Hi Jane, I think she must have been at the table behind you having a close encounter with the young man Carol mentioned most of the time. Nice lady, but as I said, a bit strange. At one stage she got some crocheting out of her bag and was working away on some very strangely shaped piece - couldn't quite make out what it was exactly ;-)

Shirley - sorry to hear about your hubby. Hope the medics establish what the problem is very soon. Must be such a worry for you.

Shirley~I,m getting the hang of it Report 6 Apr 2012 18:49

sorry Carol, missed your post of the 1st.

Hubby had his MRI scan on the 2nd OK but had a funny turn when sitting up to get off the Scanner. The young lady radiographer was a very slight build and she said lie down cos if you fall I cant catch you. They had to get two burly male nurses to get him down and put him in a wheelchair. I only knew when the lass came out and I mentioned to her make sure he has his balance when he gets up!! she said yes we have him in a wheel chair.

We had to sit for about half hour till he felt he could stand and then get dressed and make his way back to the car park .

Hope we can get to the bottom of these turns cos they are worrying . he is still having blood and urine tests even to this week .

Did happen to to notice the strange lady, but being new thought you all knew who she was! What caught my eye most was one of our party having a close encounter with a young man on the next table lol

Evenin' all :-D

Well, 24 hours later and I'm still in the land of the living. Met a delightful young man on the tube home, etc. etc. . . . . . ;-)

Great meet and lovely friendly people, as always :-D

Glad Maddie made it eventually, jingling her bells. Foggy, our dear token man, looked amazing dancing around with that hatstand didn't he? Carol wiv numbers - so pleased you made it with wotshisname - Fred, is it ? (very nice lad). Granny Mo (can't have a meet without her). Mrs. Grumpy, great to see you, looking stunning. Jane (what a larf she is) - pleased to meet your lovely daughter too. Rach - brill that you managed it, not feeling the full ticket - hope you feel much better soon babe. Shirley, you really got the hang of it this time and were there when the starting gun went off (very sorry about your knees - hope they're clicking away merrily again now). Yvonne, lovely to see you again - how you managed to party on in the evening 'til 1 am is beyond me (oh, to be young again!) Mo In Kent - great gal, (Annie Lennox lookalike) - enjoyed our chats outside ;-)

I think that's everybody, isn't it? Oh no, there was a strange lady there who I didn't know *whispers, I didn't like to say anything, but I think she may have gatecrashed our little party. Nice enough woman, pleasant to chat to and all that, but I didn't have a clue who she could be as she was wearing a mask. Did anyone else notice her?

I think that's everybody. Oh, last but not least - it was very nice to meet the 2 charming young ladies from GR - Katie and Natasha. They were kind enough to buy us all a drink and have their ears fairly gently bent for an hour or so. Thankyou both :-D

Re the raffle - didn't we do well!! Together with what was left over from the soft drinks and tea kitty, the Prostate Cancer Charity is going to be receiving a cheque for £120 in the next couple of days. Well done for all your efforts on their behalf and a receipt will be forthcoming when I receive it.

Wend xxx

PS I took a few photos of the 'strange lady' I mentioned and will be posting them very soon, just to see if anyone can identify her ;-)

Apologies Fred, you're a man too, aren't you :-D

Carol

See you can do it lol.
I know the feeling though when you dont do things then lose the confidence to retry. I was like this with driving cos OH drove every time we went out. I did say to him some time ago I NEED to drive cos the longer I leave it the more my confidence goes that I can drive

We need now for me to drive as he is having problems.

Now you have been to a meet then hope you will come again. Your hubby is always welcome too if you need some support in travelling

Shirley xx :-D :-D

Don't know how you managed a party Yvonne, just about had energy to rustle up a sandwich, but pleased to say full of beans to day.

Now I seem to have overcome my fear of trains OH and I have been planning another trip to London, especially with the use of our Freedom passes which we used for first time ;-)

Thanks again Wend for all your help and encouragement <3
