Dry here today Shaun, and sunny, but quite cool because of the strong wind, that is also battering my garden.
It poured with rain during the night.
I have spent the day emptying a huge bookcase in the lounge, ready for decorating after the fireplace goes in. There are so many books, but just a fraction of what's upstairs, and some are very heavy too. I really must get rid of some now, but hate parting with any of them.

Hello Sallie - Good to see you here again. Sorry to hear about your water problem.
We had a leak last year. Sitting in the kitchen one morning drinking our coffee, we heard the boiler ignite, which was strange as there was no one else here to be drawing hot water. Suddenly water started pouring through the ceiling light fittings.
Panic stations :-D.
It turned out to be a burst joint in the shower. What a mess, and then having to repair the joint in a very awkward place to get at - never mind, we live to tell the tale.

it was nice and sunny on Thursday, but was drizzly and cloudy most of today (Friday), until the sun came out in the middle of the afternoon.


This has been a busy week ..........................

Monday .......... had dentist's appointment ........ just for 6 monthly check-up and cleaning. So my teeth are all shiny white, and no other treatment needed :-D :-D

Tuesday .............. physio appointment, with lunch at the Japanese place across the street from the clinic, and then meeting OH in the coffee shop next door to that :-D

Wednesday ............ 6 monthly appointment with financial advisor, to check on our finances. If we live longer than another 15 or 20 years, we might have to get the daughter to support us in the manner to which we have become accustomed :-D :-D

Thursday ............ last minute decision made on Wednesday afternoon to get a company to come in and clean our carpets. Fine, said they, we can come between 2 and 4 pm tomorrow afternoon (ie Thursday)

That meant rapid removal of ornaments, valuables, lamps, coffee tables, plants, small furniture, books, etc from 3 rooms (plus the hall way)

They came on time, and did a super job. The products they use are citrus-based, and there was a lovely smell of oranges as they worked away

Now we have to get everything back in order.


We've always cleaned the carpets ourselves ........ this was the first time I've used a carpet cleaning company. But we got a good deal ..............

$147 for 3 "areas", and a 4th area free.

That equals around £60 - 65

Shaun I don't have much hope with Atos even though my DR has writen a letter for me to send to them with form. So many people have been knocked back by them after assessment ( as I was last time I was on ESA ) the only difference this time is if they say I'm fit for work I am going to appeal their decision.

I hope you are all well and coping ok, not up to chatting but thought I should let my friends know I'm still around :-)

To answer your question, does the support help, no difference what so ever it's just to get people back into work through having a medical test, if you pass the medical you are put in the support bracket and if you have failed the medical your put in the work bracket .
You said that your tummy his still playing up, although food can up set you ,worry and stress will also pay a part in tummy problems.

Sylvia, are you behaving out there, any sunshine with you.

Bethan, sounds if you have been busy busy with your painting, have you thought about giving your Leo and Nutkins a brush.

Tec, “ Maud his not going in the garden” for some reason when Dad misled something in the garden he would always blame Maud, the times I have heard him saying “ Maud's been here again” because he had lost something.
It's a comfort to know that it's not just be that looses a saucepan full of veg when draining them.

Sallie, sorry to read that you have had a water leak, hope it's done no serious damage , having to replace a carpet is bad enough. Hope you are all okay.
Since I have been on chrome I have had no problems with GR.

Hazel, lovely to see you post. I'm very chuffed for you in having a doctor that understands your health issues and is also going to help you with your appeal., I never had much faith with your other doctor.

Diane, hope things are okay with you and this atos is not causing you to much worry.

Afternoon all ,
Well I have had a busy day gym at 9 am and shopping then home cleaning and phone calls and Dr appointment later as shoulder and arm have been hurting me for a while and getting pains in fingers and at times painkillers aren't helping so bf has told me off and made me make appointment .

We have had some good news through rumours so nothing defo ....... One of my friends knows the chavs next door brother and noticed some comments from the chav on his page so my mate had a look at chav own page on there she was going on about changing her life and one thing is she is wanting to move by Aug :-D :-D :-D I am praying this will happen so if it does it looks like we have won .

I did watch the cat programme on BBC2 it was funny as about half way through Leo sat on edge of chair and watched show was very interested then he noticed we were watching him so he went to bed lol I would love to put GPS on Leo but no point with Nutkin as she goes only garden or next door lol Leo does seem to be a little unwell with his eyes so if nothing improves over weekend it's the vet for him , last time he was there he attacked a dog .....

Jude: How are you feeling today ?

Tec: I am being good paint wise instead of doing a all day session I do an hour or two so at least it means it done right and no bits missed :-)

Hi Shaun and all

Just popping in to say it went well with new doctor yesterday. She is going to do me a letter for ATOS and ESA, She also cant understand why my old doctor didn't do a good letter for me.So looking good so far. She has also changed my pain killers tablets. But I have been getting a lot of pain in my middle back, she touched it and it was so painful I all most passed out. said its the osteoarthritis that's getting worst. Also hands are getting very bad as well.

