This took place at Kinder Scout 80 years ago, when people were fighting for the right to roam. Many participants where from the Sheffield and Manchester area. Who could blame them, when we remember what industries they were employed in, in those days. No wonder they wanted the freedom to escape to the countryside, with the freedom to raom.
An interesting point I heard on the radio today was that the 'Hierarchy' thought it was a Communist plot to attack the Aristocracy for owning so much land.
Good for the protesters, I say.
