Hello all,
The break I was to have was cancelled as the rains caused more flooding, and the roads were closed ,maybe in a few weeks when the school holidays are over.

We have had some very nice weather the past few weeks , the nights are very cool and it wont be long and we will get the frosts.

I have very little to report nothing exciting happening, I do have a new granddaughter Mathilda she arrived on the 14 th. Feb.and is a very good baby
I hope you are all well .I suppose Tony you and family will be off to Pukket in a month or so, I am sure you will have a great time.
:-D
Kindest Regards
Marie <3

Well Well !!
It looks like I may have to talk to myself but just in case anyone should look in it is flooding again on our east coast several places are having their 2nd flood in as many weeks Poor Things. we are now getting rain from the very large depression that has dropped all the water on the east coast ,It was overcast and threatening rain but it started about Midday day to-day now at 11.40 pm we are having steady rain ,I do hope it stays around for another 24 hrs as my tanks need filling.

I am finally starting to pick my Grosse Lisse Tomato's, our days have been very warm to very hot but the nights have been unusually cold , my lettuce have been feeding the birds much to my dismay.

Life seems to be very busy what with Tutoring, lessons, Gym , Family + gardening, I go from 7am to nearly 8pm at night , however One never has time to feel lonely , which is great.

This week I am off to visit my Daughter Kerryann in Foster I will take my
swimmer 's 'in case it is hot enough to have a dip at the beach.
I am looking forward to the break I just hope the weather is a bit better there as they have had a lot of rain & flooding in the area.

I will say good night <3

Hi Badger,Tony ,Scozz,, junemac, Joy Kentish Maid with very little to say , but I do love your Smile Joy.

.How are you all, no doubt Badger you have heard about our Bush fires Floods and changeable weather, one day a cyclone next a flood and at the same time fires in Vic.we have it all & to add insult to injury one night we had a frost as well and a very cold wind the next day.

Recently our area on the Central Tablelands received some good soaking rain which has filled our tanks which were empty as it had been some time since we had had rain , we missed out on the rain from the cyclone , so I have water once more for my gardens.

It is time I got off my butt and did some weeding in the garden .
Take care friends
Love & Hugs

Morning to all from a very white ,ruddy freezin' Newcastle up in the frozen north ,lol, where i have decided caution is the better side of valour ,and ordered a taxi to take the wife to the hospital today ,no way am i taking the car out in this.
It is going to be a lot worse again by the weekend ,with lots more of the white stuff ,freezing fog and a very severe frost.
Senn on the news this morning that a helecopter has crashed in London after hitting a rooftop crane and exploding in flames in the street below.
It beggars belief that the airport where this chopper, was based, would allow low flying in misty to foggy conditions or even leave the ground ,i reckon heads are going to roll over this disaster.after a good few years working in forces control towers ,things seem a tad screwy with this scenario.
Hi Zack ,glad to hear you are still able to do a bit of gardening in those conditions and i.m suprised your pool hasn't dried up in the heat ,or the little critters havn't drunk it all he he.
Last time ,a couple of days ago ,i dried to dig out a few carrots for the dinner ,and very quickly gave up after the shocks came up the fork shaft and gave my wrist a right shock ,lol, next time i will use a blow torch first. :-(.
If it dosn't improve in a few days ,i will pick up the phone and order the shopping on line and let the stores drivers worry about the driving conditions.
Have you got some decent burgers you can spare Tone's ? after the news here this morning and the hoo haa with the horse meat in our burger meat industry ,i won't be buying any more frozen ones yuk , but ill buy fresh ones from my local farm where i get the poultry ,or make my own from fresh brought meat both beef ,and pork.
;-).
Time to get on with the work now but may get back later if my missus gives me time off for good behavior ,he he ,i started sucking up last evening by making a cracking Green Thai curry with added ginger and spring onions, and home made naan breads. :-D.
Catch you later all ,Fred, wrapped up well in the kilt and double layered socks xxx :-)

Hello Everyone , what changeable weather we are having , one or 2 very warm days with gale force winds the next day and very cold, this old body does not like it .

I was in my native garden Friday arvo giving the poor plants some water after the hot winds when I saw a black snake drinking water out of our ornamental creek poor thing was feeling the heat , it scooted when it noticed me it was fast and I am not sure where it went , so I am being very cautious where I put my hands when weeding.

I start t singing the Hallelujah chorus in a very loud voice when approaching the area.

