Got g/father 1885 born in Hackney to John Harris & Elizabeth Atkins Married in Islington I know when he was born & married & he had 4 daughters Florance May 1910 Elizabeth 13/12/1911, Dudley Ethel 20th/06/1914 London & my mother 28/10/1919.London. I found Ethel born in London Elizabeth in Dudley & my mum in Whitechaple London I cant find any think eles about him He was a soldier when he married in May 1915 in Islington London were he went after he came home from war i dont knowwere he went how do i find this out

I think a problem might have been that readers weren't really sure what you were looking for. It is wise to put as much info in your post as you have and be specific about what you're looking for.

There's a rule at this site that a request should be posted only once. Otherwise, different people may spend (waste) time doing the same research.

You should go back to that thread and add a message to it explaining what you know and what you would like help with.

Click on "My threads" over on the left of your monitor and that will find you a list of the messages you have posted. Click on that other one, then click on the purple "Reply" button up at the top of it, to open the box for adding a message.

When you do that, your request will move up to the top of the list and hopefully someone seeing it will be able to offer some help.

It's also wise to pay careful attention to spelling, when it comes to names. In this post, you have called him both Harris and Harries. It seems Harris is correct.

Elizabeth Atkins form Shoreditch in london her father was a woodchooper which means she was 27 when married.

Just a note that if Elizabeth were widowed or estranged from John after 1915, she might have registered your mum's birth in his name, even if he wasn't the father. These things did happen even then, and especially in wartime.

There isn't a single death for a John H Harris born about 1885 in England/Wales up to 1969, but there are a couple for a John Henry Harris after 1969 (when full names were included in the index).
