Have you been eating onions Petunia?...

I am glad dear Cherry is doing well. If you should speak to her again, please pass on my best wishes to her for a speedy recovery. I hope she enjoys being waited on by her first husband. :-)..

What a wonderful spell of weather we had over the weekend. Such a joy. I spent time over at my Mama's. We visited Papa, oh what an improvement in him. He is to come home tomorrow afternoon :-). He is in much better spirits and virtually pain free. Hurrah !!.

The rain has arrived this evening...

I am a little excited ladies, I belong to another site (starts with a G). I have had contact from Canada from a lady who has connections to my Papa's maternal line :-). This line descends from Ireland and we know next to nothing of them. I have very high hopes indeed..... A very welcome bolt from the blue.

I trust you are all keeping well?. Petunia, at your age you must take extra care of yourself. ;-).. I wonder if it is true that onions keep the bugs away??.

Ladies, a tip for you. My Papa had a dreadful time with a sore mouth, ulcers and the like. A lady doctor told us to bring him some pineapple juice. It has healing qualities... My Papa swears it was helpful. I take a small glass each morning now - til the novelty wears off or I forget to buy more. One nurse did mention that pure pineapple juice can strip your fingerprints :-S, gawd knows what it does to your insides :-D

It is now 8.07 pm, time to get the dinner on . OH is due home at 8.30..

Gooood evening Ladies,

So quiet over the weekend, you must have been tip-toeing about so's not to disturb me.

I am now back on my feet, although a little shaky, and I shall be returning to my good works tomorrow.

Yesterday, I spoke to dear Cherry, she has had her operation, and is being waited on by her gentleman walker. It will be slow progress, but she says she is fine.

Over and out dears. I hope your weekend went well.

Ladies,

I have been a little tardy of late, but I am still one degree under! This cold is a beggar! My ears are failing me, my nose constantly running, and I ACHE!

If I had not had the jab, I would swear it is a touch of flu! Surely not! I have not ventured out of the house for 3 days, and I am feeling a little cabin crazy.

However, my good works are carrying on without me at the helm. Why, the amount of phone calls I have had from my various committees, telling me not to hurry back!
So kind!

Sniffing loudly.

Good upside down evening,

Teresa, for a minute there I was envisaging 'gemstones'.... I thought you were going to send something of great value :-D. I do love apple crumble :-)..

Petunia, I am of the same mind as you. I have never had a flue jab but know of people who get sick once they have been 'jabbed' :-0.. I hope you are a box of fluffy ducks asap. I have a tickly throat presently. I cannot afford to get ill or I shall not be able to visit my Papa.

I spoke to himself a little earlier, he sounded a lot brighter and had the best nights sleep in a hundred years :-S, and I thought he was only 79... He did take a little fall today trying to get about unaided.. Oh dear. By all accounts he got a telling off.

My OH has just arrived home, we have to make a quick trip out so I shall return another time.

Thank you for your good wishes dears, I am slowly on the mend.

I KNOW 'they' say the flu jab does not cause a cold, but it is the teeniest bit suspicious that I never had a cold before. Got vaccinated with a gramophone needle, and voila, I have the sniffles!

I am pleased your OH is getting better by the day dear Susan. Take good care of him, he is good un from what I saw on your London visit dear.

Teresa dear, I am sure you are sylph-like, and do not have a spare inch of skin. If only I could lose a stone [or two] I would be as happy as Larry.

Lesley - get out of bed dear, and come and talk to us!

Have a good evening dears.

Hallo Ladies :-D

I'm glad your OH is on the mend Susan, I have a spare stone hanging about my person. I shall send it down the cyber hatch along with some apple crumble I made today. That should do the trick :-D

Hugs to your Pa and the Family x

Auntie I am sending an industrial size pot of Vic down the cyber hatch which should help with the cold :-D :-D :-D I will send some chicken curry later as well which I am making for tea. Its been a hive of industry here today Gals. ;-)

Lesley if you pop the plumbs by the wayside I'm sure people would take them for a small fee or free :-D Its lovely and warm here, more so in the afternoons than the mornings.

We were nice and warm yesterday watching the Fruit play the devils football. They won 5-2 which was a very nice change. :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

FTE communicated a little earlier. The Fruit has been to America and Canada and is now orf to the Med. It will be nice and warm there I think. The Fruit is well and still clocking up the sea miles :-)

I'm tootling orf now. I have an appointment later with the "gasps"........... dental hygienist. All that scraping and chipping. Tutty tut tut. I have a sooper doper electric toothbrush but still I have to go and be whooshed with the gadgets there. :-(

Hello deab labies, I have a stinker of a colb. So please excuse the stuffed dose. I am proper poorly. I had by flu jab on Webnesday and now hab got a told! Sniffs.

I am very pleased that your gentle walker is better dear Susan, he is a very nice man and I would hate to see him unwell. I am very pleased he is on the mend.

We are going into Autumn here, and the leaves are falling from the trees. We are also have the roads resurfaced and repainted. Oh my dears, the noise! They start at 8.00am and continue until 6pm. They have a huge contraption that removed the tarmac, and spews it onto the back of a truck. The noise it makes! Poor Trickey Woo is hiding under her blankets for most of the day.

One thing that did make me smile...................there have been notices on the lampposts for 3 weeks now, indicating that all parking would be suspended for 3 days while the work was done. However, some people still did not move their cars and got very irate when they were hoisted onto the back of a trailer. The cars I mean, not the people!

