Morning Ladies,

I trust you all had a Merry Christmas?. Lesley, I hope the shock has worn off by now?.

Well, I survived a hectic Christmas Day. I am wearing my imaginary badge to prove it. :-D. The weather wasn't the best but we managed. We were an hour later eating than I had planned but best laid plans and all that......

I got a lovely voucher from Oh to spend in my favourite dress shop, I smelt daughters hand in the choosing ;-). OH also gave me a jumbo pack of Malteser's, my favourites. I take issue with the packaging though - it says 'share pack'.. I say naff off, they are all mine !!..

It is the 27th today and I don't have to go in to work. I can take the day to put the house back to rights. I woke yesterday at 5.15am to my Mama calling my name. She had gone into the kitchen to check the time and stepped right into a flooded kitchen :-|. Our filter tap hose had come off in the wee hours and there was water everywhere. So much so, it was coming out under the outside walls of the house. I have a nice flood mark on the carpet in the lounge and several cork tiles are lifting in the kitchen.... I know the floor needed a wash but puh lease :-0 :-0.

So that is it for another 363 days... hooray :-).

My dear ladies, I hope you are all well.

Teresa dear, all matresses need time to 'break in' and you know what they say, new bed, new baby. #ducks from shoes being thrown in my direction# I hope your nephew makes a speedy recovery.

Pleased little E is tickety boo Lesley dear. The Peter Pan hospital has lots of tinies through its doors. I myself was a patient there once. You must be proud of your family dear, and rightly so.

Now Upsidedown Susan, this secret. I would venture a guess, but I would not want to step on toes. I thnk all will be revealed in the in the fullness of time. Maybe 9 months?

Our Christmas dinner was lovely dears. All candlelight and beautiful food. Mrs Berry and dear little Holly did us proud. I have packed Mrs Berry off for the holidays now, she will return in January.

I will be going to France for the holidays to stay with George, Francine and dear little Valentine. Francine has some good news for us apparently. I do hope it is a little friend for Valentine.

So my dears, it is now time to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas, a Prosperous and Happy New Year, Good Health to you all.

I remain, as always, your
Auntie Petunia.

Good Evening All

I hope you are all prepared for the Festive Season.................I have one more present drop to make then I can put my feet up :-D

Susan I am sorry to here about you nephew I hope he soon makes a full recovery <3

We have never had a pre booked cheap train deal from home to London :-( although our fruits have had some excellent deals mainly from home to Manchester, these fares have sometimes been less expensive than our trip to London last week :-S

Teresa E loves any catalogue..........................she tears them to shreds :-D

Mulled wine and mince pies anyone?

Good morning Ladies :-D

asvyou can see it is a little early, the new bed is nice and much more comfy than the old one however................ iam still a little nocternal. Tutttty tut tut. I think it is three decades of shifts which have caused the disruption, that and the M word :-| :-|

it is good news about little E Lesley, its shocking the price of train tickets nowadays. I really cannot understand why it costs so much. I expect E is a little young to be excited about Christmas yet. Never fear, E will be armed with the argos catalouge before you know it. The Fruits used to cart it around with them oohing and arring. We have a very good independant toy shop here and it was on route home from FTYs primary school. The yongest fruit had a never ending source of joy looking in it on the way home from school most days. They sold the danish brick sets which were so beloved of the fruit. Many christmas days were spent trying to construct the fleet of various star wars ships!!!!! FTE wasnt exempt when she was young. Igs amazing how the construction of Barbies horse box and stable kept three grown men occupied for almost an entire day :-D :-D :-S

We are on our own on the day itself but have relays of relatives over the festive period. It is the paid toils christmas do tonight :-D :-D :-D I shall winch myself into my glad rags :-| I fear it will not be as sedate as Aunties gathering :-D :-D :-D :-D thankfully I have a few days to recover for I do not venture back until boxing day :-D

Susan dear, I wonder what the secret is, Im having a wild stab in the dark here but isit ..........................or...................... ............. ;-) ;-)

I do hope your little great Nephew is on the mend soon. Lots of puzzle books, drawing and colouring may while away the hours. Mind you if he is anything like the modern day fruits no doubt he will have a hand held electronic game device of some sort to entertain him :-D

