Dozy me, Bridget, I hadn't realised when you said you were coming here that it was September you posted that remark, it was the day before I returned from Corfu.

I think you have my number now so we will have a chat soon perhaps or you can let me know when you are visiting again. Have put your name on my calender but haven't one for next year just yet so it's at the end of the old one ready to be transferred.

Hope ZZ is doing well

So you are in my neck of the woods, Bridget. I don't suppose you will get as far as Norwich but if you do, let me know and I could come and meet you for half an hour.

Hope little ZZ is fighting back as usual, how lovely to read that Val's son is doing so well, he has certainly been a fighter. I don't know about my friend's daughter as he has moved abroad and we don't hear from him now (he lives in the Philippines I think) but I am sure she will be battling on. I hope ZZ can be treated as new medicines and ideas happen and can do well and amaze everyone.

My apologies for not coming back earlier.
I have had a chat with my sister and ZZ has had her check which was not very encouraging. ZZ is now on stronger medication and has to have injections each day for the next three weeks. Her appetite is not as good as we would like but at least she is eating. She will be seen again in two weeks time, unless she needs to be seen earlier.

Please keep your positive thoughts and prayers alive as we do find great solice knowing that so many people care about her and the family.

Best wishes to you all,

Bridget

Sorry everyone for taking so long to reply. My iPad is the only vomp I have with me and OH has used it quite a lot. Then my subscription was late and for some reason my bank card was not being accepted, until OH used it yesterday for my renewal and so I am back.
I will be speaking to my sister in the next few days so will add another update after that chat.

Take care

Bridget

Have just seen this thread, Bridget. I often think of little ZZ. I hope that she continues to be the happy, determined and inspiring little girl that she has always been and that her health will soon match her tremendous spirit.

Val M, your words of encouragement are a blessing to all families affected by CF
Well done to your son for batteling so well against this terrible disease.
To to all the family for being by his side through thick and thin.

Val, thank you for posting. I havevwondered if GR would be able to reinstate the old thread,
I had no idea that your son has battledcagainst and won his way through this sad condition. You give me so much hope.

Sylvia

Thank you for your kind words. My mother used to tell me that he above only gives us challenges that we can cope with! I hope she was right.
We are now in the UK , and will soon be heading off to Norfolk to stay with our friends. Then on Monday I hope to see my granddaughter.

I will be posting on my Daily Diary

I know I added to your other thread, it is a shame it has gone. We had some very scary moments with my son (who also has Cystic Fibrosis) when he was younger, but he has battled through them all, so far, and with the great help of the medical team at Great Ormond St, The London Chest Hospital and now Papworth hospital. He is now 44 years old, in full time work (which we were told many years ago, would never happen). One day, hopefully, there will be a cure for this disease. Keep positive, as we have done for all these years.

A little nudge as several people have asked about ZZ. So having learnt that it was deleted I thought I would start again

SpanishEyes Report 22 Sep 2011 08:33

Good morning

For just about two years I have had a fantastic thread about my Great niece ZZ. Who has cystic Fibrosis and she has battled her way through life.
So many people have supported me and my family at very difficult times, and have given so much advice and kind thoughts.
I forgot to add that ZZ had her 2nd birthday recently but could not do so as the thread has disappeared.

I have no idea why this is.

So just to say to anyone who helped before I hope that you see this new thread and come back to us.

ZZ was seen by her consultant recently and whilst they are delighted with her fighting spirit her condition has worsened. However after some tears we are still being positive, still hoping for a breakthrough in the research etc.

I am going back to the UK tomorrow, and will not on this occasion be in her part of the country but I will add any updates.

Have a good day everyone and I hope that you all see this new thread.

Bridget :-D
