Morning Ladies,

Petunia, I have been recording 'Midwife' and finally got around to watching a few episodes..I have no idea which series I am watching. Quite enjoyable. Thankfully I had my children in a much later era... My BIL was put in a 'drawer' as a newborn :-D...

A dear friend is celebrating a birthday today so we are off to a wine bar after work to toast my friend and have a few laughs... My Fruit is the driver ;-)..

I must away and get ready for work, I slept in a little bit this morning so am running late, though running is an over statement cause I don't run :-D..

#Trills# Simply make believe I love you...............simply make believe that you love meeeeeeee. You are right dear Susan, love IS grand!

Ah, sitting here in the parlour, with a warm breeze fluttering the curtains, and the smell of the hyacinths in the vase, it takes me back many years ago, to the last meeting with my Own True Love.......................

It was a warm balmy evening, and we had to say our last goodbye before he left for the Front. He was resiliant and brave, full of bravado. I was a shy little thing and wanted to do all I could to please him before he left. I had knitted him a pair of wooly gloves and a scarf but he wanted more..................he wanted a balaclava!

We parted with a lingering kiss, and as you know, he went and never came back. Such was my grief that I never recovered, until I saw the rotter some 50 years later! Still, one must not speak ill of the dead!

Lesley, I hope that the reunion was a joyous one, and fruit is back in the booooosum of her family. Regaling you no doubt with tales of exotic locations. How wonderful.

Susan, we will converse between us via the PM, no dear not Call me Dave, and arrange things. You are right, two engagements, two outfits, possibly with hats involved.

I did manage to see Sir Mick and co. many moons ago. When they were public schoolboys, and not the mockneys they now appear to be. Who is the Boss dear? Have Big Brother moved in? How disconcerting.

Beattie was fine, if a little lethargic. She played altogether a beat behind the congregation, and All Things Bright and Beautiful sounded more like the Funeral March. Nevertheless, if it keeps her on the straight and narrow, it is for the best.

Must dash dears, tis time for the Midwife. Not, not for me, the television programme. If there was any chance of that dears, it would be nothing short of a miracle!

Morning Ladies,

Hello Susan-wiv :-), do come back.

Lesley, I hope your fruit is well and that you survived the 'viewing'??.

Teresa, the Boss is in tip top condition and has the energy of a much younger man it would seem. He looked rather 'fit'....
We saw Elton here many moons ago, I don't think I would bother again. Sitting in the layby sounds a good idea. We are off to the Stones in April, my Oh's favourite band... (if they are still in the land of the living by then).

Very dear friends of ours are on cloud nine, they now have two sons engaged. Lovely news, we have known these young men since they were babes in arms. Where have the years gone?. Their Mama will need two new outfits. ;-)...
Aint love grand.

Petunia, I trust Beatrice behaved herself and managed to stay upright at the ivories after you 'enhanced' her Earl Grey, for a minute I thought you were going to doctor the tea of Earl Grey :-\.... Daffodils, how lovely, they are my Mama's favourite flower. A fact I didn't know til after my Dad died, his were Sweet Williams, a most unassuming little gem.

Thank you for your PM Petunia. I shall await instructions.

Monday again, the sun is out but it is a tad cool. We had some much awaited rain last night. Hopefully there was enough to make a difference....

Have a pleasant evening,,

Good morning gels!

Hello to dear Susan Wiv. I think we have corresponded before, please place your deckled edged hand engraved calling call on the mantlepiece, and then we can formally introduce ourselves. You may call me Auntie Petunia if you so wish, we will be having high tea at 6pm sharp, do come.

Teresa will be going all Two Tone I suspect Lesley dear. Such is the nature of these things.

I am just orft to church for the 11am Service. I have taken the sachet you sent me Teresa dear, and will carefully pour it into Beatties tea. Does it have a taste? She is very acute to her tastebuds. Perhaps if I pop it into Earl Grey she will not notice.

Just about to gather the bowing daffodils for the vestry, and will toddle orft.

