To a dear friend.
Now high above the tree tops And way above the sea At rest with all past loved ones Your Family History
For all of us who knew you For all of us who cared We'll miss you....our dear Lara And the friendship that you shared
Although you left us suddenly No chance to say goodbye And passed by...o'h so quickly To greet a morning sky
So follow that winding staircase And to help you on your way A shimmering glow will guide you Towards the light of Day,O'day,O'dea
And somewhere in this Universe The hugs and kisses flow Held in the arms of all eternity Of family long ago
So sleep now,and in peace, our friend We'll meet again i'm sure When the branches of our tree's Reach up to heavens door.
Rest in Peace mate....Tony xx <3

Vale Lara, the original Wattler - Lara named the thread - killed in a car accident yesterday. Lara, you loved, laughed and kept at the family history, but most of all it is your great heart and tenacity and love of those you cared for which endears you to our hearts and makes us weep for the loss of you, dear friend. Adieu and thank you for bringing so many of us together as Wattlers - we can thank you for our enduring friendships

Morning from Melbourne City as we move into a much more cooler Autumn weather. Think we broke every record in the book this summer gone with temps reaching over the limit for days/weeks on end. Even our little island of Tassie broke a few heat records. Gearing up for our upcoming trip to Hawaii next month, and looking forward to a relaxing holiday. I will be booking a tour to visit Pearl Harbour among other various tours, while the girls go shopping crazy. Two of my four daughters and two grand-kids have decided to join us on this trip. Its an approx.10 hr plane flight from the east coast of Ozzie, and we first fly domestic from Melb to Sydney and transfer to International from Sydney to Honolulu.
One item I will purchase over there will be a electric Steel Lap Hawaiian guitar....something I have always wanted. Just have to decide if I want a six string or eight :-S ...I could buy one here in Oz but there is a certain type I am interest in, and they would be a lot cheaper over there. Have played the Guitar since I was a young bloke, as did my father, but I love the sound of the Hawaiian.
Have finally come to an end with my family history research, or should I say I have decided to come to an end...lol Don't really think you ever really finish searching, but I have exhausted all avenues, and after 40 odd years of this wonderful hobby its time to send all my info to the print shop and have it made into books/albums. Received my first book of eight albums back last week, and did display it on the Facebook site, as I know most peeps from here are on Facebook now days... Even GR are there.. :-)
AFL footy has started and my team Collingwood ( Magpies ) are off to a reasonable start :-D Also being a avid golf follower I was very happy to see our young Aussie Adam Scott take out the masters yesterday.....something we have never won, so a great boost for Aussie golfers here.
Still picking the last of my Tomatoes off the vine, but the morning frosts are happening in Melb. so will clean up the Veg patch this weekend ready for some winter plants.
Hope everyone is well in your neck of the woods.........and its ALOHA from me.
Av a good un;-)
Tony :-D

afternoon everyone ,and Tony who is just coming down to earth after the win in the golf he he ,well done to the player who had that bit extra on the day with some brilliant play. Been rather ill of late Zack ,this new type of flu that keeps coming back when you think it has at last given up and gone away grrrrrrr. I have been through four lots of antibiotics of different strengths ,and think i may be on top of it at last, but the missus got it worse than me and nearly landed up in the hospital ,it being so bad that her Empysema stated to kick in ,causing no end of problems for her . Any way ,looks like we are still okay for the trip to Liverpool this weekend ,but we are taking emergency supplies of standby anti bi's in case it comes back again while we are down there. with a six month winter Zack ,the garden is way behind this year ,but i have managed to get it started okay ,starting with my collapsible bags of potatoes ,6 so far ,all going into the back on the patio as i get them filled up . :-). The two big barrels will be filled as usual when we get back home after the holiday, and we will be using charlotte again ,not even seed potatoes ,but ones we buy to eat ,the ones npot selected to chit ,going into the cooking pot.i is after all ,the grandson of tight assed scots ,and irish .lol. All my other seeds are in ready to start sowing as soon as we come home ,and the tomato seeds are already in ,under two covered trays. The way my legs are going ,this may be the last year of gardening ,so i may be down to my boxes for my onions and leeks ,and potatoes ,tomatoes, greenhouse stuff. I am now reduced to having a gardener in to do my hedges and lawns :-( which ,after a lifetime of two allotments and a huge garden and four greenhouses , comes darned hard to accept help, but there you go ,age is no respecter of persons. Know what you mean about the cooking as well ,my usual is a jacket tattie ,bung in the oven easy ,hassle free and darned tasty 45 minutes in a combination microwave ,and you have a nice crispy outside ,fluffy in side jacket to stuff as you please he he. have to go and start some tea ,maybe yet a jacket ,with some bacon and cheese mayo. :-D. Take care all ,catch you later ,Fred The missus and that darned cat.xxxx