Duane has gone to live with his dad as things getting bad at his ex girlfriends. She has her mother there that's just as bad as her don't do anything apart from smoke and drink tea. She don't like it as Duane wont let he smoke in the house. So hopin the daughter keeps that up. as not good for kids.

Teri and Caitlin still in BB but getting higher on the list for a place. They can Bid more now for a place.

I am looking forward to holiday. I have got a coz coming up sometime over the next 2 months as just got to find a day we are both free. I have lots of info for him

Well will keep looking in and post when I can

Hello everyone, sorry not been on for a while, but I’ve had a few problems trying to answer both Mo and Shaun’s threads. Each time I got onto a page, the blinking thing just froze and the only way I could get off was to go back to the Community Boards each time. Tuesday, I managed to get onto Mo’s thread and actually wrote a long reply and had almost finished when I lost the whole lot.

We’ve also had a few problems with the water pipes, after the bathroom suite was in....one of the pipes burst open and flooded the bathroom and the downstairs toilet which also affected the light in there, so Alun had to switch the electric off at the mains and dismantle the ceiling light.

On Sunday we found that the water had somehow seeped through the wall from the downstairs toilet into the dining room into the carpet, so we have to have a new carpet in there. We went to the shop that we have bought our carpets from ever since we have been living here, luckily the carpet we like was in stock so they are coming to fit it for us on Monday morning. I’m afraid it has been one of those weeks.....never mind, things could be a lot worse. lolol!!!


Shaun, hope that you and OH are both alright, and are managing to get some gardening done

Bethan, sorry that I missed your birthday, hope you had a lovely day.

Shaun - I can imagine the air was blue when you spilt the radish seeds :-(
I have disasters all the time - OH no longer jumps when she hears another cup, saucer, plate etc bite the dust on the kitchen floor. Pretends to be deaf when I swear as I knock another cup of coffee flying across the kitchen table.
Yesterday while draining the peas into the sink, the lid of the saucepan slipped, and I lost the lot into the sink.....then had to pick them out of the plughole :-(.

Von - I am sorry to see that your SIL is so ill. I believe the first few days after a stroke are the most important with speech therapy and getting limbs working again. I hope that she is getting good attention on the stroke ward, and can make as good a recovery as possible. Best wishes to her, and you all.

AnnG - have a good holiday in Lansarote - my sister is there at the moment.
She visits a friend who lives there several times a year.

Bethan - Sounds like you enjoyed your birthday. The painting seems to be coming on well - every bit done is a bit less to do, but don't overdo it will you. Just watching a programme about cats on BBC2 - I expect Nutkin and Leo are watching too.

Jude - Glad that Madoc passed his tests ok - sounds like Roscoe wants dunking in the bath lol.

A right old mixture of weather today, rain, sunshine, wind...not too cold though. Washing is on the line still in hope it will dry.

Been busy painting landing and hallway today and put some pictures up in those rooms just need to do edges as some are very high so need someone to do that for me , this evening BF parents invited us over for tea so just got home from being fed and watered :-D

AnnGlos: Tbh mine was sore when I caught it and I did find myself biting down a few times and when I did wow it made me stop , the edge wore off within a few days but about a month later only time I felt anything is when I got something caught in between my teeth (that tooth being one) I bit down hard and suddenly it was painful but once I sorted it nothing else was felt , you should notice a difference by weekend though :-) If your case is under weight it means you can take me with you :-D

l'm ok, saw sister this afternoon for lunch and she was about the same. Had my counselling session at 4pm, sis had hers at 2pm....bloodyhell what are we like.

AnninG, I think you have met me at the Bristol meet many years ago. I was there with my daughter. It would be great to meet again though.

Ann G -thank you for your message about my SIL. She is younger than me so all of this has come as a bit of a shock although of course a stroke can happen at any age.

Yvonne - Yes Uxbridge library is closed for refurbishment and will be shut for some time yet.
They haven taken over a couple of empty shops so have a reduced service.
If you pm me the exact areas you need to look at I will ask at other libraries.
The British Library at St. Pancras have a complete collection of electoral registers that you can search but you need to phone ahead so they can get the years that you need as they don't have them all on site

Yvonne, thanks for holiday wishes. Sometimes it is good to have a week at home just pottering. We have had two weeks at home doing the garden. When we come back we will do it all again.

Yes fine rain here so no need to water the garden before we go thank goodness. Can tick that off my list of things to do. Nearly all done now.

I hope you and Jude have a lovely chat when you meet up. Doesn't look as if we will be getting down to Dorset this year I'm sad to say. But one day we will meet.