Yes Auntie I do hope our middle fruit will have plenty to tell us :-D and show us :-|

I did see about the flooding in Christchurch on the Beeb...I also noticed one of the road names...Riverside Road...enough said.

Teresa am I correct in thinking it will be a very Special event that you are attending in the autumn?

Good evening dears. I am sorry I have not been regaling you with good deeds and dealings with poor unfortunates, but dear Beatrice has been giving us bother.

As you know we spend most Sunday afternoon at the Home for Old Soldiers and Sailors, and Beatrice tickles the ivories. Unfortunately she was tickling a bit more than that this Sunday! A rather dashing Captain caught her eye and wanted to show her his medals. Thank goodness the men sleep in dormitories, that is all I will say, a single room would have been her downfall! I went to find out where she had gawn, and I found her being chased around the bedsteads. I must say, both are very sprightly for their ages, and I never knew that Beatrice could vault that high! Apparently she was under 13 Champion at her school, thank goodness she has not lost the ability to scissor kick.

Do give you good gentleman walker my best regards for his birthday dear. He is but a mere spring chick compared to me. But then again, most people are!

Lesley dear, how lovely to have your fruit back in the booooosum in the family. You will have so much to talk about.

I imagine that Teresa is toiling away, we will speak when we see her.

Now, we will be having a special guest visiting in a few months time, Royalty I think, I shall pm you all a plan of action in the next week or so.

Lesley, I bet you are looking forward to seeing your middle fruit home safely. Do you have far to travel to the airport.?.
Thank you for your p.m. I don't know what I did to it, but I can't find it now :-|.....
Goodness knows which button I managed to hit to lose the mail.. :-(.