Hi Fred , June and Tony If you should look in, , The Sydney Swans AFL team have started well how is Collingwood going Tony I haven't had time to watch any of the games.there are not enough hours in the day for all the things I need to do, I usually only get to open my puter every 2nd day just so busy lately ,and our daylight hrs.are getting shorter coming into winter soon. Badger my Beans , I got a nice crop but so far only the one flush and so far no more flowers so I guess there wont be any more for us this year' I think the night's have been too cool.also my lettuce the heads were pretty lousy I have but some more in Cabbage cauli and brocolli doing well the cabbage moth has been bad I made another Clotch ?? I am using moscuito netting.
I wish I had some one to cook for me Badger I am so tired these days .I guess it is a sign of what is to come I will be 74 in May.I am still doing Gym twice a week Mondays I tutor Older People in Singing it is called Singing for Pleasure I get as much pleasure as they do, they tell me they look forward to coming each week
June do you have a favorite A F L team, when we lived in Melbourne we used to follow Collingwood all our boys played Ozzie rules Our local team is called , The Bathurst Bushrangers, we won the Premership last year we have a very good team again this year. My grandson plays he is 6ft.7 1/2ins he plays in the ruck. I am a club member :-) <3 Hoping you are all well :-) Kindest Regards Marie ;-) <3

hi to all ,and hope everyone is having a nice peaceful Easter ,with no hassles or young ones hyper active after too much choccie ,lol. We are getting on as best we can Zack ,nothing away in the greenhouse yet ,as it's too plurry cold ,he he. I have a new capillery matt to put down over the old one to increase the insulation on top of the seed benching ,and i took in a bag of potting compost two days ago ,so ,this afternoon i will sort out the small covered seed tray and set my Tomato seeds away ,but it's far too late for the onion and big leek seed ,and this year i will have to seetle for what i can buy in plant form , :-( and make do with those.bu**er ,he he . i will of course manage okay with the brassica ,being able to choose later varieties that i can sow in late April and still get a crop, but beans ,looks like we do without this year ,or take a chance and sow straight outside. snow is still around and there is no way we can afford to heat the greenhouse these days with the price of oil grrrrrrr ,wish Tony was closer so that i could nick a small place to start my seedings off in Oz ,he he the size of his garden i'm sure he could spare a small place in his greenhouse for a couple of weeks. I hope the weather will be okay when he goes on holiday ,there are some weird weather traits over Indonesia at the moment too .hopefully gone by the time he gets over there ;-). The missus had a set to with a cardboard box a week ago ,which finished up slicing her skin and peeling it back on her left leg ,turned nasty too ,and she is having it dressed by the practice nurse at the moment to try and heal it up. what with that ,and the eldest daughter tripping over one of those blind ,rough, bobbled ,kerb stones at a traffic light and doing her right ankle ,and spending two hours at the hospital while they checked it out [badly sprained with a cracked bone, she is now in one of those special boots until it heals, the hospital wouldn't do a plaster with her living on the top floor of a five storey building. So at the minute i have two females to tote around shopping .me ,? i am watching where i put my feet MOST carefully ,indoors and out he he. Time now to get some dinner sorted out ,Tony ,a very nice hot Red curry on the go for tea today ,but you had better get your skates on ,first come ,first served ,only a spare chappaty for the late comers :-D. Catch you later all ,take care folks ,and ,be safe ..Fred And my two hobbites ,eeeeer that should read ,two hobblers :-Dxxx

Hello June , It is raining here to-day Easter Sunday, I hope you are having a nice Easter, and it is cool I got up early to do some work in the garden but ending up putting a track suite on as it is quite cool.
Mathilda is not a family name on my side or on my Daughter-in-laws family ,Ciara their first born suggested the name to her parents she is 4yrs. and has a friend Mathilda at pre school ,Sean & Nancy both liked the name.
It is looking a bit miserable outside, my floors need a clean so I think I will but my energies into that today, I also need to clean out my walk-in-wardrobe and get rid of all the things I don't wear , I have always been a bit slow at getting rid of my old clothes. My first Grandchild Sarah is to be Married next Saturday the 6 th. .April she will be the first of my grandchildren to marry, so I may end up with a Great grand child some time in the future.
I have 2 dresses one for a hot day the other for a chilly day , it looks like I may be wearing the warmer one. It is Royal Blue and I have only worn it once and no one here has seen it, The cool one is a green color with embroidery on it, strapless, with a long sheer coat also with embroidery on the bottom ,I have never worn it, I bought it years ago when my daughter and I were shopping for a formal gown for me to wear at her wedding ,as I walked my daughter down the isle at her wedding. My that is some time ago . Hello Badger ,if you should look in I hope you and your wife are having a nice Easter. Kindest Regards Marie <3