Well ladies, if i dont get to the parlour before the big day I would like to wish you all a very merry christmas and remind you that Mr Darcy, the ultimate in gentlemen walkers will be gracing our screens over the feative period. ( you may have to Google Susan) :-( I have seen the photograhic image of the new Mr D and he looks rather dashing. Mind you no one could replace Mr Firth in the nations acfections :-D :-D :-D

Morning all,

It would seem I am back :-). I was delighted to read of your festivities Petunia. I could just imagine the Nativity play.. No doubt my eyes would not have been dry either.. I hope you enjoy your dinner party on Saturday. Perhaps I could borrow your cook?. I am going over and over my me n u for Christmas Day and still can't decide on what to serve for 'nibbles'...
I am hoping the sun will be out so our guests can sit outside - the birds can have any crumbs ;-)..
I wrapped presents yesterday, I do try and keep things even between my family. I fear I am one present short for my fruit... Back to the shops I go. :-(.

My Mama is coming over on Christmas Day with one of my blisters.. There will be no room at this inn on Christmas night. All the beds and even bits of floor have been spoken for.. Oh well, tis the season to be kind to one and all.
My poor tree is looking a little forlorn. I am afraid some of the usual spirit is absent, I threw the decorations at the tree and it shows.. I shall make an effort to rearrange things - if I can be bothered.

Teresa, I hope your new bed is giving you a decent slumber ?. Did you get the same size as the old bed so your linen is still useable?.

Lesley, ooouch, expensive journey for you on the train. It is a wonder people use the things. Can you get it cheaper by booking in advance, not that it is always possible to book in advance....

Ladies, I am party to a secret, it is not my secret and I am having to be very careful not to let the secret out. I wish people wouldn't 'let me in'... You know how it is, the more you try not to mention a subject, the more likely you are to 'spill'.

I have a great nephew (8), poor little might has been admitted to hospital for a months bed rest. It is feared he has Rhuematic fever.... He is presently quite happy but this is only day three !!. The hospital is an hours drive from where we live, his mama is currently staying in with. There is a younger brother too. It is of course school holidays here.. The ball I have bought him for Christmas will be put in a cupboard. I shall have to buy something else.. Lucky I am going back to the shops ;-).

Have a pleasant evening.

Good Evening Ladies.

I see it's almost a full house :-D ........................cooee Susan do you still have the GR gremlins?

Today myself our eldest fruit and our grand fruit ventured to your part of the world Auntie Petunia, E had her 3/4monthly appointments at the hospital for very special children, the good news is one of the clinics only wants to see E yearly:-D the bad news is the ophthalmology clinic want to see her again in April :-( maybe and only maybe after April E might be referred back to Teresa's part of the world :-D I really hope so as today train fare was £94 for two adults..................I did say we only wanted to travel on the train and not buy it :-D

Teresa I hope you are happy and that you are sleeping better in your new super duper bed :-)

Petunia I have tried everywhere I can think of to buy monkey brains and Mendel's peas.....................alas I haven't had any joy..................but I have had a few strange looks :-S

Good evening dear Ladies. How are we all?

I fear dear Susan may well have fallen foul of the dreaded server, I myself had a bit of trouble a few days ago, and could not regale you all with my tales of derring do. However, a very naice young lady Miss Jax advised me what to do, I did it, and here I am. My thanks to her.

The part for the Old Soldiers and Sailors went off with a swing over the weekend, and a jolly good time was had by all.

Mrs Berry and dear little Holly were baking all last week, and excelled themselves. They were better than Delia and Nigella rolled into one. All manner of petit fives, cakes and trifles were adorning the table. The old folk tucked in, and were sated. I do so like to see a man with a healthy appetite, and there were certainly a few of them!

As you know Beatrice is a wizz on the old Joanna and she turned up with her sheet music tucked very neatly under her arm. She has such an ample boooosum that the music very nearly disappeared into her cleavage.

We all had a jolly sing-song, then charades, and even musical chairs. I was afraid that some of the elderly people were unstable on their tootsies but they all did very well. They all retired to their respective beds tired but happy.

Well dears, there is only one thing left to organise, and that is the dinner for my intimate friends. We are to dine on Saturday, Mr and Mrs Georgianna, Octavia and Beatrice will all be there, and we will think of dear Lavinia and raise a glass to her.

More wind on the way dears, and it is nothing to do with brussel sprouts!