Does your fruit know where the washing machine is - or will that be her Mama's job?.

~~~~~ to Petunia and Teresa. I hope Petunia hasn't fallen into one of those glorious window boxes??.
The sun is out again today, yesterday got very hot during the day... Not sure if you saw on your news that Christchurch was hit by heavy rain causing a lot of flooding. As if recovering from the earthquakes wasn't bad enough... We are quite desperate for rain in our neck of the woods.. Though being a townie, I quite like the dry ;-).
Friday today, yippeeeee, this week has gone by quickly. have a pleasant evening and a lovely weekend.
Morning Ladies,
We had a lovely weekend in the big smoke with good friends. We all attended a Bruce Springsteen concert. It was great :-), we were all suitably impressed. The weather was kind to us which is a blessing any day of the week..
My Mama had a lovely day, thank you for your good wishes. My two fruits took her out to dinner. We went out for lunch too, Mama had one sandwich :-D, not my idea of birthday lunch - but it wasn't my birthday... ;-).
I am imagining your lovely window boxes Petunia, such a pretty sight after the miseries of Winter. :-). Such well behaving flowers too. :-D.
It is Monday morning - again. I had best get my skates on and ready myself for the day ahead.
I shall p.m you with dates. :-)
Hallo ladies one and all :-D
happy birthday wishes Susans Mama, I hope you all had an enjoyable day :-D
Tattoos :-( :-( :-( :-( tutty tut tut tut. I really do not like them dears. The Fruits have been warned in no uncertain terms, piercings can be removed but tattoos :-| :-| :-| of course they are a matter of taste in artistic circles etc etc but oooh dear noooooo, not in this abode. As the skin expands so does the offending inkage. FTE had a secondearing inserted when she was in your neck of the woods Susan but its hidden and removable. I know of a certain Mama whoonce had three earings in each year back when Mr Lydon was a yoof but theyare gone now ;-) ;-) ;-)
Im sorry to hear of your Fruits OHs grandpa Susan, thoughts are with everyone.
Auntie its not Mr Hall of the beat combo but Mr Rankin Roger. He still has a lot of energy for a bloke of his age :-D it was a good evening enjoyed by all especially chaps of a certain age reliving their yoof :-D :-D :-D
Speaking of Mr Hall, FTE came home the other day with a very early and rather generous Mothers/Fathers day gift. The Fruit had perchased tickets for us to see Mr Hall and co in a certain London venue in the Autum :-D :-D :-D we are happy parents.
The fruit is very happy with the new place of paid toil and appears settled after the years of fruit like behaviour which befalls all fruits at one stage or the other.
The babies sound very sweet Lesley. I have found a place where you can spend many hours cooing and arrring over small fruit clothing without dragging into town. A very nice clothing/ Homewear store has expanded near the roundabout not far from the old large suoermarket site. Its a pleasure to look around, unlike the cramped one in town. I spent a happy hour browsing there :-D
ooh Susan, I remember the flutterings, :-D :-D :-D
Enjoy your weekends
Teresa
Happy Birthday to Susan's Mama. Many Happy Returns.
I remember when I turned 90 dears, although Susan's Mama is nowhere near. I remember thinking that if life begins at forty, then I am on my third innings!
The window boxes are chock full of crocuses and snowbells. They are very pretty indeed. Daffodils and Narcissus are alive and well in the gardens. How they bob their heads when I pass. I do like a bit of reverence dears.
Do let us know via a pm Susan dear when we can expect you, and we will arrange a reception party for you. I am excited and planning what to wear already.
Sending a 'snuff box' to Lesley, have a good whiff dear, it will either restore your sensibilities or knock you into next week. :-D.
Perhaps there is something in the saying 'some things are sent to try us' - our children perhaps.?
I am having a day off today. It is Mama's birthday. I am going to visit her for the day. Fruit and pup are staying the night as Fruit has work there tomorrow. A niece is coming for the day out too. Mama is 87 today. :-). She told me that recently, while out walking one morning, she realised in three years she will be 90. How is that for positive thinking. ;-).
The sun is out , the days have been quite hot this week and the mornings cool, the leaves are starting to turn and fall. :-P. Shame but there you go...
I trust everyone is fit and well and enjoying the first signs of Spring.
Have a pleasant evening.
#........................doing the Lambeth Walk, Oy!!!!!#
My goodness I did not know I could be so common! Cockney accent perfected to a T!
I must say the old Soldiers and Sailors are singing along with gusto. What with that and all the WW1 songs, we will bring the house down. I have decided to charge a nominal entrance fee for the show, and the proceeds will be spent on food and drink for the party afterwards. I dare say Pat-trish-aaaaah, Holly and Mrs Berry will rise to the occasion, just like her sponges.
Ah tattoos, they are the devil's drawings. A young female acquaintance of mine decided she would have one when she went to Glast-on-Berry one year. She was walking out with a scruffy oik at the time who was also 'inked'. Her Papa and Mama forbade it, but when one is a stroppy teenaged of full age, she decided to do what she pleased.
However, the buzz of the needle must have put her orft, and she returned with a nose piercing instead. Her Papa was incandescent and could not look her in the face. Nonplussed, she returned the following year with a belly-button ring! Which, in accordance with the non sterile conditions, turned septic. Her Mama had to adminster TCP at regular intervals until it was pristine again. Tutty tut, and then tut again.
More rain on the way dears, so look out the brollies once again.
Susan dear, a lady only 'glows' no matter how hard her chores! Do you not have hired help dear? I can send Pat-trish-aaaaah down the cyber hatch for you. I think the separation will do the both of us good!
Ohh Lesley,
My OH is dead against tats... Our two have been told in no uncertain terms.... Of course they will make up their own minds :-(.
I have trouble with the 'piercings' some have, puts me right off my dinner...
Sunday morning here, I have a basket of ironing that seems to have my name on it :-P. In my next life I shall have millions of minions at my beck and call...
Dreams are free..
We have had a run of very humid days, nothing very lady like about sweat dripping off my forehead. :-D Perhaps I am not a lady ;-)..
Fruits OH's granddad is very ill and it is only a matter of time for the poor man. Between fruit and her OH, this will be the fourth grandparent to pass away in less than a year....
So sad.
Hope everyone and their 's are fit and well,