Hello all , especially June and badger , sorry to see on the tv news about all the snow you are having it must be so cold and your power bill would be very high, I do feel for you and your wife, you are doing the right thing getting your bath removed . When i had my bathroom built I had an invalid shower put into the bathroom no bathtub also taps for arthritic hands. We are having very nice Autumn weather the past few weeks, I have been spending as much time as possible in my garden, I have leeks, beans& tomatoes that I am picking ,I have planted more lettuce, cauliflower, cabbage and broccoli.I have also transplanted several shrubs as I have decided to put my roses into the garden they have been in pots for the last 5 years, they wont know themselves when their roots can spread out. I brought them from my last home.
Hi June mac ,I hope your hot weather is now finished and there won' t be any more tornadoes or bush fires this country as had enough , but we may end up having a very bad winter like the northern hemisphere I pray that we do not. It has been a very heavy week and I am feeling my age so I will say goodbye and God bless, have a Holy Easter Marie <3

Morning all ,and sorry to zack for no postings over the last four weeks ,we have both been having a lousy bout of the new flu ,which would not respond to treatment after the flu turned into a raging chest infection, this took three weeks to clear up .and both of us are worn out ,lol. Back on our feet proper now ,just in time for the snow to return ,so a later than ever start to our season nothing in the greenhouse at all in the way of seedlings ,and well into March ,crikey what a start to a year :-(. We managed to get out for shopping yesterday which is as well ,snowing like hell here again ,but at least i got a bargain at B & M ,a shopping outlet over here that sells all sorts of lines from house /garden furniture.kitchen pieces ,and i spotted a nice little collapsible mini greenhouse which ,being in a box small enough [just ] to put under my arm to get to the car and gets up to 6 foot high and big enough inside to take twelve trays of seedlings will enable me with this late start to the season to get all of my seeds put in all together to make up for lost time, the only thing i will have to buy ready started are my leeks and onions ,far too late to start the seeds off for these up here in the north. This may well be the last year for growing anything other than in the greenhouse ,and my boxes ,my leg and hips getting really bad now and i am getting as stiff as a rusty piece of metal ,lol. :-( Enjoy the newbie while you can lass ,before you know it she will be growing up fast ,and you will be having to fend the boys off every time she comes to visit :-) ,that's how fast the kids grow up these days, heck ,my two grand daughters are now engaged and are looking for their own places to live ,where on earth do the years go ?. see you have another Cyclone heading your way zack ,so i will keep my fingers crossed for you ,hopefully it will change course and miss you completely ,you have had enough rain and wind damage to last you for months. We have workmen coming over the next few months ,to adapt the house for two old codgers ,one of which can't get his leg over anymore ,[the side of the bath that is] he he, although the other is causing problems too ,lol, anyway ,i digress ,the workmen are putting in a wet room ,after taking the bath out from under the shower we had fitted last year,so that we can just walk in ,sit down and have a nice shower in comfort. The seat will be extra handy ,because when i wash my hair at the minute [what's left of it] i have to do it one handed ,my diabetes getting to the point that when i close my eyes ,my balance goes and i tend to fall over ,[ouch] :-(. Hope you enjoy the Pineapple country Tony but stop away from that Ruddy volcano ,it seems to be getting a little restless of late,a suntan is one thing mate ,but a singed Butt is another.,better hide your stash too ,otherwise you may find it getting depleted ,jut before your usual holiday too :-). Time to go ,and get the dinner ready ,before i start making the snags ,and burgers ready for the coming B B Q season ,[if it ever gets here ] but i brought 2 kilos of a lovely dark Oz beef yesterday ,enough to make 10 nice quarter pounders for grilling ,,AND found my Greek grilling cheese to go with them,we ,after the horse scandle do not buy burgers ready made any more ,but i am looking at some roo meat i found on a farm shop ,which i have tasted before ,hmmm.a few quarter pounders made of this would be nice too. Take care all ,and be safe .Fred,The Cat ,and the missusxxx :-D
