Ice ~ Ice ~ Baby Report 3 Sep 2010 12:33

Hi Ya

Firstly thank you to all who have shown their support and care and to who have sent me pm's they have mean't a lot to me.

I have had to start a new thread i am afraid as my other thread i cant find it - and i have switched on this morning and it is no longer in my book marks

So not sure what has happened to it ....

Regarding update :- My doctor has prescribed stronger painkillers as i am still in pain all the time but the new painkillers are working slightly in the fact they are taking the edge of the pain just about.

I have received my scan appointment this morning on day of scan i have got to drink 2 pints of water before i go ..

My first scan will be of stomach and pelvic bone - it is same scan used as when you are pregnant

Second scan is a Transvaginal which i have never ever heard of but apparantley it will all be scanned using probes so i think this one will be slightly embarassing to go through ..

But scan is on 20th September so i have not got long to wait which is a good thing results will be sent to gp within 14 days of scan

So i am still playing the waiting game.

But thanks again to all who have shown their support

Will look in later off to dreaded H*******K

Good luck with the scan anyway, at least you are getting somewhere.

Thats Good News and not to far away. Hopefully they will then do something more for you.
A Transvaginal Scan is like an internal scan, so Yes a little embarassing but gives a better picture.

Good Luck

Embarrassing?

I'm having a colonoscopy on Tuesday.

Who wins?

;)

Good luck with it all, and hopefully you get a diagnosis and treatment plan very soon!

Just to add good luck with that Janey as well, don't think there are any winners though.
Although maybe Daff could trump both of you. (see her thread for info)

However each person's ordeal at the hands of the medical profession is their own worst thing to endure, I wish you all good results.

I am not looking forward to the scan but at least hopefully it will show the problem up.

I have got to see the Gynacologist after i think but my Gp said she will tell me more after the scan

But she said an operation is looking likely

The treatment for this in the fifties was a simple womb scrape. They probably do something else now. I had a scrape for a different reason and it was not particularly bad.

I had a D&C too, as I was telling IIB while wishing that she too could have a wrong diagnosis of endometriosis and have pelvic inflammatory disease instead (as I did). It fixed what I had right smartly.

Unfortunately, endometriosis often involves other organs and areas of the abdomen, and with pain as severe as IIB's that's possible.

Getting the right diagnosis will be half the battle over, hopefully.
