Evening from a wet Melbourne this weekend :-(
Still here...... and havent left on Hol's yet. Still a few more sleeps to go until we head far,far north :-D
G'day to Bridget in Spain :-) Bridget, nobodys going to tell you off.........and your quite welcome to post here mate. As is anyone that drops in on the Wattle thread. I personally cant help about living or moving to another Country, as Aussie is my birth place.....but from memory there are a few peeps who drop in that moved to Australia that were born in the U.K.......immigrated, and made their roots here for whatever reason.
OH ( Barb ) is off doing the grocery shopping, and picking up some meat and salads for our BBQ to-morrow. This is our pre holiday get to-gether,and we kick start off our upcoming Hol's with a few snags on the bar-bie, and a few bottles of amber fluid. This allows the fairer sex to have a chin wag about how much money they are going to spend on shopping,ect,ect,ect,ect,ect...( phew )..ect,ect,ect... in Thailand.;-) I record everything on my trusty old tape - recorder......so i have a comeback if they exceed that ammount.....LOL...:-D
Wishing all a great weekend :-)
Tony :-) * with only a few sleeps to go....then its up,up,up and awayyyyyy* ;-)

Please do not tell me off for posting on here??!
Recently I started a thread at the request of several people who have left the UK to live in another country. It started by some people asking why I decided to live in Spain.suddenly others in far further afield started join us. Now I know that thousands of people left the UK on the £10.00 scheme many years ago and I would simply like to ask if would join us and post on Now called Those Who Left the UK to Live Abroad.
Australia is such a vast country and we feel sure that we could learn a lot.
Thank you for reading this

Morning Marie,a lot of the trouble on the internet at the minute are the result of very strong solar flares that have been hitting the globe for a few days, knocking out some communication satellites and even some power grids in America. Having problems with both Yahoo ,and I e this morning myself but they reckon it will pass off in a few days,in the meantime some northern places will be having some spectacular Northern Lights after sunset. Just to make you hungry ,lol,Fred is going to be making Bread Pudding for the extended family this afternoon ,once i make sure i have all the ingredients, this is a southern pudding which became very popular in the second world war using up the stale bread and other goodies [waste was frowned on in those days]. When cooked ,and cooled it is cut into slices and served cold ,yummy. My plums are only just starting to turn red ,and they will be ready in a week or so,and ditto with my apples ,which are doing well, but i won't get any Nectarines until next year, but even this new tree is covered in leaves and looks promising. Elsewhere out back ,we are eating ,the veggies ,from Courgette ,cabbage ,calabreese, through to three sorts of beans outside ,then in the greenhouse the tomatoes are ready ,cucumbers, and the peppers, yeeeees :-D all is right in my garden. Hope you get a decent summer Tony,we havn't had one ,and the leaves on the trees are already turning brown :-S,six weeks early :-0 dosn't bode good for us ,again ,lol. Hope your hoard of coins under the floor are building up ,he he ,time is getting short Mate ,and you will be needing all of them ,wither that ,or you will have to hide the wife's plastic :-( We have had to cancel our holiday to Cornwall because Liz can no longer travel that distance so it's back to holidays around Blackpool :-) which ain't so bad i suppose. Hope you all are having a nice weekend ,take care,Fred :-)

Hi to all the Wattler's, it has been awhile since I logged in . I am still on the Family tree I am on the final draft .YES YAHOO I gave myself the day off to prune my plum tree it is done and dusted, I only have to get rid of the rubbish.
I am still having trouble trying to log on to Genes and when I do it still is not working properly.Yesterday I tried to add to my tree and each time I pressed the save details I got the response that Genes were having trouble, then it would drop out once more, in the end it said a"Fatal error had been made and to contact support" which I did last night ,I got a response this morning telling me the tree was fine and if it happened again to let them know ;-)Tony you must be off on your annual holiday to Phuket. Do have a nice time don't put on too much Weight
Hi to all the new names I see on the posts :-) What are you cooking up Badger? No don't tell me I feel hungry enough as it is.

Happiness to you all <3 <3 <3Love Marie :-D

Hi Barbra. No, not on holidays yet, but not long to go now.... :-D Suitcases are packed and sitting paitently on the lounge room floor...lol
Marie. Yes, very pleased with my footy club ( Collingwood ) and they are doing quite well with only one loss for the year against Geelong( so far )
Last day of July as we move into August, and then Spring ( September ) will be here, and before long i will be getting the Veg patch ready for summer :-) Our 4 Camelia trees are in full bloom, and look a great sight form our lounge room window showing off there various colors.
The dear old mothers birthday coming up on the 3rd Aug, and she will be 92 and still going strong, god bless her<3 Probably outlive me at this rate....hee hee O'h well, there goes me inheritance :-S.....LOL

Hi All , Sorry I have been absent , I am soooo busy with this tree and I just think I have started to get somewhere when more information arrives from lost cousins ,and the thing is they had so many children.I am still getting calls for more invitations, as I told my cousin they will out number us at the reunion, not to worry it is wonderful to know that they wish to come.
Tony you must be fairly pleased with Collingwood, our Swans could do with some new blood. Hi Mary I am sorry to hear that your oh is feeling poorly It is bitterley cold here and like Sydney we havent seen the Sunshine for weeks. Hi to all the new people and to Yvette also Badger who is always cooking up a storm, you make me feel hungry, and it is time I went and had some dinner . Love & hugs to you all Marie from OZ

Hi all, so sorry for not answering sooner Yvette, I live in Aberdeen and also have a static caravan at Banchory, Aberdeenshire, great base for visiting Royal Deeside etc.
Tony tried that site again with no luck, so think I will try variants of the name.
Take care all.