So, nothing much to report except to say that days are getting colder, and the nights are getting darker.........................ugh!

Have a peaceful weekend ladies

Good upside down Saturday morning Ladies,

It does seem such an age since I was last here... Good news, my OH has fully recovered and is back to work. He does look a little on the thin side, actually, a lot on the thin side but I shall put that too rights... ;-).

My Papa has had a bit of a rough time of it, ended up in horsepiddle with pneumonia , was let out six days later only to end up in the same bed again a few hours later.. He is still there but getting a little stronger. Pain mananagemet is the biggest hurdle presently. More problems but I shall not bore you with those. We will go over later today and stay the night with Mama.. Oh dear, there are a few hurdles to face yet I fear.. :-(.

My emotions are all of a muddle but we shall "keep calm and carry on" :-)

Lucky you having some pleasant weather. We have had rain rain and more rain.. We have finally let the fire go out, will use a heater if needs must. Spring is sprung, the grass is ris...... The weeds are flourishing :-P, another job to add to the list..

Today is the dreaded housework day... My kitchen still smells of paint - a week later, uggghhh. Eau de oil :-D, stinks in fact.

Have a lovely weekend, see you next week :-)

Good Evening One and All.

Oh my what glorious weather we are having :-) I have been in my element working in the garden while soaking up the late summer rays and of course dodging drunken wasps :-|

Thank you E is back to normal, at first I thought maybe her ma and pa were being over cautious, then when I saw her I soon changed my mind :-( put things a little higher, already she is climbing onto the settee then onto the window sill :-0

Oh Teresa my cooking apples aren't ready yet................but I have Victoria plums coming out of my ears if anyone would like some.

Good evening dear Ladies, and a hello to the two new people who have joined the silent majority, who sit and read, but never contribute! Please do dears, we need new blood!

How is the little one dear Diamond. Well and running around I hope. I imagine the little one is now up and into everything. Time to put the precious things up a shade higher, for fear of being pulled over! Such exciting times for little E.

Thank you for the apples dear Teresa. Unfortunately I opened the cyber hatch before reading your missive, and got bashed on the boko! I have divided them up between Pat-trish-aaaah and Mrs Berry and they are having a Bake Off. Some strange smells came from the scullery. I wonder if Pat-trish-aaaah was using that hemp flour? She was certainly mooning around and calling us all Man! Man indeed! I am a fully fledged, fully formed, woman I will have her now. Tutty tut!!!!!

I do hope that dear Susan is well in Upsidedown Land, and I sent her my love. <3

Madonna Auntie?? was that in her coffee table book days :-S :-S :-S :-S I do not know either what the added extra was on those beautiful gals, maybe a new brand of face cream.................................................................................................

I must apologise to Lesley, I have been reading back the posts and missed the one where baby E was unwell with an ear infection. I do hope all is well now. I'm afraid I did not make it to the stitching show, we had not seen MIL and FIL for sometime so hithered over there.

I remember Pan Yan Pickle, do they still make it. I'm cooking batches of cakes for the very hungry FTY. They are too hot to eat at the moment so the Fruit will have to wait. I will send some down the cyber hatch, not to Motie Towers as it would appear you have enough but to Susan and Lesley instead. I will send Auntie the glut of cooking apples instead to make a pie or crumble.

Tis dark when I leave for paid toil but gets lighter along the way. There was a beautiful sunrise over the A12 last week. I was a little later into work. It must have been in your neck of the woods Aunt P for Christopher Evans mentioned it on the beeb.

Tootling orf to wash up

MotownGal Report 24 Sep 2013 20:41

Good evening dear Friends,

What a very strange day we have had today. As you know, I am up with the lark, and what an odd sight met my gaze this morning.

For a start, at 5.30am it was still dark, and the fog was so thick, I could not see to the end of the garden. I was to meet my dear friend Octavia at the airport, she was coming in a 8.00am, and both Pat-trish-aaaah and I were to have gawn by tuk-tuk. I must admit, even I was loathe to send the poor creature out into the fog. Mainly because if the silly gel had lorst her way, we would have been going around the M25 all day. How I miss George and his limousine!

However, by the time we had bathed [separately] and dressed and partaken of breakfast the fog had lifted to a light mist. Never say die, we set off.

Octavia was delighted to see us, and we waited for her cases to come around on the carousel. Duly cased up, we left the terminal, slung the cases on the back of the tuk-tuk, and set it into motorised mode. What a joy it was to see Octavia again after two weeks. She looked quite brown.

We had a lovely luncheon supplied by Mrs Berry, and we spoke of Octavias excursions. She went to Madrid, and visited the old town, and all the churches and places of interest. She also bought me back a beautiful shawl. In fact she bought back three shawls, one for me, and one each for Georgianna and Beatrice. As I supplied the lunch, I got first dibs at the shawls. I have picked a lovely blue-green one, to match my eyes.

I am sitting here wearing it actually, and I must say, I do look rather fetching. I look like Madonna of the Seven Veils. Now was that Jean Kent or Susan Heywood?

Puzzling, but still admiring my reflection!

I would indeed like to savour your chutney dear. My dear Papa used to love his Pan Yan pickle on a pork chop, but I was a little young for such delights. A pretty cover too, how novel, and ingenious!

I am opening the hatch now.......................................................yes, thank you dear, I held my skirt out to catch said jar, as the saying goes, Up there #points to head# for thinking, and down there #points to feet# for dancing!

I hope you are all well and dry dears, tis a stormy night...................again!
