"Aloha " to you all, well Tony is back sounds like you had a great time and how lucky to win a trip to Hawaii how nice, you had better save your dollars as I dont think it will be as cheap as Thailand.
Hi Joy I hope all is well in your neck of the woods ;-)
Hi Badger, no I haven't started my veggies yet it is only starting to get warm here now and we are almost in November. I hope to find time this coming weekend to prepare the veggie gardens.
I have been a little off color the past few days, a rather sore throat so I have been taking it easy.
We have had another soldier killed in the past week, I feel for the Families so sad.
I think it will be all for nothing ,I am sure the Taliban will take over the country as soon as all the troops move out.
Hi Junemac, , I am slowly learning to use my large fingers on the Iphone it takes me some time to text but I will eventually get it.

By the way TONY , The Swans won the grand final Yeh! Yah Yippee
:-) :-D :-D :-D :-D :-)

Morning/Evening.... :-)

Special thoughts for our Aussie families, who have lost loved ones, and not just Australia, but for all who have lost family in our fight for peace.

Yes, we are back from our holiday, and can't complain about our 16 days/nights of sunshine. Thailand ( Phuket ) turned on 33 -35c each day, and the nights were warmer than the days ( humidity ) so there was no way of a good nights sleep without running the Air-con on low. Its sad to hear that Phuket gets a bad reputation from the media/tele of being a sometimes dangerous place to go ( corruption - rapes - drugs - murders, ect,ect .....)when we ourselves have the very same thing going on in our own countries at times.!! Like ever other country in the world there are certain area's you dont go to, or stay away from at certains hrs, and the night life in Patong city Phuket, is much the same as walking through Kings Cross in Sydney, and i'm preety sure this would be the same in certain area's of the U.K big citys or the USA.

We stay in a 4-5 star resort approx 5km out of Patong, and only visit it during the day light hrs. The girls do there market shopping, and the boys have a few sherbets around the many market cabana bars, and watch the football. One cant stay in town too long anyway, because the heat/humidity makes you tired and lethargic.
The area we stay in is very similar to the "Whitsunday Islands" like the great barrier reef resorts in Queensland, and sometimes better....;-)

Barb only bought 7 handbags and 14 pairs of shoes this year, so my suitcase of 8kg when we left for Thailand.......... only weighed 29kgs coming home.....lol :-D

There were only two messages on the answeing service on our phone when we arrived home. One was about insurance, and the other ( beleive it or not ) was to inform Barb that she had entered a "Maccona" coffee competion, and was one of the 20 lucky winners, out of 35 thousand entries.....that had won a trip for two, to Hawaii Island ( Honalulu ) staying at the Sheraton resort on Wakiki beach.....:-0 :-D

So it looks like i haffta find meself a grass skirt before June next year..... ;-)
It's a dirty job...but someone has to do it...lolol

1st day of Spring to-morrow ( 1st Sept )........so will start to turn over the Vege garden in preparation for up coming summer vegie's.

June: I think Mick Malthouse will do a fine job with Carlton Footy club, as he did with West Coast and Collingwood. He is a no nonsense Coach with a ton of experiance, and will weed out the players that dont put in 100%. The trouble is, his family are not happy about him returning to coaching ( To much Pressure ) considering he only retired last year........but if Carlton Footy club want to play finals footy, then he is the man that will get them there.

Wishing all a great day/night.....a'v a good un.

Tony.. :-)
ps. Have to go practice my "Hang loose" and "Aloha's"...... ;-)

Hi badger yes it's very sad about the five diggers and the wounded ones as well .

I'm not sure if Tony and his family are back from their holiday ,I just guessed ,because it seems a while since he said he was going .So they may still be away .

Best wishes to all from a very wet miserable Melbourne .Rain has to cease soon I hope .

badger Report 30 Aug 2012 08:09

Not a good morning for you Aussies ,i have seen the news re the 5 fallen diggers in Afghanistan ,and feel for the families concerned, and i am glad my grandson is home and safe after his second tour over there, now safe for a good while ,as he has got a 3 year tour in Germany after 4 years in the middle east.
Home again Tony ,lol, seems you no longer get away on holiday mate ,before you find yourself back home ,he he,so i hope you enjoyed your sun ,the lovely meals ,and now feel relaxed and rarin' to go :-).
Hi Zack gettin' your garden ready for the new season are you ?,hope you do a lot better than me this year ,we have not had a summer ,going from early spring ,and apart from enough good days [i can count on the fingers of two hands up here in the north east] we have gone straight into early November ,no kidding or as you lot say Fair Dinkum?
We are at 12 c here this morning with a high of 15 c expected ,going down to 7c tonight and possibly a grass frost on Saturday ,lol where has our summer gone ,whinge ,he he :-( .
Never mind A ,despite it i have done pretty well ,the garden performing okay despite the weather ,my onions in the greenhouse to dry off and the brassica did well ,though i am expecting to lose my beans before the next week starts with the cold.but they did okay . :-).
My seeds for next year have arrived but you Aussies have done the dirty on old Fred ,no Canberra ,or candid charm Cauli seeds to be had ,grrrrr i bet you are keeping them all to yourself he he ,i will have to look in the market gardens to see what they have.
Looks like my fig tree will get a baptism of fire as regards frosts ,we are going to get a looooong ,hard winter this year, and i have already upped the payments for gas ,and electric ,so that we can keep warm. :-P.
Yep ,we did do pretty well in the Games ,but i expect it will be a different story when the Rugby and cricket kicks off ,we will either get stuffed by you lot or the south Africans ,or by the New Zealand all blacks in the five nations, some things never change :-) .
Hope you are all enjoying your spring over there ,tempered by some gentle rain to fill your water holes up . :-D.
Catch you later guys and lassies,Fred,& Liz .xxx

