-D

Thanks to everyone on here for your kind words, and good luck Ann to your OH with his numbness test. PSA could be a good idea, it certainly can't hurt!!!
This day is beyond belief!!!

Annx Report 6 Feb 2016 15:57

Afternoon All,

My what a miserable, lashing down with rain one it is. I'm sat here with the wind howling and light and heating on! OH is quite MAD and has gone to a match on an artificial pitch so he will be arriving home later like a drowned rat!

Hug for (Frank)! :-) Ros's quilt does sound like a beauty and I look forward to seeing it. I love the quilting she does but don't think I would have the patience.......I'm sure my corners wouldn't meet up right!! :-S I hope you sleep better tonight and Mandy's suggestion might help too!

Liz you sound a lot better today so the talking seems to have helped. I think it is human nature that our minds go into overdrive at these times. It is quite a few years since OH had a test so I'll mention it to him next time he goes to the docs. He will be back there soon as he has been referred for more tests to do with the numbness he gets and is waiting for a bone density test too.

It's good Amy's medicine seems to be working Anne and I hope Timmy soon picks up and gets his appetite back. I was thinking he may have found and eaten something that wasn't good for him or that he got a bug from but it's best to be sure.

Yes warm scones are lovely aren't they and home made are the best. One of the garden centres near here does some mouthwatering huge cheese ones that are nice though. :-)

Still got my fingers crossed for you Gill and it does seem there is more interest in your place again now. I wonder how today's viewing went?

magpie Report 6 Feb 2016 15:13

Well we're back! We had a lovely lunch and were going on somewhere else, but it's SO wet and windy that we came home!! Ian is having a snooze, and Cas is playing with her ring!!
My cousin tells me that in Australia they recommend that all men over 60 have a PSA test every three years, bit like mammograms here, but then their health system is different to ours which I suppose puts a different light on the matter! Perhaps you ought to have one Frank, it's worth a thought!
Yes Mandy, we feel much more positive today. SIL pointed out that it could be one of one or two things causing this rise, or it could early stage recurrence which is easily dealt with. The treatments have improved so much even since Ian had his prostatectomy, so it's been downgraded from a worry to a niggle!! :-)

Afternoon all
What a dreary old day it's cloudy and we have that fine drizzle in the air ,i don't think it will be long before we light the wood burner it doesn't seem that cold but the fire will make it more cheerful.

I'am longing to see the bed cover Ros has made ,if it's as good as the childrens ones then it's going to look smashing .
Take yourself out tonight Frank have a few pints and a whisky night cap ,perhaps it will help you get a good nights sleep.

Liz, i hope you've enjoyed your lunch out today and it sounds as if the little chat with your SIL has helped to ease both your minds a little .

Your girls will be keeping in with this wind Mel they won't want to get their feathers ruffled in the wind .
Are they Cheese Scones or Fruit ones you buy ? i haven't made scones for a while ,nothing better than warm scones fresh from the oven .
When i was at home and we had our little cat Jenny she would have pilchards ,i remember mum giving her them and then she wouldn't eat any thing else !!

Hope todays viewing goes well Gill ,yesterdays sounded quite promising with the builder .
Have a nice rest tomorrow ,you've been on the go all week .

I'am glad the medicine is helping your Amy Anne ,so it's towels at the ready when she comes home all muddy :-D why is it that they wait until they get in the door before they have a good old shake ,that sends mud everywhere :-S
Hope Timmy picks up ,perhaps he's eaten some thing outside that hasn't agreed with him .

Does Jane come home with " HAT " today ? i hope it hasn't got all grimy from the Big Smoke !! :-D :-D

Hope FIL is feeling a little better today Ann .

I hav'nt eaten anything yet either Frank. I shall do a nice salad with a slice or two of the nice ham I also bought up the hsop. Keith in the hsop sys if he could have a perfume like the smell of his ham he would be a rich man. It always smell delishous (sp) Frank I got the rolls but I missed the scones by 5 mins as the last pack was sold to the customer before me!!!!!! B*m. I shall have to make some now if I want one. Yes I remember that one Frank.

Anne we always tempted our cat on a tin of pilchards if they would'nt eat. My grandfather always fed his cat pilchards mashed up with a bit of bread. My nan called that cat Mel much to mums disgust but I did get it for them. It was a huge tabby short coated. Hope your Timmy is ok and just a bit off and nothing else is wrong with him. <3

Morning all

Liz I am pleased to hear your SIL has been able to put you and Ian's minds at rest.
Enjoy your pub lunch today

It's been raining here again this morning and quite windy but not at all cold.

The medicine Amy is on seems to be working, now it's stopped raining Richard is going to take her for a forest walk so she is going to come back muddy :-| :-|.