Hi Junemac ,no I hadn't noticed that about the IPhone
As far as I know we don't have any Brennans or Moloneys in Victoria, but we do have O'Briens.

Hi Badger , I finally got to do some Digging in my veggie garden , I havent planted anything yet I have a large tomato plant in a pot , I am not putting it in the garden until I am sure we wont get a frost, I also have lettuce to go in , but that is all.
This Is short and sweet as I have a lot to do as I wasn't well enough to do much Yesterday.
Hi Joy I hope you are well .
Kindest regards to you all. <3

Morning from Melbourne.. :-)

Wet cold old Melbourne city this morning...18c
Bit weird considering it was 31c on Tuesday followed by 34c on Wednesday, and had the ceiling fans on for the first time since last Summer

Think Melbournians got a bit of a shock to the system with those few days of warmer weather, considering its only our first month of Spring....kinda snuck up on us... :-0

Thinking of our mates on the East coast in the U.S.A with Cyclone Frank. So much devistation and loss of life...some.8 million people affected. Thats nearly half our population here. Had only just been receiving email from a 3rd cousin off my fathers line that settled in New Hampshire, in a town called Saxtons River. Her 4xgreat grandfather and mine were brothers back in Essex England.....so i am hoping she has escaped the worst of it.

With the sudden surprise of warm weather followed by cooler days and heavy rain, my Vege garden has shot up a few inches over the last couple of days...so thats a good thing..lol

Possibly heading off to "Aloha Land"( Honalulu ) in March 2013 by the looks of things. Eldest daughter and grandaughter have decided to join us on our trip :-)
However much we love Thailand ( Phuket ) it will be nice to visit the Hawiian Island for a change of scenery....although..... we are still planning for our once a year Family holiday( 14 of us ) in August 2013, but will holiday on the island of Koh Samui.

Not much happening since my last post on the thread. Still working my butt off so i can enjoy all these holidays we are planning, but then we are both in our mid 60s and done the hard yards....sooooo its time to go see the world seeing that its my planet as much as anyone else's..... ;-) Might be born in Australia.....but the world is my Oyster...plus it will give me something to chat about when my kids lock me away in an old age pensioner home... :-P Just hope i dont have Alzeimers, as i wont remember the holidays anyway :-D

Have uploaded a video of our trip in Phuket on U-Tube for my kids and grandies as a momento of our holiday. Dont know if it will share this link on here?? but i will add it, as this is the Resort we stay at just out of Patong, Phuket. Most peeps some of my kids there hubbys and my grandkids
ps. The good looking couple posing in the Foyer is yours truly and the OH...;-)

Best wishes to all........8 weeks to Jingle Bells.

Av a good un

Morning all, nice to see some activity on here .We had very warm day in Vic yesterday Tuesday ,warm again this morning ,but they forecast a change this afternoon .

Marie have you noted how iphones tend to decide how to spell for you and change what you mean ?

Marie I've just noted you have Moloneys and Brennans ,any from Vic ?

It is very sad losing another soldier ,hate to think what the future holds for the next generations ..

"Aloha " to you all, well Tony is back sounds like you had a great time and how lucky to win a trip to Hawaii how nice, you had better save your dollars as I dont think it will be as cheap as Thailand.
Hi Joy I hope all is well in your neck of the woods ;-)
Hi Badger, no I haven't started my veggies yet it is only starting to get warm here now and we are almost in November. I hope to find time this coming weekend to prepare the veggie gardens.
I have been a little off color the past few days, a rather sore throat so I have been taking it easy.
We have had another soldier killed in the past week, I feel for the Families so sad.
I think it will be all for nothing ,I am sure the Taliban will take over the country as soon as all the troops move out.
Hi Junemac, , I am slowly learning to use my large fingers on the Iphone it takes me some time to text but I will eventually get it.

By the way TONY , The Swans won the grand final Yeh! Yah Yippee
:-) :-D :-D :-D :-D :-)

TonyOz Report 31 Aug 2012 02:10

Morning/Evening.... :-)

Special thoughts for our Aussie families, who have lost loved ones, and not just Australia, but for all who have lost family in our fight for peace.