Hello to you all,It has been awhile since the last post.I guess you are all glued to the TV watching the OLYMPICS as I have
The Ozzies are not doing so well this time, never mind the Brits needed to get some Gold seeing it is their OLYMPICS, we are getting all the Silver..

Hi Tony, you are probably in Phuket, soaking up the warm sunshine it is very cold here with a very strong breeze Brrre.
Hi Badger my garden is at a stand still as the ground is too cold to do anything with only the Daffodils are moving wont be long and some will flower.Sorry to hear that your better half 's health is deteriorating, that is sad.

I had a week up in Foster with my daughter it rained for days we ended up with 2 sunny day which were lovely :-D
well folks nothing much is happening here.

I will go and make a nice hot cup of tea.
Oops just remembered , Kerry gave me her Iphone and yes it is much easier to use than my old mobile Phone, so I am tickled pink regards to Junemac and all those on the last page .Marie <3

Morning all ,from old Blighty ,northern part of ,cold ,wet and a bit windy ,lol 17 c at 9-45 am ,where has our summer gone i ask myself :-(.
Hi Zack ,i was lucky with the puter ,lol ,i thought the insurance had expired ,so i paid for the repair £30 ,which is well worth it for getting old faithful back in near new condition.
Having discovered that the insurance is still active ,i find that ,as long as my direct debit continues to be taken out ,i am covered for anything ,well worth the £8 a month,if the puter is un repairable ,it is replaced f o c ,and all i pay for is the upgrade ,can't say fairer than that.
Have at last got a few pak Choi ready for the pot ,so ,a stir fry for dinner today ,using mostly shop brought ingredients ,but at least it saves a few pennies.
We are lucky with our power company ,i got in just in time with British Gas on a 4 year contract for both utilities ,and no matter what ,the prices can't be put up until spring 2016.
I still have an emergency generator for power ,and bottled gas ,just in case but so far ,havn't needed them but after this so called summer with no heat warming the sea ,i am looking at a colder winter than last by far ,and have to expect harsh conditions.
You sound as if you are ready for the off Tony ,Liz and i hope your family have a great time ,and enjoy the Malaysian food as much as ever,Green Thia is one of our favourites :-) but once in a while i do myself a Red one ,when Liz fancies something basic ,lol, the Red is too spicy for her palate ;-).
Nothing exotic for us this year with Liz's failing health ,but we are going to Liverpool in a little over a week for 6 days ,so we can go through to A few new seaside towns for a look around.
my garden is upside down today ,as i have had to move all the furniture ready for the roofers coming to do repairs next door, there being no way into their back garden ,they have to use mine ,passing all their gear over my fence ,lol,i don't mind ,but have told them ,any damage ,and you pay the bill ,and i have been round already taking pics where ever they could do so ,with the settings on for time and date stamp ,lol, just in case.
Liz is still in bed ,waking this morning with a terrible head ,and taking the wrong tablets to help shift it ,so she will have to suffer two more hours before she can take the right ones ,silly beggar ,taking tablets for muscle pain will do no ruddy good at all :-(.
Catch you all later ,as i am off to take her a cuppa up ,take care all ,Fred :-D ;-)

Tony fancy being related to Warrick Capper ,seen him the other night on legends match you have to wonder if he just acts vague ,he was a good footballer in his day . My family smiling after Carlton's win Friday ,who would have thought ..Go to show anything is posiible in sports .

Marie that is a very big electricity bill hopefully you may be able to shop around there's supposed to be deals to be had from different providers ..On a happier note you'll love the iphone ,I was hopeless on my old mobiles ,could barely manage them ,but iphone is much more user friendly for the more senior people like me .

Hello all,
Hi Tony ,fancy you being related to Warwick Capper.,what can I say ,well he was a good player for 2 seasons and then his head got so big he got top heavy. No! we wont tell anyone not much.
The Bathurst Bushrangers A F L are doing very well we haven't lost a game this season.
I wish I was off to a warmer climate.

You were very unlucky Badger did it cost very much to have it repaired? I have been lucky so far no bad bugs.I am pleased to hear Hissy is still with you, it is nice to have an animal friend.

June it was electricity only we have bottled gas where we are, and the electricity rates went up on the 1st July by 18%., not 15% as I thought.I will have to find some savings some where.

Hi Ronald , why I asked was because I thought you were holding a musical instrument in your Photo.

We actually had a nice Sunny day to-day after zero this morning however the wind was icy.I stayed inside all day.