I have just made an appointment for Timmy to see the vet on Monday afternoon he seems to have gone right off his food and all he wants to do is sleep. I have tried everything to tempt him to eat, fresh fish and chicken breasts cut up really small but he just turns his head away. As he always had such a big appetite much more than Toby and Shadow makes it all the more worrying .

Gill good luck with the viewing the one yesterday seems more positive. Do make sure you have something to eat earlier on today.

Morning my littlr RAIN DROPS, Evening Kim,

What a horrible morning.Rain and wind lashing against the Conservatory windows.

Margaret rang this morning, the quilt/throw is all finished and she says it looks "BEAUTIFULL" She had left it on a spare double bed, this morning with the natural light the colours stood right out. Ros will collect it later this afternoon. with a nice bouquet of flowers. <3 <3

I was so tired last night that I was in bed by 10.00 pm. What a waste of time, I was in the lounge again at 12.15 am. Read my book till 2.30 and dozed off once back in bed. At 5.00 am I got thr CRAMP in my left Thigh and that was it for me for the night. I will need MATCHSTICKS to stay awake today.

Thanks for your pm Liz, It got me thinking, that perhaps I should have a check up as it's over 12 years since I had one. !!!

Mel, Nice granary rolls, YES PLEASE. I haven't eaten today yet. It's a bit late for breakfast. Ros will bring fresh rolls home with prawn salad snd fresh salad from Morrison's. I will have mine when I come back from thr match. (I hope Tony is going or I will stay at home)

Another old saying was "TO GET AHEAD GET A HAT" Do you remrember that Mel.?? A van use to drivr around Woodford Bridge with a sign on the back "WE DYE TO LIVE" they were dry cleaners and dyers.

Hope the "HAT" is enjoying London. !!! I can see Jane putting it on if this weather persists .

Have a "GOOD DAY" and stay out of this rain.

Morning all and evening Kim,

Lashing rain against the windows this morning with the wind blowing it everywhere. Its dull and cold.

I am pleased to see Liz posting. Have a nice day out even though the weathers bad you will enjoy a lunch out. My thoughts are with you both.

Iv'e certainly nothing planned for today. I have to go to the shop for my paper and a few bits like some of their nice granary rolls. Oh dos'nt like brown bread of any kind. May get some scones if they have any left and we can have those with a cuppa later.

Must get the steak out the freezer for tonight.

Gill hope you get some feedback from the builder chap who veiwed yesterday. That could have sounded promising.

Both feeling a lot better this morning after a good nights sleep and a long chat with my SIL who is a retired hospital manager, specialising in urology (she started her nursing career in the QAs and worked her way up through the ranks) and she was very sensible and comforting! Prostate cancer is very slow growing and has one of the best treatment outlooks of all the cancers. OHs recurrence almost certainly can be got on top of, although the treatment maybe a bit tedious, but we can both cope with that!
Horrible wet morning here, so we're planning to go out, have a pub lunch and generally get with it!! :-)

Evening all,

Mandy and Ann thanks so much for your kindest words, I had tears in my eyes reading your comments.

Liz, I do hope the Iain is O.K. Can't you chase up his appointment, April seems a long way away.

The trouble with the throw is that the stich on the back was all ruffed up. It had to be unpicked. Margaret rang this evening to say she was working on it tonight, so hopefully it will be sorted out, and Ros will get it back soon. I must admit it did look nice. When I send a photo, you will be able to make up your own minds.

Gill, Get yourself something to eat. You can't keep going on an empty fuel tank ;-) ;-) ;-). I hope the builder chap finds the bungalow a good project for his next exercise.

Ros is watching Mr S. I can't watch it, and never had. Not very nice to sit in the conservatory tonight, so will have a look round ebay and facebook. You can find some funny video's on there sometimes, some I share with my friends.

Carolyn Skyped this evening, she showed us the sunshine and blue sky. We were sitting looking out on a dark evening <3 <3

I hope I get a good nights sleep tonight. I am in my dressing gown, and won't be long before I am in the land of NOD.

See you in the morning, good night all.

It's been quite a cloudy day here ,we have had Lacey here this afternoon she had lunch and her tea here and we have just taken her home ,i had to pick her up from nursery as son and DIL wanted to go to Norwich to do some shopping and as Lacey comes home at lunch time they wouldn't have been back in time to pick her up but as it happened poor little Katie was sick so they didn't go in the end .

We didn't see Dad's Army today after all as I didn't think there was enough time for me to get from beading class to meet OH at the cinema. Maybe next week. :-)

My bowel test kit arrived today.......!! I wonder what other test kits we'll get in the future.