Yes, we are back from our holiday, and can't complain about our 16 days/nights of sunshine. Thailand ( Phuket ) turned on 33 -35c each day, and the nights were warmer than the days ( humidity ) so there was no way of a good nights sleep without running the Air-con on low. Its sad to hear that Phuket gets a bad reputation from the media/tele of being a sometimes dangerous place to go ( corruption - rapes - drugs - murders, ect,ect .....)when we ourselves have the very same thing going on in our own countries at times.!! Like ever other country in the world there are certain area's you dont go to, or stay away from at certains hrs, and the night life in Patong city Phuket, is much the same as walking through Kings Cross in Sydney, and i'm preety sure this would be the same in certain area's of the U.K big citys or the USA.

We stay in a 4-5 star resort approx 5km out of Patong, and only visit it during the day light hrs. The girls do there market shopping, and the boys have a few sherbets around the many market cabana bars, and watch the football. One cant stay in town too long anyway, because the heat/humidity makes you tired and lethargic.
The area we stay in is very similar to the "Whitsunday Islands" like the great barrier reef resorts in Queensland, and sometimes better....;-)

Barb only bought 7 handbags and 14 pairs of shoes this year, so my suitcase of 8kg when we left for Thailand.......... only weighed 29kgs coming home.....lol :-D

There were only two messages on the answeing service on our phone when we arrived home. One was about insurance, and the other ( beleive it or not ) was to inform Barb that she had entered a "Maccona" coffee competion, and was one of the 20 lucky winners, out of 35 thousand entries.....that had won a trip for two, to Hawaii Island ( Honalulu ) staying at the Sheraton resort on Wakiki beach.....:-0 :-D

So it looks like i haffta find meself a grass skirt before June next year..... ;-)
It's a dirty job...but someone has to do it...lolol

1st day of Spring to-morrow ( 1st Sept )........so will start to turn over the Vege garden in preparation for up coming summer vegie's.

June: I think Mick Malthouse will do a fine job with Carlton Footy club, as he did with West Coast and Collingwood. He is a no nonsense Coach with a ton of experiance, and will weed out the players that dont put in 100%. The trouble is, his family are not happy about him returning to coaching ( To much Pressure ) considering he only retired last year........but if Carlton Footy club want to play finals footy, then he is the man that will get them there.

Wishing all a great day/night.....a'v a good un.

Tony.. :-)
ps. Have to go practice my "Hang loose" and "Aloha's"...... ;-)

Hi badger yes it's very sad about the five diggers and the wounded ones as well .

I'm not sure if Tony and his family are back from their holiday ,I just guessed ,because it seems a while since he said he was going .So they may still be away .

Best wishes to all from a very wet miserable Melbourne .Rain has to cease soon I hope .

badger Report 30 Aug 2012 08:09

Not a good morning for you Aussies ,i have seen the news re the 5 fallen diggers in Afghanistan ,and feel for the families concerned, and i am glad my grandson is home and safe after his second tour over there, now safe for a good while ,as he has got a 3 year tour in Germany after 4 years in the middle east.
Home again Tony ,lol, seems you no longer get away on holiday mate ,before you find yourself back home ,he he,so i hope you enjoyed your sun ,the lovely meals ,and now feel relaxed and rarin' to go :-).
Hi Zack gettin' your garden ready for the new season are you ?,hope you do a lot better than me this year ,we have not had a summer ,going from early spring ,and apart from enough good days [i can count on the fingers of two hands up here in the north east] we have gone straight into early November ,no kidding or as you lot say Fair Dinkum?
We are at 12 c here this morning with a high of 15 c expected ,going down to 7c tonight and possibly a grass frost on Saturday ,lol where has our summer gone ,whinge ,he he :-( .
Never mind A ,despite it i have done pretty well ,the garden performing okay despite the weather ,my onions in the greenhouse to dry off and the brassica did well ,though i am expecting to lose my beans before the next week starts with the cold.but they did okay . :-).
My seeds for next year have arrived but you Aussies have done the dirty on old Fred ,no Canberra ,or candid charm Cauli seeds to be had ,grrrrr i bet you are keeping them all to yourself he he ,i will have to look in the market gardens to see what they have.
Looks like my fig tree will get a baptism of fire as regards frosts ,we are going to get a looooong ,hard winter this year, and i have already upped the payments for gas ,and electric ,so that we can keep warm. :-P.
Yep ,we did do pretty well in the Games ,but i expect it will be a different story when the Rugby and cricket kicks off ,we will either get stuffed by you lot or the south Africans ,or by the New Zealand all blacks in the five nations, some things never change :-) .
Hope you are all enjoying your spring over there ,tempered by some gentle rain to fill your water holes up . :-D.
Catch you later guys and lassies,Fred,& Liz .xxx