June my daughter has an iphone that she is going to give me so that will be great Telstra must want her business as they are giving her a new phone, so she took their offer and I get her fairly new one, I hope I will be able to use it as a I have had mine for about 5 years.

I must go time to cook a meal for myself and my grand daughter she is having a sleep over to-night
Stay well & GO Collingwood YAH and Go the Swans Yeh! ;-)

Ps So sorry Coz I missed yo, I hope your weather is better than what we are having and you are well.
Kindest regards Marie :-D

Hi All

Marie thats a big electricty bill ,maybe it's gas and electric together even if it is it's very expensive .I shudder to think how much the increase will be after July 1st .

We had to get a new computer still getting used to it .Marie make sure you shop around for new mobile phones ,some good deals around .I didnt use mine much ,just in car etc .When mine needed replacing took the plunge got an iphone so much easier to use ,I mainly use it for texting and taking pics of grankids .I get free texts and $500.00 odd calls ,mind you when you get the bill calls quite expensive ,but I use home phone for long calls and never exceed calls on mobile .

Sun is shining in Melbourne at moment nice to see ,not sure for how long .

Cheers June :-)

Hi Zack, back online again after getting my old faithful puter back from the sick computer hospital ,[Curry's],lol fully restored after i downloaded an upgrade on adhobe with an imbedded bug in ,namely one Sweetim.com which infected half the hard drive ,tried to get it out and wiped service pack one ,and the internet connection driver ,lol,i had one sick computer :-( .
No sooner had i got it home and started the restoration of my files ,than the deluge hit Newcastle ,and my street ,which in three minutes looked more like the river Tyne ,than a road..
Half the north east main line is still closed today with signals and points not working the worst rain storm i have seen in thirty years :-| ,We did stop it getting into the house [just] but Les down the street towards the corner ,got flooded out.
Hissy is still here much the boss as ever ,it's hard for me ,lol ,two headstrong women in the same house ,he he.
Think Tony may be in his Den ,sorting out his pennies ready for the holidays ,which can't be far away ,but he may still be sorting out his property after the flood ,i now know how he feels if that's the case :-0.
Know how you feel about the weather ,the end of June and i am still using the heating early in the mornings .so cold here that nothing is growing apart from the stuff in the green house.
Time to go and make some tea ,just some crumpets tonight as neither of us are very hungry ,think it's time to get the Marmite out ,yum.
Catch you later ,take care over there , i notice things are not very clever there either ;-) Fred

Hi Shaz,
Is that you in the picture, nice to see you on here, Bribie Island sound Nice.
It would be nice to make the meet. We will see.
Please keep us informed will you.

Hi Badger , it is nice to hear you are still with us. Is your Hissy still around? you did not mention her. Still being the chef, it is too cold here for gardening when I turn my heater on each morning it say;s it is 8 degrees it doesn't register any lower even if it is -7 deg.

You may have heard our Electricity & gas has risen sharply I received my power bill 2 days ago it has risen from $ 400.00 last year at this time , to $638.00 and from the 1st July it is to rise another 15%.. Not a good out look for us Pensioners.

Hi June, I hope my computer goes for a lot longer as I need a new Mobile phone ,I dropped it the other day and now it wont work. So Sad LOL,

Hi Scoz, I will give your instructions a go ,Many thanks :-)

Hi Ronald, did you play in a band? I was a Singer and a Pianist , music has filled my life with much Joy ,I now am a tutor with the University of the Third age.I have a group of seniors that I teach Singing ,they are doing very well, and I love teaching them.

Has any one heard from Tony????? :-(I dont think he would be able to drag Barbara away from the house while Wimbledon is on ;-) ;-) :-D so I don't think he will be in BALI

Hi All ,long time ,not been on ,lol.
Zack ,the frosts have only been gone from the north of England for 3 weeks ,and after a few sunny days ,i got up this morning ,and had to put the heating back on for the wife :-( 18 c in the house at 7 am].
Got the garden finished apart from a little weeding anyway ,so ,if i could have a little more warmth ,it would please me,wondering if we are going to get a worse summer than the last two years,PAH ,global warming ? more like a mini ice age in the offing :-(.
Hope you are in a dry part of the country and not in a flood plain ,it would be just your luck.
Had a nice stuffed marrow for dinner yesterday ,scooped the middle out ,and filled it with a mixture of brown ,cooked rice ,chopped red onion and a red pepper .salt pepper, and a tin of skipjack Tuna,,wrapped in foil and placed in the big oven with roast tatties ,red onion ,pepper.and sweet potato ,all roasted together, lol, that was the weekend ration used up ,toast for dinner today ,lol :-D.
Still hoping to fire up the B B Q over the next couple of days ,i have some sword fish steak here ,some raw mackeral ,and snags and some sliced steak ,roll on the sun :-D.
Is Tony set for his holiday yet? ,It must be nice and warm in Indonesia by now ,and his wallet should be nice and fat ,for Barbie to do a little raiding ,or has he found a wallet in jungle camoflage he he.
Have a nice holiday weekend all over there ,no matter what the weather is like
:-D :-) Fred.
