Hi Too all ,from Newcastle [in the old country] the northern one by the Tyne river, where the soil is at last starting to warm up ,and the yearly planning of my garden is under way :-D. Things are back to normal ,you might say Zack ,the two females running the house and old Fred doing the running around as normal . The furry pest has managed to get me out on the patio once since Christmas ,with a cup of tea for a few minutes and now comes and grumbles at my chair side because it isn't warm enough to go out again ,maybe this coming week ,when the temperature is supposed to be going up to 17/18 c for a couple of days Hmmmmm i might even get my first B B Q in with any luck. I was sorry to hearthat you lost a lot of your crops to adverse weather ,and i have been watching the state of play over there ,some weird weather all over the world ,and even here ,things are a bit touch and go with the planting what with the high winds we keep getting ,but at least ,i still have a greenhouse ,so i did screw that down to stay ,at least so far . :-|. Nice to hear as well that you are doing well on your research ,i do okay here as regards England and Ireland ,but still ho luck in oz ,i do have a few people over there ,back in time ,but once they landed in Sydney ,they went missing ,he he,still ,you can't have everything ,lol :-) . I was pleased to hear that Mary has her hubby home again ,and had visitors for a few days despite the flooding in Sydney ,i did learn though that she is well up off the valley floor ,as we here are ,so the extra water in the north ,here is well away from us too.just as well ,ll,my rowing days are well gone ,as is the camping, our trips are more caravan parks these days ,apart from a trip down to Oxford this next month to get the grandsons house opened up .ready for his return from Afghanistan, where he has been for nearly 6 months. Hope you over there ,are safe ,and healthy ,ready for your cooler weather ,catch you later ,Fred ,Hissy the terrible ,and Liz ,even terribler ,lol :-D

I wondered where your grand son might be I am sure you will be pleased to see him arrive home safely.I have a son who lives in Castlemain in Victoria they had flash flooding Yesterday I havent heard from him so I guess his place is ok they live up fairly high.. We are on the side of a Hill also so we dont get any rising water but we do get a lot of water runnung through our property to lower ground further down. I will be off as I am making Spaghetti Bolognaise for Dinner, for the family. Good health to you, Liz and Hissy <3 ;-) Marie

G'day. :-)
I watched I was Monty's Double yesterday on television and became so interested in Australian-born Meyrick Edward Clifton James that I have ordered the book that he wrote from the library.

Goodevening from the land downunder.... :-D
Sorry, that i havent been posting much lately, but to be honest i just cant be bothered...lol
Have decided to give GR a rest in general until they get the site back up and running as it used to be. In fairness.........I know the site owners/tech's are doing all they can to get it up and running properly, but It takes me longer to log onto this site than any other web site on the net....lol
I click on my GR home page and the little cog wheels turn and turn and turn trying to bring up the site. This can take 2- 3 min.....and then i have to log on everytime with email addy and password ( even though i never log off after i leave the site..!!! ) which can take another 2 or 3 minutes....then it tries to load my tree, which dosent exist on this site anymore....lol Then it takes me to the community boards ( little wheels turn, and turn, and turn...and eventually i get to the Community boards....then click on my threads, and the little cog wheels turn, and turn, and turn again...ect,ect,ect.....so i just give up with frustration....:-( and go visit my Ancestry site... :-D
Hoping all are well.
Take care
Tony :-)

Hi Tony and all ,strange I use this old clapped out computer and rarely have problems opening this site ,but see lots saying they have problems ,nust be just lucky and come on in right time of day ,
One of advantages of being retired have all day to fill in ,And when you dont like housework and are not into crafts I just while away at leisure lol .
Well now we're getting NSW rains down here ,so much for the last of our Summer ,I think we're in for another miserable Winter .
Well Marie O'BRIENS must have been gypies or just have had the wander lust .Mine were from HOSPITAL in LIMERICK Jeremiah came to MELBOURNE IN 1850,s didnt marry until 1882 and was said to be single ,but tend to think he possibly ,could have married before ,may be wrong ,just a feeling . Two of his sisters supposed to have gone To AMERICA ,wonder how their lives went ? I just take my time and keep looking mainly online these days ,I belong to history group but usually too lazy to visit .
Marie dont know about you ,but my spirit of adventure is long gone I dont share my ancestors love of travel ,still guess they , didnt have same choices back then it was leave or starve .That's great to still have the farm in the family .
Best Wishes to all .

Hmmmm, well, after months of being absent from this site, I decided to update my tree, WELL, think I will give it a Huge Big Miss, because, it doesnt work anymore, cannot navitgate around the B.....Y site. :-P
Sir Tones, like you, I hate the new format, I onlt get half a page now, and when trying to add new names, it doest go down the page far enough to show me the update button.
I have post a message, airing my distaste with it.... :-S

Hi Marie, moonbi and others Winter looks like it's here to stay in Melbourne ,very wet and miserable .
Your poor grandson moonbi tonsils are nasty and not a pleasant op ,but kids are wonderful the way they bounce back .
My grandson had gromets in his ears a few years back a day job at a private hospital ,I went with them it was an eyeopener the poor litlle kids were going in one door with their mums till they were asleep then short time later their mums were next to them as they woke ,about half hour later if they were awake they were walking out the door with a balloon I lost count of how many kids were in and out .Then later they did the longer ops .
I gave up adding to my tree ages ago ,I tend to add wrong siblings ,parents etc and make such a mess ,I always say I will delete and start agian ,one day ,that day hasnt arrived as yet .Still cant complain I still mange to find facts ,would know more if all the poeple replied ,but that's not on here ,I think I have had about 95%nswers from members on this site .

G'day :-D
Autumn here......... getting on to winter........ I know that, because the rain is cooler.
We're not ungrateful for the rain, but we've had enough for a while; we'd like to share it with those who need it.......... any takers?
:-D

If anyone is wondering what my pic is.........
The local Council's idea of "Art"
It's known as "The Big Root"
Queensland has the pineapple, other places have wellies, prawns, sheep, koalas etc and in the Northern Rivers, we get a big root.
Stop laughing :-D

Scozz even though I'm born and breed here in Vic and my lot been here some since 1850's .
Most of us Aussies with our weird sense of humour would be proud to have such a an attraction in their town ,I'm sure lots of tourists visit to have pics taken with it .
Pardon my ignorance which state is this attraction ? I guess Queensland . :-D

The Big Root is in Byron Bay (you'll get a bigger look at a pic if you g**gle)
I'm not in Byron Bay, it's a bit feral for me :-D
OK fellow Aussies, who is going to explain to our non-Aussie mates why having a piece of art called "big root" is "funny"?
I think it's hilarious......... can't wait for our next lot of visitors, take them for a scenic tour
:-D