I'm so glad the Christmas on television is not real Aunty, I was thinking that Nigella and Kirsty and Nigel et al were all having soooooo much more fun than one!!!

Your dear little nativity sounds fun. I do miss the Fruits in their nativity plays, the happy smiling faces and tears and tantrums??

I fear the gremlins have got Susan again. We must send out a search party at once or fly over for some winter sun?? ??. I wonder if these icons are working???

All is well this end of the A12 we are awaiting the wind

Well , at last. !!

I am frightfully fed up with trying to access this ruddy site..... I had to resort to going to bookface to try and glean what was happening.... Needless to say, I have changed my server and hey presto, I am back...

I would like a refund on the fees I have been paying whilst unable to use said site.. Ooh look, a little piggy just went flying by.

I am at work and currently not doing any work, I shall leave for now and try my luck again later.. If I do not return you can assume the gremlins are at work again.

Toodle,

Susan

Dear Ladies, what a time I have had getting on to our little thread, and me having sooo much to tell you, it was very distressing!

The nativity play went very well, Mary was perfect in her role, except when she dropped the baby, then lost her temper and threw it stage left. Joseph got the giggles and wet himself. The Angel Gabriel has a limp wing, and one of the shepherds insisted on bringing on a teddy instead of a toy lamb. But apart from that, wonderful, and there was not a dry eye in the house.

The Christmas Party for the Old Soldiers and Sailors is tomorrow afternoon. Mrs Berry and Holly have been baking all week, and we have found a recipe for non-alcoholic punch. So all is prepared and raring to go. We have a pianist coming in to play tunes from their era, so all is tickety boo. I shall report back.

I keep going on monkey brains and mendels peas dear Lesley.

I hope you are all well dears, and your Christmas preparations are all in hand. Never fret too much dears, the Christmas you see on the television is not real!

Im up with the owl this morning ladies :-| I think it was out and about doing its rounds, terwit terwooing past our bedroom window :-| :-| :-|

lesley dear, I have been having a bit of trouble for the last couple of years keeping asleep. I wake up wide eyed and bushy tailed after a very uncomfotable night trying to get comfortable. Tis the bed Ladies, I am the princess and I fear there may be a whole plantation of peas in the matrice :-( :-0 :-( :-0 however my christmas has come early. The new bed is being delivered today :-D we tested them all in the shop, ( I kid you not) and found the perfect one and the perfect pillows. Unfortunatly it was not the perfect price but one cannot put a price on a good nights sleep.

I havnt been on the night shift for msny years. Early and late and middle shifts but not nights, my sleep patten is dire to say the least. I remember the last time I did a night. It was the night before and of, Princess Dianas funeral. FTE was indeed FTY then. FTY was but a twinkle in our eyes at the time so you can tell how many years ago that was.

I went to see a choir last week. You may know of them Auntie, they are called The CK gospel choir and were very good, uplifting and enjoyable. Have a google and if you get a chance go and see them :)

Lesley has been unable to get on to the genes thread, is anyone any idea how she can access it? They are all well.

We are all nearly prepared for Christmas, a good nights sleep and I will be ready to party, whats going on at "The Towers" Aunty P :0)

MotownGal Report 9 Dec 2013 19:36

Good evening ladies, and those who silently peep!

We must have all been very, very busy to let out dear little thread lapse so.

I have been organising the Orphanage Natavity Play. All those little waifs and strays were so excited to be in a performance organised by my good self. I do believe they were offered encouragement by the bribe of fizzy drinks and minced pies, but who cares when I have my pick of children to be utterly adorable in my production.

All the major players have been picked, and one dear little golden haired child is to be the Angel Gabriel. What a shame she has a cold and keeps cuffing her nose and wiping it down her white gown! However, a good biological powder will remove the crusted stains!

We have any amount of donkeys, goats, cows and asses. We have towns people, and assorted domestic animals. In short, I have found everyone a part of play for fear of upsetting the little darlings.

Those not in the play, are in the choir. I must say it brings a tear to my glass eye when they all sing together. There is nothing more pleasurable than seeing a dear little child singing their heart out.

I shall report back when the actual performance is to take place. I shall of course be playing the piano and prompting at the same time. Don't say that I am not adept at multitasking!

I trust we are all well dears. Not too cold for you all.

Ah yes dear Lesley, a cardboard box is far more interesting than the actual gift. Its only natural.

Take care dears
