Rambling Rose

Rambling Rose Report 16 Feb 2012 22:35

Mau, yes I did, my apologies to you and to everyone I've not replied to :-(

But I really enjoyed everyone's writing on their school days :-)

Wend Report 16 Feb 2012 23:07

Rose, excuses, excuses ;-)

Re the Pampas Grass, I hasten to add!

AnninGlos Report 17 Feb 2012 09:04

Sorry Mau, I thought I had replied.... I have now. :-)

Mauatthecoast Report 17 Feb 2012 10:40

GoldenGirl1 Report 17 Feb 2012 10:58

Hi everyone and hello Peter.
Dermot thank you for your recent offering which I enjoyed.
Will be sending mine in shortly.

Emma x

ButtercupFields Report 19 Feb 2012 13:35

My apologies once more as I can neither read nor contribute to the Group right now. My beloved grandchildren kindly passed their Irish cold to me so have now got a chest infection and feeling poorly :-(

Hope to be sprightly, imaginative, and verbose very shortly! :-D <3

AnninGlos Report 19 Feb 2012 15:38

Hope you feel better soon BC. Can I send my OH to you so that you can share coughs. I might get a good nights sleep then!!! Just waiting to develop it myself.

<3 <3

ButtercupFields Report 19 Feb 2012 16:29

Thanks for the good wishes, ladies :-) Am snoozing to beat the band! Ann, I think your OH and I had coughs at the same time before now? *giggles.. :-D <3 ;-)

AnninGlos Report 19 Feb 2012 17:32

Probably October 2010 when we were up in London. :-D :-( :-(

Greenfingers Report 19 Feb 2012 17:59

Thankfully, touching wood now, OH and I have kept cold and cough free, but feel for you, if you have succumbed. Can we get together and suggest some scenarios ? Maybe one of us across the group could suggest the people, one where etc etc, Go on Ann give us a clue !!

Rambling Rose Report 19 Feb 2012 18:21

a couple of ideas

"Imagine that you are lying in a hammock, gazing up the trunk of tree that holds the hammock. You are profoundly relaxed; summer is almost over. Your mind drifts with the slow rocking of the hammock. Your spirit soars toward the top of the great white pine. Suddenly...."

"Write a 200-word description of a place. You can use any and all sensory descriptions but sight: you can describe what it feels like, sounds like, smells like and even tastes like. Try to write the description in such a way that people will not miss the visual details. "

"Favourite things" (poem ? )

'A country churchyard'

AnninGlos Report 19 Feb 2012 19:47

Thanks Rose, hope you have more success than I had with the last lot. Lol! Shall have to tink about this when I get home tomorrow.

AnninGlos Report 24 Feb 2012 16:33

OK First writing for a couple of weeks. I have sent out the 200 word favourite place one. :-D

AnninGlos Report 27 Feb 2012 16:35

My writing at the moment is like getting blood out of a stone, words are dragged out of my brain in slow motion. Now I have started a story and have no idea where it is going.

Rambling Rose

Rambling Rose Report 2 Mar 2012 12:41

A few ideas :-D

You (or a character you are writing about) open a drawer. It is not your drawer, but someone else's, perhaps a stranger's, perhaps your dead grandmother’s, perhaps your lover’s. Inside you find...

It's spring. Your character is walking out of doors and sees the burgeoning trees and flowers, hears the birdsong. But the character's reaction to all this newness and freshness is not what you would expect...

"I looked out over my city. I had been watching this city for a long time. I decided it was time. It was time to..."

Write a poem based on a dream you had. Try to reproduce the sensations of the dream.

Write a poem using all of the following words: exquisite, visit, glisten.

AnninGlos Report 2 Mar 2012 15:18

Where's all this lot coming from Rose???? I am still stuck halfway through one of the last lot! :-D :-D :-D

Rambling Rose

Rambling Rose Report 2 Mar 2012 15:23

:-D Ann , I have a couple of sites, found through google, that put up exercises, just working through some of the old ones and popping them on here when I find any I think might suit.

AnninGlos Report 2 Mar 2012 15:29

Ah, thought I had seen a couple of them, yes I google those sites, there are some good themes if only I could get my head round them.
