I'm wearing sunglasses!!! I thought I was getting snow blindness

Don't like this at all, it's far too bright.

I will NOT be adjusting the brightness - all the other sites I use are fine.

I haven't looked at my tree yet ~ is it also this bright? Geez, I miss the awful green flock wallpaper already.

Why do I have NO emoticons?? I NEED to blow a BIG raspberry!!!

I have also sent feedback but really it's a waste of time, I know that I will get a reply which starts: 'We are sorry that you don't like the new appearance.........we will take all your comments into account'.
But they don't.

Please if you dislike anything don't just complain here but contact support via help at the top. I sent off my comments and had a swift reply about 15 minutes later saying they would be passed on to the desvelopment and management teams.

OMG what have they done to the tree.
It's so bright and bare, I can hardly read it. It looks like a bad combination of MyHeritage and Ancestry.
What's the point of Genes asking for members' opinions if they take no notice of anything at all?

I agree-the white is a bit stark, definitely not easy on the eyes.I wouldn't want to stay on here for too long either.Maybe we'll get used to it in time?? We'll wait and see, I suppose.

Roy, I have emailed GR, the tree has been fine all through the beta test ( on IE) , just checked and if I use googlechrome it is still there.

but I won't be able to use the boards, I can read them because i have changed my font to bold, but that does not work in the reply boxes so i am literally typing this 'blind'.

my eyesight is more important than the site to me, so i think unless something radical changes i will be off ( who cheered? lol)

ANYONE ELSE LOST THEIR TREE COMPLETELY?

My clever daughter fixed my screen!
It involves using Firefox instead of Safari but it looks great with a nice bold font.

Have changed my font to 'Rockwell extra bold' which helps the text is bigger and bolder ( except in this box!) and so there is less background to glare, Rollo has given tip on how to change colours on thread on Suggestions, and whilst I couldn't get a good background ( needs customising) the font change can help.

being dislexice i will not be abale to read long post
as the letter will be jumping up and down

and reading will take me twice as long as i will have to vocaks more

but in all i think the new look is a little plane and baoring

Oh I have just looked at the tree, hardly there is it, and I did prefer it when the male/female boxes were different colours.

I've been out all morning and come back, put Genes on and find I can't read it, I was hoping for a nice hour reading the threads but will close down now as it is hurting my eyes. Do GR listen if we complained.

What was the point of trialing the Beta site if they din't take notice of comments. I don't see why I should have to adjust my screen for this site when all others are fine. And I never had trouble on Ancestry, this is just too bright and hurts my eyes. I have been out and only on here for 5 minutes and am already uncomfortable. :-(

well I didn't get here early because I knew what I'd find ....but I DID tell them it was too bright and text too small ...and it is.

So much for their promise to make a change to that, as it was the most commented on 'flaw' in the beta feedback. Disappointed...and who nicked my6 emoticons?!

I have only been looking on the site for the last 10 minutes and right now I will have to go off as it is making me feel sick just looking at the black on white background..

Wish GR would ask the members before they put new ideas on site.
