Hello Sylvia, I wondered how they kept their balance up on them there hills. What good news for you re op.

Plenty of lamb shanks being sold here perhaps thats because of all those legs cut off. I shall have to check with my boys (they are both butchers) if they are getting sheep coming in legless ;-) LOL

Allan Report 5 Nov 2011 22:41

lol LaGoona, they don't moonlight in Aus do they?

Sylvia, that is excellent news. A massive relief for you, I'm sure.

Things are ok here, but have been slightly under par for the last couple of weeks. Hopefully, it's just one of those pre-summer bugs that do the rounds from time to time

Thank you both.

I'll know for certain about the radiation on Monday morning .... but the surgeon doesn't think I need any further treatment ...... and I certainly won't see her again, as that was number 2 that she removed (previous one was in 1995) :-D

we usually get NZ lamb here, Aus lamb is pretty hard to find

I wonder why??

LG ...... that's why hillsides so often have animal paths that go round and round, rather than straight up and down:-D

we're heading into Fall here ..... the nights are getting cold!

and we're getting those pre-winter colds!

It might be a bit of a way for them to travel unless they have been taking my supercharged broomstick and using it to fly over :-D. I hope you feel better soon. I have just got over a virus that hung on for weeks. It has left me feeling very tired and drained.

Barbra, Yes you are correct. He had a string of hits out here and made his fortune with his own TV show in Aus and the UK. Apart from Tie Me Kangaroo Down, he also sang, Jake the Peg, Two Little Boys, The Court of King Caractacus, and Carabarrawirracana.

I used to marvel at the paintings he would do during his TV show. Started out with a splotch of paint, then added to it, kept adding, and then took a different colour paint and in a few minutes had a complete landscape painted. If I recollect correctly he also painted a portrait of the Queen.

I am the night shift. I have just noticed I am posting at two thirty in the morning. It is mid morning here in Australia. I am about to leave typing and go sort photographs.

My husband's sister is a baby boomer, just about to turn 65. She grew up watching Rolf Harris on an afternoon children's show in the UK in the very early 1950's.

We have friends who own one of his early paintings ............. it was bought in OZ in the very early 60s

I covet it!

Good Sunday evening from NZ,

Hello to all !!

Sylvia, great news for you, onwards and upwards :-)

Don't tell Allan I said so, but NZ Lamb is much nicer than Oz lamb - ;-). Shame it is getting so expensive to buy. $30NZ or so for a decent sized leg...
We have been getting alot of Oz beef in our Supermarkets, much cheaper than our own. Makes me seethe...

MTG, Ketco doesn't sound like a very kiwi name to me, wonder what his family origins were?

Have a great day one and all.
