Hello to you all
I have finally found some time to have a look at the posts.
Guess what _____I have finished the massive Tree for the Family reunion on the 1st of & 2nd of October.

.Yes! yes! says she as she leaps around, only in my mind, too old to leap any more I have also finished the name tag's, no doubt there will be the need to do more on the day but that will be easy.
Sixty two people have said they are coming more than I expected.

Tony sounds like you all had a great time good for you and your family.

Hi June ,I am researching, Young from Odcombe & O'Brien from Castle Haven Co.Cork.

We are having some nice spring weather , the night's are still very cold and I think we will probrbly get a frost in the morning as we had a nice fall of rain last night, my seedlings are standing like little soldier's to-day.

Arvo...:>))

Thanks for the fathers day wishes :-)
Daughters and grandies came over stocked with cakes and pavlova.
Threw a few party pies and sausage rolls in the oven and boiled up a saucepan full of little boys, and a great day was had by all.

Sitting here 1:30 pm waiting for my footy team ( Collingwood aka Magpies ) to play in the finals series.

June. Convicts and their decendants are a larger part of my tree.
The backbone of this great colony they were, and we owe them big time for the blood, sweat and tears they shed, to get this Country up and running.

My lot so far.

Nathaniel Lucas b1764 Surrey, Eng...transported on First fleet,HMS Supply ( Norfolk Island )
Olivia Gascoigne b.1762 Yorkshire,Eng...transported First Fleet, ( Norfolk Island )
James Roach b.1823 Dublin, Ireland...transported 1837 ( aged 13 ) to Tasmania.....put on Point Puer boys reformatory Island.
Anne McDonagh b.1829 Galway, Ireland....transported 1850 ( aged 21 ) to Tasmania ( Hobarts womens factory )

Arvo.. :-)

June. Your family must be well pleased with Carlton's efforts on the weekend. They virtually took Essendon apart. Next week should give an indication of where they are when they take on the West Coast Eagles in Perth. The Maggies only scraped in beating West Coast on Saturday, and we were lucky to get away with a win... :-0

Hi Annabel. Nice to see you drop in on the thread :-)
Hope you are well.
I noticed you have the surname PAULL & WILLIAMS in your research.
My tree also has PAULL & WILLIAMS( from Cornwall ) and they are part of my Barb's family tree ( greats ).......along with Hockey,Gribble,Crase/Craze,Chenowyth,Rosewall,Shaw...all from Cornwall.........Hockey and Shaw being Cornish miners from Gwenapp, St. Agnes, and St.Ives, also Redruth that were bought our here to Aussie in the mid 1800s by the government to work our mines.

hi Tony and others

Im from albury/wodonga nsw/vic where the
Spring has sprung and the days are warmer, after frosty starts.

My mother's ancestors came to Brisbane in 1850 and 1860.
I never new much about my english "first arrivals" and that is why I wanted to do the research for those lines.
My gran's Gparents were born in england; and gran married a german man in 1901. The family didnt like it; or so I was told.

Today history repeats itself and my father was wend german, and I married a wend german also.

Best wishes. Annette

This is time of year when Melbourne is at it's best ,Melbourne Show ,Footy finals and our famous Melbourne Cup as an ex Tab operator it gets the heart pumping .

Hi Annette....on the Murray.
Nice to see you pop in on the thread

Thought i would put on the Murray, because you listed Albury - Wodonga -NSW - VIC...... :-D

Spent some of my teenage years up at Wodonga in the early 60s, and it brings back fond memories.

Lovely sunny spring day in Melbourne too...:-)

June. Yes,its a great time of the year for Melbourne's sporting carnival, and of course our Caulfield & Melbourne Cup that will bring out the punters and horse racing lovers. We always have a Melbourne cup BBQ with family( as do most Aussies ) and i few bob each way on the gee gee's...lol

Hi Annabel. The West Coast are not without a chance of taking out the AFL Premiership Cup, and they are a formidable apponent. They take on the Carlton Blues later this week on their home ground ( Subiaco ) so a home ground advantage is a bonus.

Best wishes to all.

Tony :-)

hi June.

yes whooping cough is still around and recently many cases have been reported in Nsw, and Vic.
it has been suggested that young parents are being lax in getting their children immunised, and so put the wider commmunity at risk.
I for one didnt realise that I would need a booster every 10 years.
So I got whooping cough 5 years ago, from one of my students.
It was a very bad year for me, Pneumonia followed the whooping cough, and then pleurisy. I was in hospital for couple of weeks. and im not so young.

I always advise others to keep their boosters up to date. as its a very serious illness, and trying to get a breath in the coughing fits is very frightening.

Annette on the Murray;
where today is overcast and cold. After a few nice warm days, I have lit my fire again to keep warm. maybe we will get rain which is badly needed for the crops.

Hi moonbi

Maybe others will get boosters now after hearing about your experience.I didn't think they could avoid getting the little ones done In Vic you can't attend kinder or school without proof of needles ,not sure about creches though .

Hello Everyone,
How nice to see all the post's, I had hoped to be a bit more
regular with my posts' but I seem to have so many emails to answer and follow up re the Hayward Reunion, which is only 11 days away , I am nervous and excited about it.
Our weather in Bathurst has been very nice the last few days I hope it stays that way.

June ,My John O'Brien came from Castle Haven area County Cork , John Moloney, West Meath, and Sarah Jane Young born Yeovil Somersetshire.
I have been so busy with the Hayward's that I havent done anything on my brick walls but hopefully will get back to it after the Family Reunion.

I will be leaving for Mackay on the 27th. Sept. and back on the 19th I wont be able to post till then.
Do keep well everyone, unfortunately the Grand final of the AFL is the weekend of the Reunion so I guess I will have to try and catch one of the replays.Good luck Tony with the Maggies.
Badger where are you has your garden taken over and you are trapped in the Chalet. LOL
Love & Hugs to you all <3 Marie.

Evening :-)

Absolutley glorious spring weather in Melbourne at the moment.

Have attacked the side of the house ( something iv'e put off for 6 years ) as the weatherboards that were painted some 15 years ago need stripping & sanding, and a re-paint.OH ( Barb ) has been at me for years to re-paint them, and i keep putting it off, so last week she rang a painter....$$$$$$$$$$$ :-0......soooooo that was my cue to pull my finger out and make a start....lol
Its that part of the house that no one sees ( sideway ) but its 20 metres in length, and i kept looking at it over the years thinking..O'h boy, this is gunna be a big job.....:-(

Very happy with my footy team ( Collingwood ) as they prepare themselves this coming saturday to play in another Grandfinal after winning last year in 2010..so a back to back Grandfinal if they can dispose of the Geelong ( cats ) team.
A traditional BBQ lunch with the family will be had on my back decking, and it ( decking )will be all dressed up in the Collingwood colors ( Black & White vertical stripes ) Eldest daughter also supports the same team,so will be down to celebrate a predicted win..but its cut throat and hopefully if we play well on the day we can do it. The Geelong team is a formidable apponent who won the 2007 and 2009 Cup. The 52inch Plazma tele will be dragged outside onto the decking, the BBQ lit, The fridge full......and god help anyone who disturbs me while i'm watching the game.....:-P

Marie. Good luck with your Hayward reunion, and hope all goes well.

Best wishes to all.

Tony :-)
ps. Goooooooo MAGPIES ( Collingwood ) :-D ;-)
