Hi Everyone

Sorry i havent been for a while the whole family have been ill im afraid with one thing & another & things have been going wrong in the house grr

I went to the hospital today & they have re - done my blood test to double check the result from last time for Macrocystosis - ( Enlarged Red Blood Cells )

They have also done some other blood tests today checking kidney & full blood count

The have also given me some movitol sachets to take to try & help with going to the toilet ..

I am also now waiting for an appointment as they want me to have a ctc scan with contrast (dye) done to see if this shows anything else going on in my stomach & to see if there is anymore cysts in there which could also be causing me pain

I am also being sent to see a Neurologist as they think that after an examination & with all my symptoms they think the nerves are all damaged in my stomach - so they will when the appointment comes help me with pain relief .

I am to see my doctor again on the 13th August as blood results should be back by then & to see if morphine can be increased ...

I am a little worried regarding blood as you only usually get results like this if there is a foliate or vitamin 12 deficiency - your an alcoholic or you have diverticulitis - but i dont drink so that rules them out

But i was tested for all these march and nothing showed up

So bloods have got to wait till im over the flu but i suppose they would have acted if there was anything too serious so i will have to wait and see

Poor Clare, it never rains but it pours, all your problems and the flu as well, probably your immune system has taken a battering. I hope you get more information when you visit the bowel specialist who will be able to advise re IBS I should hope.

I hope you are keeping well & staying safe with all the awful weather we all seem to be having ..

I went to see my doctor on 5th has arranged - It seems i have two slightly slipped disks in lower part of my back on the right hand side this is contributing to some of the pain - but they are not to worried about this at the moment but i am being referred to a specialist for it.

They still do not know what is causing the pelvic pain & stomach at the moment - so i am being referred to another specialist for this.

I have got my appointment on the 2nd August with the bowel specialist so hopefully will find out a bit more then

My blood tests however are showing slight concern as l have a reading of 100.1 for Vitamin B12 & foliate why this is is not known as there was no signs when i had blood done before my op in March

The reason i need them re doing is for Macrocystosis - enlarged red blood cells so i need to have bloods re done but they cant be done at the moment due to im suffering from the flu and a chest infection & throat infection

The doctor also thinks i am suffering from Irritable bowel syndrome although there is no specific test for this yet again should know more when i see the bowel specialist

I am now on 2 tablets of morphine 20mg in the morning & 2 tablets on the night time at 20mgbut must leave a gap of 12 hours between morning & night time ones

I am allowed 8 tablets maximum of paracetamol in between should i need them


No other news yet will update as soon as i know more bu thank you all for all your support

I will see what my doctor says on the 5th but i am sure it is fine as you say x

If it is not for another 10 days I would think they are right to say no cause for concern Clare. <3 <3

I am ok mate thank you i received a letter today to say i need my blood test re - done on the 10th July it doesn't say why just no reason to be concerned

So i am not worried about it but i will mention when i see my doctor on the 5th as i have an appointment then .

I will update you when i have seen my doctor x

I think it is just the thought of possibly having to have a bag fitted but as you say i would get used to it

I just wish i could have a day pain free at the moment

Hi Clare, so sorry that you are still having problems and are still in pain. I know it is not a nice thought that there is a possibility of a colostomy bag, but if it comes to that you will cope. My Mum had one fitted when she was 81 and she coped very well with it even going away to hotels for breaks, it didn't cramp her style.

Here's hoping that when you see the specialist they will have better news for you. <3

Hi ya not sure if the hosp have pain management department -

I have just put on morphine & i have got see my gp next week she did say see how i get on with it - & if it needs increasing then she will do it

So it will probably need increasing next week bt thanks for the advice mate i will ask my gp about what you said

I have just seen your updates. Im sorry you are in so much pain. Has your hospital got a pain management dept. Many hospitals do have them. Prehaps your GP could fax through a referal to see if you could be seen and at least get your pain meds sorted so you get some relief. Hopefully the GI dept will be able to help when you see them in August

I have had my hospital appointment come today i have got to see a gastroenterologist on the 2nd August so not long about 4 weeks to wait