Evening.... from a very cold Melbourne :-(
I'm also a Time team fan, and watch it every night on the History channel. :-)
Well, the suitcases are out and started to pack a few things in ready for our trip northwards in a few weeks, and will be heading away from a 14c Melbourne to a 34c Phuket.... :-) Barb has pre-booked her luxury full massage, deep cleansing, facial scrub, and exfoliation thingo,ect,ect..... with all the pampering nessecary that our fairer sex need to make e'm feel bewdiful..... :-D One and a half hrs of pampering for BHT1,700...( $54 au or 26 GPB ) Daughters have also booked this deal.
I will however give this a miss, and just do my morning jog in the warm aqua blue salt water, of the Andaman Sea ( Free of charge ).... ;-)
Fred. You hit the nail on the head.....Quote:" like ,mister ,one case ,wife three ,sound about right ?" I have already been told by the boss that my suitcase is to small......:-S I can see it will be full of handbags and shoes on our return trip back to Oz.....hee hee
Its 7pm and 9c at the moment and i can hear the local lads football team up at the Council footy oval doing there thursday night training in readiness for the local weekend footy. They can have that to themselves, running around in short sleeved singlets and shorts. I'm well past those days..BBbbbbrrrrr and sitting here comfortable with the ducted heating on 23c....lol Even the cat Bourbon is curled up on his rug Zzzzzzz and purring away.
Barbra. My Barnes ( Greats ) married in Lancashire 1830s St. Mary's "Walton on the Hill" and 7 daughters born/bapt in Liverpool ( St. Peters )before they immigrated to Aussie and settled in Melbourne. Not long after they arrived a 7th child was born ( a boy )....so it looks like they had to travel circ 17 thousand kms to the other side of the world, to finally get their son.....;-) Trouble is he never married, and died a batchelor....but after living a life with 7 sisters in the house....i would probably do the same....hee hee The girls however....went on and produced 55 children between them....one daughter( Sarah BARNES) having 19 children ( two died ).........so the BARNES gene was very strong in Oz ;-) My Grand Uncle Edward Hull also moved from Essex to Lanc's and married in West Derby in 1907.
Hoping all are well, enjoy your Night/Day
Av a good un.
Tony :-)

Hi All from a Hot ?[don't think so Mary] Newcastle ,where we are STILL getting an overnight frost ,and it is down to 19c again at 9am. Sorry to hear that hubby isn't too good Mary, chin up ,Liz and i are still hoping for a miracle for you both . Yvette ,Tintagel and Bodmin Moor ,they are great arn't they ? i am so glad that we spent two weeks down there last year because Liz can no longer sit in a car to go that distance ,so we will have to live on memories of that lovely area ,and i am so glad we took many pictures ,a couple of us two sat under the remains of the castle,in the little bay near Merlins cave.which a bystander [Swedish] took for us. I took many pics of the old tin ,and lead mines where the cornish pasty came into being ,used to feed the miners on their shifts underground, tasty they are too .lol.me having quite a few in that magical two weeks. The weather got so bad yesterday that we never got out for the anniversary dinner i promised ,so we will go next week instead,so ,instead i made the wife one of her fav' dishes ,a lovely cauli' cheese with minature roast new tatties, while i plumped for Macaroni cheese using the same sauce, which is one of my own recipes. No doubt our Tones ,is contemplating how many cases the wife needs for this holiday ,lol,i always find the distribution a tad leaned towards the female ,lol, like ,mister ,one case ,wife three ,sound about right ? well ,i need to think of starting dinner prep' a lot easier now .as some of the veggies are now in season and there is a lovely head of calabrese out in the patch with my name on it,plus one nice fat Courgette which will slice nicely for frying in a spiced flour and olive oil ,now the only problem is what to do to go with them :-). Have a good weekend all ,Fred.xxx :-D.

hi ya, exactly right Tones, no sick pay, no holiday pay and a shoddy tax return ....but I enjoy all my spare time.
Its raining tonight which means I dont have to water my peas and seedlings in the morning. fogggg yeek , we get a sea mist in the summer sometimes, no frost either. while I havent been working evenings, I've been watching time team. I would love to dig up an old field.
My cousins took me walking over the Bodmin Moors , that amazed me. Same day they took me to Tintagel and that was just superb.
going searching xxxxxxxxxxx
