my gson and I experienced a very stormy night. lightning and thunder were awesome, but the wind was very strong thats why the power went of for 4 hours from 830pm until half past midnight.
28 mm rain in the guage this morning, tanks over flowing, but no serious damage done in this street. mainly leaves and branches down. ses doing their normal checking and clearing away branches.
Hope others fared well in this wild weather.

Arvo.... :-)
O'k who let the CAT ( ChAoTic ) in.... ;-)
Hi Annette. Yes, we copped it here too in Melbourne. Wettest day for September since the 1980s ( so they tell us ) Daughters were at the Royal Melbourne show and hd to huddle in one of the pavilions with hundreds of others as the sky opened up with Thunder,Lightning, and a downpour. Lucky for them it was towards the end of the days outing, and their kids ( my grandies ) got in all the rides they wanted to do, and collected all their showbags full of goodies, and then made a dash for the railway station. It took them nearly 3hrs by train to get home from Melbourne to Dandenong. Normally a 45 min train trip....but the lines were flooded and the train had to stop and start every few km's. Melbourne airport was also closed until the lightning subsided, no planes arriving or leaving ( chaos ) :-0
OH ( Barb ) turns the big Six Zero ( 60 ) to-morrow friday 30th Sept.....so i have arranged a surprise night out at her favourite Chinese Restaraunt with about 30 freinds to help her celebrate. Couldnt think of a appropiate 60th berfdee pressie for her, appart from a Seniors application form.....LOL But i did manage to tee up a mobile car detailer that will come and give her car ( 2008 Toyota Accent ) a thorough clean up inside and out, plus a cut and polish....for a little over $100 bucks :-D
Saturday 1st Oct is my day...... Collingwood V's Geelong AFL footy Grandfinal....then all over till March 2012. Cricket will soon be starting so i wont have too many withdrawl symptoms :-D
Hope all are well.
Tony... :-)

Hi Barbra, I had a sister Barbara , she had a heart attack in her 50th year I do so miss her ,I also have a daughter Barbara who is lovely.
It is becomining very hot here ,I live in Bathurst NSW Australia .We Have very cold winters and usually very hot summers. They are predicting rain to-morrow and it has been very warm to-day.I love gardening and spend a lot of time out door's .to-day I potted up a heap of plants ,they will be going into the garden later when a littler bigger. I also have a large native Garden it is a little over 4 years old and is looking very nice some of the tree's are quite large, we have 2 ponds with native fish.and a little creek which recycles the pond water .I have a vegetable garden and my daughter & I also have a large rose garden.
I also tutor for the U 3 A ( University of the Third Age) I have 7 ladies and 1 male that I am teaching singing. Our last term ends on the 25th Nov. I have enjoyed sharing my knowledge of singing with them, and they have asked me to continue the lessons next year , I said yes., as I have enjoyed their company.
I also enjoy going to the Jym to exercise and have a number of friends who take the same classes.
Kindest regards Marie

Good morning ,I wonder why this has become so quiet .
Thought maybe Tony was in shock after The Magpie loss.,to explain to people from os .The Magpies are the Collingwood AFL football team . And back in September they had a shock loss in their grand final and Tony is one of many ,many loyal fans . So it's okay to come back now Tony and remember there's always next year . Our Melbourne weather is playing it's normal tricks one day it's hot next cold again .But guess most of us should be used to it by now . ;-) ;-)

Good morning moonbi and all.
Melbourne hasnt decided what sort of weather it's going to dish out today as yet ,cool and overcast at the ,moment ,but it could change at any time .
Has everybody started Christmas shopping yet ?I have organised the younger grandchildren so far ,could spend the earth on them .The two teenagers prefer money or gift vouchers ,so that's easy .So we have Chris Krigle for adults and just a few small gifts for friends ,so guess I'm sort of covered .

Arvo :-)
I'm still around...........Sorry,i havent been adding to the thread.:-D
Been to busy leading up to Xmas with work, as leading up to summer the company i contract for are flat out with orders. Also, been mostly chatting with my kids, and neices/nephews on FB....as thats where most peeps seem to hang out nowdays.....lol
Also, a grandad "again" for the 5th time, as daughter number 3 gave me a brand new grandaughter to cuddle last week. So have 3 grandsons and now two grandaughters :-)
June. No, not in shock after losing the grandfinal in Sept. Thought it would be to good to be true to win two years in a row.......lol As we say in Footy....there's always next year.. ;-)
Not visiting GR as much as i used to, and moreso concentrating on Ancestry au. to do my Family tree. I have also joined a Family History sight/forum in Aussie.( similar to GR ) All records/lookups and chat are Australian based, and mainly for peeps looking foror needing help to find Aussie relo's/ancestors. Its not a big site, but around 600 members ( no joining fee ) and is free to join.Of course, anyone can join....but.......if your looking for ancestors outside Australia or New Zealand then the site would be useless to you in general.
Hoping all are well.
Av a good un :-D Tony....:-)

Congratulations Tony the new granddaughter ,you have one more grandchild than me,I have 3 grandsons and one lone granddaughter .
Good luck with Aussie research Tony ,most of mine are Irish and their bit hard to follow as back then they used nick names on BDM's then they would revert back to full names ,still it is great when you find more about them .
I finally have a connection to a convict ,A cousin in Sydney has found one of our great uncles marrying a woman who's parents were both convicts ,even though she's only ours by marriage ,we're thrilled to finally find one ,. It's funny we're all so proud of our convict past ,but our grandparents went out of their way to hide their secrets ,how things change over generations . It's starting out cold on Melbourne today ,hope others have better weather

Hello all
Despite my saying I would try to post on this thread a bit more frequently, I think that this is only my second post :-(
The weather in Perth and the south west has climbed from a mild 23-24 to a high 35 with stong winds
This has caused major prblems in Margaret River where a 'controlled' burncarried out by a State Government Dept became out of control. At least 20 properties have been damaged or destroyed. The fire is still burning and has not yet been brought under control.
Another hot and windy day today for the region!

Evening... :-)
Its that time of the year again!!..... :-D
Busy,busy,busy....working,and flat out like a lizard drinking... :-(
Looking forward to some R&R in the next coming weeks,as most companys i contract for close for the festive season :-)
G'day to Allan, and hope all is well over there in the West...mate.
Been doing a bit of brick work on the weekends around the entrance to our house. OH ( Barb ) has been at me for years to rip up the old wooden steps that lead up to our front door entrance, and replace them with brick and paved steps. Soooooooo i finally made a start, and its coming along just nicely. I surpose i could have paid a tradesman $400 to do it, but being a tradie myself........i can do the same for $200....with a lifetime garauntee ;-)
Hope all are well, and wishing all a great Christmas with your family's, or however you spend it..
Best wishes.
Tony.... :-)
