This is from a ‘High Blood pressure’ cook book, which you could adapt. If you juggle the orange/fruit juices, it can swamp out the taste of fish if OH doesn’t like it. You could omit the fresh fruit and just use cartoned orange juice and bottled lemon juice. |

By the way, I am almost sure that pork is also considered to be red meat. |

Yes we have rice cakes over here. A bit like cardboard but not too bad with some toppings. |

Thank you for your suggestions. He loves omelets. I'm trying to put together a couple of weeks worth of menus so that we don't get that bored feeling about what we are eating and get tempted back to the dark side:-) Eating out is going to be a problem too but I'm sure the odd treat won't do him any harm. |

My o.h. eats less red meat now he is diabetic but doesn't mind chicken or fish in moderation, we have pork sausages often but baked in the oven and the good ones with little fat and leek, apple or other things added for variety. Does you o.h. mind salmon or is it all kinds of fish? Some people don't like it because of the bones but it's easy to get fish with no bones in these days or just one or two large ones which you could maybe (excuse the pun) fish for before serving lol |
