Anyone else just read Pete's latest offering? I love it, I'm still chuckling.

Nothing that appeals to me there Jan but you have a go, I am still looking at the last lot without much success. I like the ones whereyou have to use a list of words, haven't found that site recently. i.e. they give you about 8 or 10 words that all have to be brought into the story. We did a lot of those in the beginning. I'll have a think. thanks for those anyway.

Visited a suggestion site and the ideas were quite good...they suggested

A letter to your future self

A story or poem about yourself,..............were nothing is true

First Kiss

A Colour how does it make you feel, what do you associate with the colour

Not bad ideas could suit both poets and writers

What do you think ?

Well I have fought with the latest (actually not the latest, the previous) set offering and have managed an ending of sorts so I shall send it out. Not that happy with it but it is better than nothing. :-D

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 2 Mar 2012 15:29

Ah, thought I had seen a couple of them, yes I google those sites, there are some good themes if only I could get my head round them.

Rambling

Rambling Report 2 Mar 2012 15:23

:-D Ann , I have a couple of sites, found through google, that put up exercises, just working through some of the old ones and popping them on here when I find any I think might suit.

Where's all this lot coming from Rose???? I am still stuck halfway through one of the last lot! :-D :-D :-D

A few ideas :-D

You (or a character you are writing about) open a drawer. It is not your drawer, but someone else's, perhaps a stranger's, perhaps your dead grandmother’s, perhaps your lover’s. Inside you find...

It's spring. Your character is walking out of doors and sees the burgeoning trees and flowers, hears the birdsong. But the character's reaction to all this newness and freshness is not what you would expect...

"I looked out over my city. I had been watching this city for a long time. I decided it was time. It was time to..."

Write a poem based on a dream you had. Try to reproduce the sensations of the dream.

Write a poem using all of the following words: exquisite, visit, glisten.

:-D

AnninGlos Report 27 Feb 2012 16:35

My writing at the moment is like getting blood out of a stone, words are dragged out of my brain in slow motion. Now I have started a story and have no idea where it is going.

AnninGlos Report 24 Feb 2012 16:33

OK First writing for a couple of weeks. I have sent out the 200 word favourite place one. :-D

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 19 Feb 2012 19:47

Thanks Rose, hope you have more success than I had with the last lot. Lol! Shall have to tink about this when I get home tomorrow.

a couple of ideas

"Imagine that you are lying in a hammock, gazing up the trunk of tree that holds the hammock. You are profoundly relaxed; summer is almost over. Your mind drifts with the slow rocking of the hammock. Your spirit soars toward the top of the great white pine. Suddenly...."

"Write a 200-word description of a place. You can use any and all sensory descriptions but sight: you can describe what it feels like, sounds like, smells like and even tastes like. Try to write the description in such a way that people will not miss the visual details. "

"Favourite things" (poem ? )

'A country churchyard'

Thankfully, touching wood now, OH and I have kept cold and cough free, but feel for you, if you have succumbed. Can we get together and suggest some scenarios ? Maybe one of us across the group could suggest the people, one where etc etc, Go on Ann give us a clue !!
