I read a very long time ago that if garden pots are sprayed around the sides with ...

... WD 40...

this stops slugs/snails eating plants.

(One of WD 40's many wonderful 'preventions and cures'.)

You could try standing the trays on a larger bed of shingle - that's saved some of my pots.

They don't like sawdust either.

Crushed egg shells are supposed to help keep them off plants, but I don't know if that works

Heights don't bother them. One day last week one climbed at least 4 feet up our front door having negotiated the stone step first.

hi ladylol

we've been overrun with slugs, horrible things, they've even found their way into the kitchen. Found some little ones crawling up the backdoor, ( do slugs crawl? )

Id put some fresh sweetcorn seedlings in a box on a kitchen bin, think the slugs mayby scared of hights, not a chance, sp specky has put stuff around the bottom that they dont like and vaseline around tub, ive put cut brambles over my seedling cauliflowers , have you seen how much one fat slug will munch in a night. :-0 :-0
